Thinking of my new Home

I head out of the Headmistress's office, and back towards my room. I stop in, seeing if anybody has moved in with me yet. I realize no one has, so I grab my thick sketch book off of my bed and then pull a pencil out of a small bag. I turn around and head up to the third story of the school.

I look at the hallways, filled with dust, and I get kind of annoyed that a school this popular can't keep itself clean. But I think about it further, and kind of like it. I find a small doorway at then end of the hallway. I push on the door, but it doesn't budge. I push a little harder, fogetting of my strength, and I bust the old door right off of it's hinges. I fall with it, landing on a set of stairs hard.

I stand up, and frantically move up the stairs. When I get to the top, I'm on a balcony with bars as an edge. I look over the edge, and look out at the vast land around my new home. It's beautiful. I sit down in a corner of the place, and start sketching my view of the land, hoping that someone comes up here and I can make a friend.

Aletia was sitting upon the roof top, hiding cunningly in the shadows. This academy looked like a pretty exciting place, but, other than the Forbidden area which she had not ventured into, it was actually like an ordinary school, only with people with powers. A sigh escaped her lips, as the 12-year-old girl soon stood up, bored of sitting down on the tiled roof.

"Wonder if anyone to talk to is here..." she wondered. As if on cue, a shadow emerged at the corner of her eye. Curious, she turned round, her blue eyes shining. Her view turned to the towers, as a boy, by what it seemed like, was viewing the landscape of the school. True, the place was nice and well kept apart from the third floor, but was it that amazing?

The wind picked up, lifting Aletia towards the tower. Soon she saw the boy, sketching the view. That would have explained why he was looking. A smile appeared on Aletia's face. The boy seemed older than her, 5-years older probably, but he could be a friend.

"Hey, I'm Aletia. Nice view, isn't it?" she said innocently, hoping she wouldn't make a fool of herself.

"It's a very nice view!"

He looks up from his very elaborate sketch of the landscape and looks at the girl who appears five years yonger than her.

"My name is Chandler. Chandler Ross!"

He stands up and extends his hand, which has the word 'FIRE' written across his knuckles, to shake the yong woman's hand.

She smiled, shaking Chandler's hand. "Nice to meet you, Chandler!" she said, happily. She then noticed the word Fire on his hand, around the knuckles.

"Hey, what are your powers?" Aletia asked, wondering if he could control fire.

"Well, I don't know if you would call it a 'power', per say, but I'm extremely strong. Other than that, I have the power to manipulate fire. I can't create it, but...watch this."

Chandler reaches into his pocket and pulls out a black zippo lighter. He opens the lid and flicks it on. He glares at the flame, and flicks his hair out of his eyes. He lifts his open arm and extends it. The flame shoots out of the lighter creating a fire ball. He raises his arm, the ball levitating just above it. He throws the ball and it disappears into the lake.

He looks to Aletia, waiting to see the expression on her face.

Aletia's eyes widened, their gaze never leaving the fire. "Wow... Pretty useful if Judas Anderson attacks you. He can control Fire, I hear. But wow, able to control fire, or at least manipulate it... All I can do is control Wind."

Of course, Aletia knew part of her statement wasn't true. She was impressed, but what if a strange thing had happened with the fire? Weird things with that and other elements have been happening around her, and another accident could have occured.

Aletia looked at his sketch book. It had a lot of lines, and was looking like a picture slightly, but it wasn't as good as it could be. That's what you get for interupting someone when they are drawing, Aletia a voice popped in her head. "Hey, you pretty good at drawing?" she asked, curious.

He smirks, and looks down at his sketchbook.

"You tell me!"

He opens it up to a page near the front of the book. The sketch is a picture of him, dressed in black armour. He is engulfed in fire, but it isn't hurting him, it's helping him. Their is a dragon in front of him, attacking him. But the dragon is getting attacked by him in return.

He looks up at Aletia, waiting for her reply.

Aletia gazed at the picture, taking in every single detail. It was extremly good. "I really like it! Where did you get the idea?" Aletia looked at him, waiting for the reply.

Chandler looks back down at the drawing, remembering when he was 13 years old, the day he drew this picture.

"I was about...13 years old. It was when I was first realizing that I had extreme strength. I had a dream...and it started out that I was just standing there...dressed in just normal clothing."

He looks up at Aletia, checking to see if she was paying attention.

"But then suddenly I was staring into the eyes of a large dragon, and I was wearing warrior armour. I was engulfed in flames and throwing fire at him. The number 20 appeared as the dream faded to darkness, and when I woke up it was 8:20 pm, which in military time would be 20:20. The television set was on, channel 20, and a show called 20/20 was aired. My Stereo was blared, and a song was playing by the band Matchbox 20. It was incredibly strange...and that's why I want to learn about my powers. I have a strange feeling that I will be staring into the eyes of a black dragon when I'm 20 years old..."

Aletia nodded, taking everything into account. It was certainly freaky if that had happened, but then he probably would have never come to the school if that hadn't happened.

"That would be weird, wouldn't it? I would hate if that happened, but then you probably wouldn't have come to the school. How long you been to the school? I've been here a week or so."
