During the period of a day, Ain had packed his bag in the guest room of Celeste's house and put on his red cloak that he had not worn in a week. Just recently he listened in on the conversation between a police officer, Celeste and her son - Shale, from what he learned he steeled himself and knew that he had to do. With the police around that were looking for him according to Zoraida, The Black Wings looking for him definitely, and the current goings of the house like Shale's behavior; it was a done deal that he was just in the way and was best for everyone involved if he just went back to his real home - the Forbidden Forest.

Hopping into the kitchen when Celeste wasn't around, he held his helmet under his arm and wrapped up the remaining cake to go and placed it in his bag. Ain appreciated that he was allowed to stay but he couldn't just stick around. He knew for a while that he should leave, the only reason he stayed was because he personally didn't want to - and Celeste would probably not tell him directly to leave so he was left with sneaking out.

With that he had all of his things, put on his helmet and threw his bag over his shoulder and ran out the door. By now he was fully healed, and ran faster than he had ever run in his life. It was quite curious but he didn't really care at the moment.Taking detours through backyards to avoid attention on the streets he was at least partially sure that no one had seen him leave Celeste's house and didn't think anyone noticed him running through the cities alleyways on the way out of Manta Carlos City.

In a short amount of time he made it to the edge of the city, past the cementary and dashed further into The Woods like a blur of red. The whole time his expression under his helmet was a frown, he had really wished that he could live a happy life like everyone else, but that wasn't his fate. Making his way through the trees, he slid around them with effortless ease, bending his elastic body and kicking off branches at great speed until finally he found his way back to The Forbidden Forest where his small house was - away from most people.

The Forbidden Forest was a dangerous place with vicious monsters around but he was quite used to it by now after fifty years, and easily bypassed the most dangerous parts to a clearing where his small one floor house was. 'I'm home, I guess.' he thought to himself as he arrived and stepped up the porch and tossed his bag by his rocking chair that was out front, he took a second to breath, and for a while he zoned out knowing that he would probably spend many more years away from people.

He sighed sadly.

Ain who had finally got comfortable being back, took out his bow and looked to the treeline where he had set targets for archery practice. He had not practiced in a long while, and walked into the center of the clearing and began firing off arrows into the targets. Each shot no matter how far away they were were bull-eyes, and he chuckled to himself on whether he actually needed to practice when he heard a noise and slipped and missed a single arrow that flew into a nearby tree.

'Who is there?' he questioned to himself.

A fair distance away from Ain's little abode, Ankh stood by the clearing with with a large and ancient bow in hand. She lets out a small huff as the arrow the length of spear disappeared somewhere within the darkness of the forest, far off target of the original tree she intended to hit. Judging from the loud sound splintering of wood, it was clear that she at least struck the trunk of the tree just out of her sight. While she learned that her shots were very powerful, power did nothing if one could not hit their mark. While she may be blessed by Sehkmet, she who mauls, it was evident that Satis, she who shoots, did not favor her.

Ankh grumbled an old Egyptian curse under her breath, then raises great bow once again and notches another oversize arrow. She squints, targeting the tree with large "X" scrawled onto its bark, then releases. The arrow flies off too high, striking the upper canopy of trees and causes several heavy branches to come crashing down while hidden birds fly off squawking in the air before finding other trees to settle in.

Though she at did hit the tree she was intending for, Ankh grits her teeth at yet another failure to hit her intended target. Having been at this for some time it was beginning to aggravate her that she can't seem to hit one stupid tree. So she quickly pulls out another arrow to take aim once again, not really concerned with the noise nor commotion she missed shots were making. If she attracted attention then so what, if someone or something comes by she figured it would make for a good diversion.

As a loud crash rang across the forest when the branches hit, many animals scattered to the four corners of the land as well as attracting attention from some of the more dangerous monsters.

