He stood in the middle of the ball room, looking around, wide-eyed. Remembering her, the way they used to dance all the time together, she was the only one who he would dance with, and now...

He walked around the dancefloor, looking at the scuff marks of overeager dancing partners trying to show off. He use to do that, but only with her; his angel was the only thing that made him feel good, the only thing that would make him dance.

Slowly he walked to the outside porch and sat down on a bench, he looked at the stars, once again a memorable piece of the past that depressed his soul, the stars fed his longing for her warm body next to his on that floor. He always told her that you know when two people are meant for each other if you could look at them while they were dancing, if their hearts, souls, and bodies were in it, well, you just knew that they were destined to die in those dancing arms of the other.

"Why is she gone, why did she leave me...", he said sitting on the bench, looking up into the heavens. "Why was it I that had to be alone..."

Kristin entered the ballroom not noticing that someone was already there. The ballroom reminded her of some kind of palace, it was so beautiful. She walked to the certain of the room, and finally noticed the guy the was there. “Sorry I didn’t know someone was here.” She said with a apologetic smile. Kristin suddenly felt unwanted.

"No, no, I was feeling kinda down. I'm glad you showed up", he said rising to meet the young girl, she was very pretty, he really was glad she showed up. He walked slowly to the girl, looking in her eyes, there was something about her that made him want to stare at her. "My name is Lance, Lance McKain. Nice to meet you", he said putting his hand out to greet her.

Kristin shook his hand. “I’m Kristin Heaven. Do you mind if I ask why you feel that way?” Kristin asked him. She didn’t want to pry but she couldn’t help it Kristin was like that sometimes. It was a nice day and she was starting to feel better about the whole ‘tiger killing’ thing.

"Well, dancing is a very touchy part of me. See there was this girl, she was very beautiful, and we loved to dance. And being here helps me remember her, she was a talented dancer...", he was on the verge of tears, he turned and looked at the paintings on the walls. Looking away from her helped, she looked so much like her. 'Why does she look like her', her thought glancing at her every once in a while. "Do you dance?", he said, trying hard to start a conversation.

“When I was little I use to. I went to dancing classes with my sister until she died. I kind of stopped doing all the things I use to love.” Kristin said truthfully. It was one of the first times she was being honest to herself about her sister and usually she never spoke about her.

"Really, don't have any brothers or sisters", he said looking down, he turned and sat back down in a chair. He propped his head on his hand that was being supported by his knee. He looked up to her asking, "so, why did you come here? To the ball room I mean."

"Well it's really nice here and I didn't think anyone would be here." Kristin said honestly. Kristin liked her alone time but being so alone made her think of her sister and that hurt because she tried to foget everything about her ever since she died.

Kristin smiled and sat down. "I can um conjure up small blinding lights." Kristin said, she didn't like her 'powers' all that much but at least she had powers. She did like being different.
