Rory was decidedly uncomfortable. The idea of therapy. Hell, therapy wasn't a word her mother had ever even uttered. Rory couldn't name a time her mom had cursed therapy but Rory had never heard of it, either.

So sitting in the waiting room to be seen next was a nerve-wracking experience. Rory supposed there was plenty she could have mentioned. So much she wanted to say, but there wasn't a point in saying it anymore. The people she wanted to talk to were dead. The land she wanted to see was gone.

Things were hard. But not hard enough for therapy, right?

Vinna finished writing up some notes she had on her last Client before turning off the monitor to the computer before standing up and stretching a moment. After which she put things in the room in order, a simple readjusting of cushions and chairs before opening the door to her last client of the day, a new client but everyone needed time to talk with people.

Seeing the athletic girl sitting in her waiting room Vinna smiled warmly and spoke up. "Mrs. Phillips, if it would please you, please come inside." Vinna motioned to the inside of her office room. She herself was to one side of the door with plenty of space for the woman to enter without brushing Vinna. She really didn't want another incident with someone who's had intimate contact with another person.

Rory jumped up and immediately made way to the room. Once she was actually inside the office, it was a little weird finding somewhere to sit. Both facing her therapist and trying not to look too hard at her.

"Sorry, I don't know how to start this?" She thought about it. "Officer Genovese wanted me to get therapy for, uh, the homeworld. It went boom. Not literally. But it was eaten."

Rory even made an explosion noise and motion with her hands. She'd always had the habit of being inappropriate when nervous.

Vinna's current client seemed to be quite prone to sudden movements. It actually made Vinna jump in surprise at their actions. But they quickly moved inside and sat down. Once sitting Vinna calmly moved over to the opposite couch and sat down facing Mrs. Phillips. They started out with saying that they were sorry about how to be in therapy.

They also said that Officer Genovese wanted them to come to therapy. Nodding Vinna smiled and spoke up after another small jump but she quickly gathered her own composure. "Well, usually I'll ask a few small questions to to get to know more about how you are and how I can help."

"First off, if you are up to it. I'd like to ask you Mrs Phillips. Would you prefer me to call you by any other name? And if feel like you can, I'd love to hear how you've been adjusting to life here before this incident has happened."

"Rory is fine," she said.

And, although it was slight, Rory still noticed how her therapist jumped when she made sudden movements. Was Ms. Summers nervous around her? Rory was sort of used to that. Intensity made most people nervous. She'd keep it in mind. Try not to move too much or too sudden.

"Uh, well. I came here because of that incident. So I haven't had much time to adjust to the island. I guess I'm doing okay? Not as good as my team... Things are weird here." And Rory wasn't sure if she should be going into that point at all. Weird just seemed the easiest way to define it all.

When Rory said that they would prefer that Vinna to use their nickname. Nodding in acknowledgement she listened to what the girl had to say. And how they explained that they were still new to the island. Nodding Vinna spoke up. "That would lead to a disconnect. Could you describe what was your life before was like?"

"Of course Rory, you don't have to tell me anything you don't wish to share." Vinna stayed still as she waited for Rory's response.

Rory nodded slowly, resting her hands on her lap. "Well, I was a superhero. I led my team. Uh.. my dad was the vessel of the most powerful man on the planet."

She rubbed the back of her neck, thinking about it. "I... Uh. I guess I... Well I used to have breakfast with this guy, a good friend of mine, almost every morning. Then I didn't."

Rory looked around for kleenex.
