"Here you go miss!" whispered Amber as she returns several books to the librarian whom was sitting behind her her desk. The elderly woman smiles to Amber and takes the books, setting them aside as she types something in the computer screen in front of her. With one set of books returned, Amber spins in place and looks upon the vast rows shelves packed with books. While it was a bit late, she figured that she had time to pick out a few more interesting books for her enjoyment since she was already here. So the young spiderling marches down one of the aisles, her eyes peeling over the spines of books jutting out, waiting to see a title that struck her. As she moves further and further down, she comes across an open reading area that had a few tables and chairs and even beanbags. In this area there was only a single soul hunched over reading some book. Amber couldn't help but look at the person as she passed by, curious of the lonely reader. She was almost about to move onto the next aisle of books when she came to a sudden stop at the realization that she recognize this person.

"J-joe?!" ask Amber, sounding unsure even as she drew closer "Is that you?"

Before Joe had the opportunity to reply to her, Amber wore a wide smile goes to try to hug her friend.

"Oh Joe is so good to see you! I haven't seen you in while! How have you been mean? Have you... been coupe up in this library since I last saw you?" asked Amber, her last question she intended as joke. Still she was ecstatic to see her friend after what felt like... a long time!

Joseph didn't know how long he'd been sitting there for, there must have been five open books around him with one of his many note books right in front of him. He had been correcting and figuring things out all day, taking certain books and comparing the information from his notes and other books to get the most accurate information. While this was a pretty smart idea it was also a very slow one, but Joe didn't mind he didn't have anything else to do and he very much enjoyed seeing where he was right and interesting things that were wrong. His eyes had bags under them, he looked tired but he didn't seem so in his mood dimly smiling as he looked down at the pages.

At first he thought he was hearing things, maybe his mother had come looking for him? He peered over and saw Amber, his eyes grey slightly wider surprised to see her, well they did both go to the library a lot. He timidly hugged her back, usually he'd object to something like this but Amber was one of his closest friends and it had been quite a while.

"Oh... umm" he didn't understand if she was kidding or not at first but then he picked up on it. "heh... yea I've just been you know... living off the books and such" he rolled his hand in the air as he said this. "I'm... fine.. i guess I've just been writing a lot more.. but that's not really new now is it...." he looked to the side for a moment his dim smile still spread across his face.

When he turned to give Amber a hug, Amber embraced it. As they hugged, it was only then she saw the heavy bags under Joe's eyes and his tired expression. Amber blinks, her joy turns to concern as she wheres a slight frown on her face.

"Whoa... ummm how long exactly have you been at this? You look... ummm... exhausted. I mean... I know that your always working hard on your research but..." she stares at Joe for a moment, then smiles as she brings over a bean bag chair so that she can sit comfortably next to him.

"Well... how about you put the books aside and tell me everything else you have been doing? Like I said, its been awhile since I last say you I just wanted to make that everything is going okey with you."

He had been there for quite a long time but he didn't really care much he wasn't sleepy in the slightest, although his body was probably tired. "Uhmm.... d-don't worry its just how i look.... i'm not tired.... but.. i have been at this for... well a while..." he said with a nod.

He rested his hand on his cheek while he listen to her, it had been a while since he had a conversation like this. "Ok.. sound good, one thing more important then knowledge is... family and friends" he said as he closed all the books and book marking them all with torn pieces of paper, stacking them and putting them to the side. "Well.. I've just been here mostly... learning more... preparing my self for things... i've also been trying a lot stuff with my powers.... like taking certain metal things apart and seeing if i can.... you know make the same thing with my powers" he said slowly nodding to him self and looking to the side thinking."Oh.... hows the gang a-and of course... how are you... you're like one of my best friends... i should have talked more but.. it slipped my mind...".

"Awww... thanks! Well, now is as good of time to start talking as any~ Just not too too loudly since we are in a library still..." remarked Amber. As if right on que, a blob like person that Amber could only describe as a gooey black potato with over a dozen eyes, two think trunks for legs and inky tendrils happens to lumber past the reading area. Some of its eyes watch both her and Joe as they pass but instead of stopping the peculiar looking person controls to march their way slowly down the library. After watching them pass, her attention settles back on her friend Joseph.

"Anyway, thanks for setting aside your books for me. Tired or not, everyone needs a break from studying now and then. So aside from being here in the library what else have you been doing? Anything with your family since we are on the subject of family and friend? I mean... have all sorts of things going on with my own family. The most exciting thing that I am looking forward to is me going with my my mom to have breakfast with some of the animals at the local zoo. Pretty exciting right? So... anything like that going on in your life?"

"Mmhm.... i haven't done much talking... in a while, mostly just with my mom... and its nothing special" he said shrugging."And you know me..... i'm not one to be loud..." he came to a full stop as he watched the blob person move by. He suddenly had the urge to start writing and looking up what it was on the spot but that would have to wait, he wanted to talk with her, it felt really nice just interacting with someone he didn't have to be nervous around.

