Something was off. Causper wasn't quite sure what it was about this apartment. It always seemed cleaner than when she'd left it. She'd experimented with leaving food on the table, dirty glasses in the sink, and deliberately staining the countertop with grape jelly. The jam was gone and the stain was faded by the time she woke up. Always, whatever she'd left undone would be finished in the morning, or when she got home from work. Causper was pretty sure Leo was starting to think she was insane.

To resolve this, she'd set a trap. Using pieces from an old Mousetrap game. It was the best she could think of and it was nearing 2 am. She hoped the... Creature? Ghost? Magic.. Thing? Would show up before she passed out.

It was the middle of the night, as it usually was when Mita ventured out into her new home. She scurried around, looking for something to clean. Her new housemates were very messy, and had even left jam just spilled on the counter. Mrs. Abernathy would have been very displeased wit their lack of manners. Still, she didn't really mind cleaning it up. It was in her nature after all.

As she moved into the kitchen from the hole in the wall she used to get around the house, she immediately saw the trap. It was poorly made, by the looks of it. Personally, she was a little insulted at its crude design. But the most important thing that this made clear to Mita was that her housemates were aware of her presence, at least a little. So there was little point in hiding anymore. But how to introduce herself?

Mita scampered around the trap, looking at its mechanical workings as she figured out how to improve it. She poked at the string that held part of it together, and heard the little plastic cage fall down. It landed right on top of her, and Mita mentally kicked herself for getting caught in such a simple trap. She tried to lift it up off of her, but it was weighted down with something! Not as simple as she first imagined after all.

Mita squeaked in frustration, crossing her arms and sitting down to think about how to get out of this predicament.

Leo was quite confused on Causper's paranoia. He didn't just say she was crazy and moved on, he knew better then that. If the psychic spider demon had a weird suspicion, most of the time it was true. Or her just wanting to snuggle, but this was definitely the former predicament. However, when she set up a trap to catch a mouse from a board game, then Leo got a bit concerned. She insisted that it would work, but Leo figured that they had a poltergeist or some other paranormal creature in their apartment. It's a pretty safe bet given their past experiences.

So, when Leo went to go check on the trap for Causper and saw a rather small person trapped in such a poorly constructed trap....Well, he would repay his doubts with lion snuggles or something. He flicked on the lights, assuming Causper would emerge to see their other roommate.

"Well, this is an awkward first introduction."

Causper groaned and rubbed her face. A light poured out over her face from the kitchen. The kitchen? She'd turned that light out before moving to the couch. Which meant that Leo was awake? And in the kitchen? And... Talking to someone.

The sleepy spider girl shuffled over to the kitchen and rested her forehead on Leo's back, absently wrapping her arms around him.

"what's going on? Did we get a phone call?"

Mita looked up at her captors with a mixture of fear and self-depreciating anger. She had gotten caught so easily. Her parents would be so disappointed. And what did these big folk have planned for her? As panic flooded the Inchling's mind, she saw her best case scenario as being that they simply threw her out, and she would have to find somewhere else to live.

But her time spent with Mrs. Abernathy reminded her of her manners. Standing up as best as she could in her tiny cage, she shuffled her feet and offered a meek curtsy.

"E-elo..."

Well, for being trapped by people who literally tower over her, she seems to have a great manners. Always a good thing to have when captured. And she was pretty cute in a weird way. Not as cute as Causper thinking he was on the phone, of course. But that may be a bit of a biased opinion.

"No, dear. It seems your suspicions were correct."

Leo reached down, gently lifting the trap and setting it off to the side. No reason to keep her under there, it'd be rather rude of them to.

"Sorry about that. Didn't mean to trap you. Pleasure to meet you. I'm Leo. And this is the girl who first started getting the feeling you were here."

"oh."

Causper peered around Leo, blinking sleepily at the tiny person. She had been right. There was something here doing the cleaning. Or, more accurately, there was someone. She was kinda cute, and very well mannered. Leo freed the tiny person from the trap and Causper began dismanteling it.

"sooooo hi. I'm Causper. The landlord didn't mention anything about a tiny housemaid, so I assume he didn't know. Which is kinda dangerous. Dogs could eat you, or you could get trapped in the vacuum cleaner, etc, etc, I'm sure you probably know."

Causper yawned. God, what time was it? She didn't have the focus for this.

"just don't sleep on the floor and you'll probably be fine."

Mita scurried up onto the kitchen counter where she could get a closer look at the big folk. She tried not to look at the trap, which she was still embarrassed about being caught by.

"'Elo again. Mita is..." she paused and caught herself. Starting again, she spoke slowly so as not to make a mistake again. "I am Mita Bran. I am sorry for intruding. And thank you for worrying about me, but I will be fine."

She paused, her tail twitching inquisitively. "Are you not going to make Mita leave?"

Quite the climber, this Mita was. He would really love to ask her a few questions about what she was and her life, but it was a bit too late at night to do anything. As to making her leave, well...

'Well, Miss Mita, I have no reason for making you leave. You aren't here to hurt us, and we do kind of owe you all the messes we left you to clean for the past few days."

Causper eyed the tiny creature. She was joking right? Why would they expect her to leave? She wasn't a pest. There was no health code violation to having her in the house.

"Did you... not just hear me? Don't sleep on the floor and you'll be fine. In other words. Sleep somewhere we won't accidentally step on you or vaccuum you, or drop things on you. You can stay. Hell, if you asked we could even bring you on errands or to the school with us."

Causper yawned, slumping heavier on Leo. She wondered if this little person was always awake at this hour.
