Xhaiden walked down one of the numerous hallways. He normally would have just gone to the computer lab, but it was harder to think in there, with the rest of the computers making noise. He turned and looked in the ballroom. It was deserted. Perfect. He went out to the balcony and sat down, making sure he left the door open in case it locked from the inside or something.

He opened his ever-present lap top and hooked it up to his cell phone's wireless internet. Another reason why he should have just gone to the computer lab. But there was probably people there, and he had a hard time concentrating.

He checked his e-mail, replying to a few, deleting most. Then he turned on music-Kutless, of course, what else would he listen to?- And started working on homework for school.

It was really easy for him. Most things were, especially anything pertaining to reading. But sceince was his best. He'd actually built the computers at his aunts house.

"What do you mean, you don't want to work?" Tetris' annoyed voice floated through the halls. She'd never practiced silence, nor did she understand how to be quiet. Even in a strange conversation with a computer.

The computer beeped it's affirmative as she slammed into the first floor of the ballroom. She held up the tiny thing and glared at it. "You stupid thing. I created you." she growled at it, pressing the button with her thumbnail. The computer whirred and beeped, but it's light flashed, and the holographic screen began to come out.

She placed the little thing on the floor, and the the screen flashed up. The words on the screen were rather large and bold. 'I don't want to work,' the words said in bold.

She sighed in exasperation. "This is what I get for giving you a personality." she said, flailing her arms in frustration. Then she plopped down on the floor, glaring up at the bold, green words. "Well, when you're done being lazy we'll continue." she added, her voice obviously annoyed.

The computer word's changed, 'I shall,' it responded, before changing back to 'I don't want to work.'

Tetris growled.

Xhaiden looked up, startled, when a girl came into a room. She was extremely unique in appearance, and obviously in personality as well. And...she was talking to her...computer? It wasn't the normal size of a computer, but Xhaiden guessed that's what it was.

He paused his music in the midst of one of his favorite songs. "Um...having some trouble with your...computer?" He asked. It was totally uncharacteristic of him, after all, he didn't normally strike up conversations with people, especially perfect strangers. Especially NOT perfect strangers that were girls. But after all, this did pertain to a computer. And he was very, very curious about it.

He gently pushed his laptop away and stood up, walking over to her.

'Oh look. Another person.' the computer said, with a very cheerful beep.

Tetris looked up at the new arrival, and smiled at him. She really wasn't doing so well with the whole, hiding that you're from the future, thing. "Hi. Yeah.. I designed him to have a personality.. so sometimes he's too lazy to work." she said, in a very cheerful voice, though she cast a glare at the little tiny quarter-like thing on the floor.

The computer beeped again, the words changing, 'How do you know I'm not a she?' it asked.

Tetris glared at it. "Because I said so. That's why." she retorted, before returning her gaze to the closed laptop in Xhaiden's hands. She cocked her head, looking at the rectangular box with interest. She couldn't formulate a question that put forth her interest in the primitive computer, so instead, she said nothing, flicking her eyes to the computer just in time to catch it's next words.

'Good night.' It said, and then it sucked in it's screen, and turned off.

Tetris let out a sigh of exasperation. "One of these days I'd just going to turn you into a brush or something." she growled at the sleeping computer, scooping it up, and slipping it into her pouch, and then she added, "Of course the computer I create has to have jetlag.."

"Hi. Yeah.. I designed him to have a personality.. so sometimes he's too lazy to work."

Xhaiden was a little surprised. "You designed him yourself? And did you make him?" He asked. He'd never actually met anyone else before that made computers like he did, and definitely not anyone who made mini-computers with personalities that could carry conversations.

"Of course the computer I create has to have jetlag.."

Xhaiden just grinned and waited for her to reply to his first question. Even though she'd pretty much answered it. "Xhaiden." He introduced himself.

She smiled at him, "Sure I did. I make all sorts of things." she said cheerfully, playing with the sword at her waist absently.

"Nice to meet you Xhavier. I'm Tetris." she offered a hand to shake, eyes dancing cheerfully.

"Sure I did. I make all sorts of things."

"Yeah? What else have you made?" He asked. He took the hand that she extended. "Nice to meet you, Tetris." He said.