He felt a bit bad since he didn't really have much to say, his only family that he currently knew of was his mother and that other person he dare not ever bring up in a friendly talk like this. Amber was always so talkative and in the best way, she always seemed good at keeping a conversation going or change subjects if needed, Joe wished he knew how to talk with people that good, only thing that came even close to that was the occasional snarky comments that he loved to make. He placed a hand on his chin and looked away for a moment, thinking for a moment before looking back at her."Well... like i said i haven't been doing much besides... perfecting my work.. uhh but i help mom at the shop as often as i can.... sometimes i see people that are familiar there.... the zoo sounds nice! Uhmm... i haven't been to one but... I've read about it, must be even better if its here right?".

"Oh! It was... amazing! They had this thing where as a family you can have breakfast with some of the zoo animals. I got to feed and pet a hippogriff and a jackalope!" yelps Amber in her excitement, then covers her mouth as she realized that she may have been a little too long. She quickly glances around to see if she was bothering anyone but it seemed that it was only her and Joe in this area of the library at the moment.

"Opps... was a little loud there... but if you ever wanted to see all of creatures at the zoo them maybe you should ask you mom to take you there sometime?" suggested Amber, making sure to use her inside voice for now on. Her eyes lingered on the tomes sitting on the table, she thinks for a moment before looking back to Joe and asking "Say, you know everything going on with Dalia right? How she is a little... sick? Well... I am just wondering if you happened to read anything about illnesses that relates to one's soul? Specifically on a soul that is tearing itself apart?"

Given how busy Joe has always been... he might be exactly be aware of Dalia's condition. Most people whom knew Dalia already heard the story but given how recluse Joe has been recently he might be one of the few people whom may not have known. Heck there was a lot of things going on in her family but the fact that Dalia's soul was literally ripping itself apart was the most pressing thing at the moment. She trusted the moms to be looking into ways to fix Dalia but... part of her hoped that maybe there is something that she can learn from Joe that could help Dalia. She didn't mean to worry her friend Joe like this but he was always one of the smarter kids at school so... maybe now was as good of time to ask him as any if he could think of anything to help Dalia.

Joe mustered a tiny grin on his face while she explained how the trip was. It made him happy that she and most likely the others were having fun without him, most people would have disliked the idea but Joe felt it was nice since he would hate to stop anyone from having fun just because he wasn't around, plus the joy of his friends made him happy in general."Mmm... yea i think that would be a good idea.... i mean... we both have been busy doing... stuff.. time with her is... really important to me" he said his smile dropping back to his dull expression that he usually had on.

Joe's face started to drop more and more as he heard what Amber had to say about Dalia. She had been his first friend, well his first friend besides his mother of course. He looked away from her and stared at the table his hands shaking a little, his breathing getting more heavy and fast. He wasn't there, he was too busy doing other things, he should have know this for him self. For a few moments the world faded around him, he was lost in thought, what kind of friend isn't there in a time like this. Hell if he had knew this he probably would have spend as much time as i it to help her."Oh... no.. i-i-i uhh" he was lost for words just staring at the table with big eyes and a slight frown. He turned to look to Amber with the same expression he had as he looked down at the table laying a hand sloppily over his mouth, made little sounds attempting to put words together but he just couldn't.

It was at the moment that Joe's face began to droop that Amber knew: he didn't know. Part of her felt guilty informing him about Dalia's condition like this. He was Dalia's friend before he was her friend and she could see that it pained him to only just learn of this. Part of her suspected that he may not have known but seeing his reaction made Amber grimace, realizing that she blundered up everything by not treading onto the subject tactfully.

"O-oh gosh... you- I'm sorry that I laid this onto you all so suddenly. I s-should not have assumed that- look d-don't worry about too much. Dalia... Dalia is unwell but she has people whom love her very much looking into ways that would make her better. It was really inappropriate of me laying it out on you like this." frantically apologized Amber, feeling guilt over the how Joseph must be feeling. It wasn't his fault that he didn't know... but it was her fault in how he let him know.

"Gosh... I shouldn't have asked you that... Dalia would kill me for making her friends worry for her like this..." lamented Amber, her right hand pulling on her long lilac hair if she punishing herself. She wasn't even sure why... she just felt... stressed at the moment.

He didn't see it that Amber made him upset, he was glad to know just the whole idea of one of his good friends just going through something so painful made him cringe. He took a few moments to collect him self before trying to fix all the awkwardness, it was nice how it was before and he really did enjoy Amber's company. "H-hey.... its fine its fine, i'm just shocked i'm not used to.... dealing with this" As he talked he placed his hand on hers and gently stopped her from hurting her self keeping his hand there to insure she didn't do it again, he took another deep breath mustering up some confidence. "You're right... Dalia is a strong person and she's got lots of friends and family to help her... uhmm i-i'm sure she'll be fine! .... I'm positive!" Joe said with a lot more emotional tone in his voice a rare thing to witness.

After processing things more he realized that he was still holding her hand and pulled it back blushing a little bit. "S-sorry... i didn't realize i was.. still umm.... doing that... i hope i didn't make you uncomfortable.... i hope we can still talk i really do love talking to you...". She could probably tell he was trying to get back to that dull, less emotional state.