Ain who was practicing his archery, raised an eyerbrow under his red dragonscale helmet and wondered if a new monster had arrived to cause havic or if combat had started between unknown people. Either way, he had to go investigate what was going on, as he dashed into the trees he snatched all the arrows from the targets and the tree as he went and listened carefully for more noise.

Swiftly he drew a single arrow and nocked it to his bow as he moved, there was no telling what would happen next.

Popping out of bushes he saw her quite clearly, a giant sphinx, holding a huge bow standing there. His eyes popped wide open under his helmet, as he stood there in awe of her large fifteen foot high form, never once did he witness someone like this in all the years he had been on the island. Lowering his bow to his side, he unnocked the arrow he had readied in case it was dangerous - yet kept the bow in hand just in case.

'Is she dangerous?' he thought to himself.

Stepping closer slowly, he remained cautious.

Ankh notched another great arrow, pulling back on the drawstring. As she looked to her intend target, she furrowed her brow as she could sense a soul wriggling nearby. While there are many petty souls all around her, this one she new was no mere beast. In an instant her upper body pivots to the direction of the soul she sensed and trained the arrow onto the possible intruder. Looking down, she let out a low rumbling noise as she saw a humanoid figure clad in red dragonscale leather come into full view. Her golden eyes lock onto the bow he wield, seeing that it is of superior craftsmanship but also unnotched. Seeing that this man was at present no threat to her, she likewise lowered her bow and unnotch her arrow as there was no need to pointlessly aggravate the situation.

"What might bring your kind to such a place? Had you intended me harm you likely would have long let loose arrows of your own. Seeing as you risked yourself in approaching so close I imagine that you are merely curious and have little intention of doing me harm." deduced Ankh as she returns the large arrow back into its quiver.

"As you have not raised your weapon against me, I will lower my weapon as well. Now, have you come to engage in discourse? Or just wanted a closer look upon Sekhmet's favored children, the Sphinx." inquired Ankh, her initial suspicions now turned to curiosity.

It took a second after hearing the words of the noble sounding sphinx, and realized that strangely she was not a threat. Looking upon her he noted her large feline body, and the large wings on her back but what what interested him most was her strong looking feminine body that towered over him. Other than that he paid close attention to the bow she had, not the most well designed bow but he could appreciate a fellow archer - well if she wasn't so big that is.

Ain's eyes looked to the tree line and saw many trees knocked over, and a single tree in the center that was untouched. 'Was she trying to hit that tree? With those spear sized arrows she is bound to cause more damage than properly practice,' he thought before looking back at the sphinx.

He couldn't talk so he gestured to his throat to try to say that he couldn't speak to her, that is if she understood what he meant. 'What was she saying about Sekhmet's favored children? Is that a god of this world?' he wondered as he stepped closer but stopped about eleven feet from the sphinx girl to avoid getting her caught in his fear aura.

On a whim he raised his bow towards the tree she was obviously trying to hit, nocked and arrow slowly, pulled the string back tightly and fired sending the arrow swiftly into the center of the tree. After that he pulled open his red cloak and put away his bow - strapping it in to his side before looking up at her.

Ankh continued to look down upon the humanoid, watching their charades and understanding that they lacked the ability to communicate with her. But while he may not have been able to speak to her, he seemed to have been able to understand her at the very least.

"Ah, you lack a voice of your own." commented Ankh as she lets on a frown, not all that pleased on having to interpret vague gestures. She next observes them raising to bow to the trees that she let loose arrows against.

"Yes, as you can see I was practicing my archery. A skill that I will admit is... underdeveloped." remarked Ankh as she looked upon the destroyed trees with large arrows sticking out of them spread throughout her firing range. Underdeveloped was quite the understatement, it was evident that she was lacking in experience if her lack of accuracy was anything to go by.

The man then let loose an arrow, hitting the tree she had been aiming for dead in the center. Great sphinx raised her eyebrows, impressed by marksmanship that was displayed.

"Impressive..." remarked the sphinx, giving the man a toothy grin. "You boast of considerable skill."

