Judas Anderson strode numbly into the cafeteria, the sensor in his hand tracking the different energy levels of the various students in the room, a smirk across his face as he took a seat in an empty table, looking down slightly distastefully at the food.
"Hmmph. Not bad, but not as bad as my chef at home."
Besides, he had other ways to gain energy. Far more brutal tactics.

Lunch.

Veronica sighed, flipping open her wallet and paying the bored sounding girl behind the counter.
She hated lunch. Normally she'd just go out to the city and find a nice cafe to eat at, but she was lazy today and had resigned herself to the horrible cafeteria food.

She picked up her tray, listening for a moment and heading in the quietest direction of the cafeteria where it'd be the most likely that she'd be able to find an empty table.
It was crowded today, however, and she finally settled on what sounded like a male seated at the corner. He wasn't chewing loudly, or talking, and she assumed him to be a loner type who wouldn't bother with a conversation.

She dropped her tray on the counter unceremoniously, sliding into the seat across from the boy and propping her cane up on the table beside her. "No, you don't know me," She announced boredly, sniffing her salad for a few seconds before finally deeming it fit for consumption and plunging her plastic fork into it.

He smirked.
"Frankly, I don't know anyone in this boorish place. Nice cane by the way, I have a swordcane of my own."

Veronica mirrored his smirk without realizing it, raising an eyebrow at the table to her right. It had been less then a minute, and their high pitched shrieks of surprise at the latest gossip had already started to annoy her. "You're lucky." She muttered, turning back to her limp salad and taking another bite.

"Thank you, I suppose." She allowed, unconsciously touching a hand to the red and white striped stick to her left. "Do you have it with you?" She loved swords, although she hadn't had a chance to practice with them since she'd arrived at the academy. She'd need to look around the city, see if they had any decent ones for sale... Judas smiled grimly.
"Yes, yes, I'd rather not associate with the likes of them."
He slowly reached down under the table and brought out a black cane, within which a sword must've been concealed.
"My father's, or so I'm told, you can never trust the past these days, it has a tendency to broil and burn."

Although she couldn't see him, Veronica could hear him hold up the cane, and she tentatively reached out a hand to lightly glide across the smooth surface. "He had good taste," She said, not doubting that the man in question was dead, although she had no idea why. "You don't remember him, then." It was hardly a question, although she was curious for an answer.

He shrugged, pushing the cane across the table towards her so she could inspect it closer.
"The past is irrelevant for me, I don't remember my father or mother, though I'm told I once did..."

The ghost of a smile crossed her face, and she accepted the cane, inspecting it for a few moments before handing it back to him. "Yet another student without a past..." She mused, pushing away a lock of ebony hair that had managed to drop from her ponytail. "At least there's one who doesn't seem obsessed with the matter."

A pause, and "Veronica," she announced out of the blue, holding out a hand in the direction of his voice. "Pleasure."

He accepted her hand with his silk-gloved metal hand, the texture and coldness of it evident.
"And a pleasure to meet you. I am Judas Anderson."

The only sign that she noticed was a small raise of an eyebrow, and then she dropped the subject from her mind for the moment and nodded lightly.
"You're infamous around here, aren't you?" She tilted her head to the side, slightly interested. "I've not heard much of you, I admit, but even what I've heard makes me wonder what would happen if everyone like them knew you were back." She nodded to her right once more, turning back to him and raising an eyebrow. "Or do they already, and that's what they're discussing so... Forcefully."