Ain blinked at the normal conversation she was displaying, usually things went differently in The Forbidden Forest, getting attacked right away or having an aggressive relationship was not too uncommon. His lips curled into a smile as she complimented him, it was his defining talent from a young age and he doubted anyone could best him in an archery competition, maybe she was a good person.

Deciding to trust anyone that understood that level of skill, he reached up with both hands to his helmet, undid the straps and pulled it off of his head. As the helmet came off, his messy blond hair almost bounced up in response back to what it always was without his headwear and his now visible youthful appearance with elven ears revealing what he was if she was aware. His violet eyes peered up at her calmly, getting a better view of her golden eyes and what he had originally thought to be eye makeup was actually a tattoo. She was big, but also pretty noble and attractive in her own way if you could overlook her lower parts.

He took a breath as he placed his helmet under his armpit and held it tight.

For a second he thought, 'would getting closer provoke a fight,' he almost wanted to test it and retreat if it went bad. For the time being he did nothing.

As Ain removed their helmet, it was only then she realized realized that the individual she was conversing with was not a human as she as she erroneously assumed. Given the elongated ears she suspected them to be some sort of elf, or perhaps some creature of the fae? Difficult to know for certain as there are many species living on island whom also share the knife-like ears.

"Hrmmpph... an elf are you? Or perhaps some form of fae? I will admit its difficult to tell you humanoid creatures apart given that many of the tell-tale differences are so minor." admits Ankh, stroking her chin for moment of consideration before she resumes speaking

"Whatever kinship you may possess... I suppose introductions are in order. Know my name as Ankh. You look upon the royal tomb guardian of the ancient pharaohs, a blessed child of wrathful goddess of slaughter Sehkmet, and wisest being of the southern deserts of ancient Egypt. Look upon me, ye mighty, and tremble before my grandeur."
spoke the sphinx in regal tone of voice, giving Ain a small but respectful bow. As she erects her posture, she looks upon Ain with smirk on her face.

"For you... I assume you returning a name would be difficult." commented Ahkn, looking down to Ain and his bow. "Prehaps for the time being I will refer you as... Archer if you find that acceptable. If not... I am welcome suggestions for an alternative moniker to refer you by. In my culture, a name is very much a part of person's soul."

As he looked up at Ankh he listened to what she had to say, when she spoke of him being an elf he nodded and shrugged about the talk of Fae for which he was quite sure what she meant. He then stoos still and listened to her introduction, mentioning a bunch of stuff like her name being Ankh, talks of a goddess and a place called Egypt. Except her name, he didn't really follow, but he nodded just the same.

Ain then stared curiously at being called Archer, and he supposed that being called by a class type was acceptable if he could not tell her his name; It beat being refered to as Red on his ID card. Nodding acceptingly he covered his mouth with his hand a muffled a laugh, it was silly but he could consider using it.

He then decided that he was going to take the risk, snd stepped forward as his aura flowed over Ankh's sphinx body, the aura of fear taking effect in the way that he could not predict. He kept a half step of caution so he could dodge away if necessary.

With nod of approval, Ankh assumed that the name Archer sufficed for the time being. While conversation would be still one-sided at least she had a something to call the man. Ankh observed as the man approached him, thinking nothing of it until the moment he came within 10 feet of her she felt the smallest tinge of an emotion she never felt before: fear.

In the moment Ankh spread her wings and lets out a snarl, staring down at Archer from her great height. Ankh was very much annoyed, if she were a lesser creature she would have turned tail and ran but as sphinx, her response is with aggression.

"Grrr... what is this? This feeling... I know it is your doing. It is foolhardy to intimidate a Sphinx in such manner so I will ask of this only once: whatever it is that your doing just now... cease. Before I feel compelled to attack." demanded Ankh sternly. She had no idea whatever it was Archer was trying to pull on her but whatever it was, it was not appreciated.
