Amy stood at the edge of whatever this place was. It looked similar to a forest, just more creepy and well I dunno, the several signs saying "Forbidden" and "Go back" didn't make it seem any less scary. Amy didn't much care, sure she was scared, but it should be quiet here, and besides she had Shadow with her. It was about 12:00 at night, and being an insomniac she was wide awake. Not only that, but she became restless at night, and pacing soon was not enough, she needed to explore, to think, to be out, and to feel the chill of the night. Her dark eyes caught everything, and her mind raced. Sure this place was probably very dangerous, but who cared? It was better than going to the mall, and if the headmistress got mad at her, she would explain her reasons for entering such a place. Shadow on the other hand, stood taller than she, and was alert. Every muscle in his magnificent body was ready to spring on a moments notice. He scented the air lightly, nothing to fear for now, all was silent except for their breathing which rose up in visible puffs, and the soft whisper of the wind through the trees.

After standing there in awe for a good ten minutes, Amy looked at Shadow. "Come on, lets go." She said taking a step, he stopped her and lowered himself so his stomach almost touched the ground. Amy understood and climbed upon his back, sitting halfway down his back. His large form then descended into the unknown. He stalked stealthily for such a large animal, and for this Amy was thankful. She was alert, and looked at everything they passed as thoroughly as she could. A few times she stopped Shadow to listen to a certain sound that seemed eerily beautiful, and more mysteriously exciting than it was scary.

(Woot!! lol yey? Yeah anyways, I like roleplaying an insomniac, its fun... << >> Yay for not being able to sleep!)

A new scent was farther ahead, almost the complete opposite of Shadow's. Golden eyes, currently green from the moonlight, looked at them from somewhere close. Fur rippled over taunt muscles, hidden by shadows currently. The creature shrifted slowly the closer they drew. When Shadow's scent reached the other's nostril's a low growl emitted deep from their chest, too low for human ears. Claws pressed into the ground for a moment as the creature shifted.

Amy hadn't heard the growl, no she was more interested in the soft hoot of an owl, one of her favorite birds. Shadow had heard it, and he tensed releasing a growl from his fanged maw. "I know you're here, if you don't come out now, there will be trouble, so I suggest you identify yourself before my sharp nose and fangs do that for you." His threat, if threat it was, would of course be done, but not in pleasure, no, he only strove to protect what he thought of as his younger sibling. Amy heard his growl and looked at him. "Whats up?" She whispered into his large ear, lowering herself to a more laying position on his back in case a good run was needed to perhaps escape an enemy. She of course could use fire, but it drained her energy, and she didn't want to burn anything she didn't need to.

Another growl was heard, the threat easily heard by both. 'You'll have better luck with your nose than your fangs. Ive no reason to come out and you'll most likely be hurt before I will be.' Farther from the creature a small flame formed, moving along for a moment before disapearing.

Shadow snarled, and to this Amy took her own cue. She closed her eyes and breathed two words under her breath. "Flaming stallion" to be exact, in a few moments a horse of sheer fire was in front of Shadow, he was bigger than it, but that didn't matter. The horse took off running, and Shadow followed at an easy lope behind it, if the horse was attacked, then he would be able to find the source of the voice faster, if not, then he would use the nose of his, and well his sheer size was enough to keep him safe from most attacks, fire wasn't one of them, but Amy could probably take care of that. "I honestly suggest you come out, we have no reason to fight you if you simply show yourself."

Body shrank away from thew light, not wanting the spell to give them away so easily. "Wheres the fun in just that? Besides canine, your nose needs the practice if you havent found me already." Was the only anwser. Again a fire ball appeared far from her and disapeared after a few moments.

Shadow let off another growl, it was louder, and his fur stood up on its ends. "hehehehe, and whats to say I haven't eh kitty-kat?" He was now taunting her, he knew she wasn't just a "kitty-kat" but who cared? He was probably bigger than she, and he really had no intention of fighting. Amy on the other hand looked around, hugging the rough mane that was Shadow's. She was alert, and if worse came to worse she would fight, Shadow didn't like it so he never fought unless he absolutely needed to.

Her voice as she spoke was more a purr, lips curling into a smile it seemed. "You havent seemed to try and do something, like you threatened." She anwsered, this time in human so the girl could understand. The lioness' tail twitched lightly, making no sound as she shifted, all power going into her legs, as if to pounce.

The wolf smirked. "Ahh, yes well, I never was one to hurt a lady." He grinned through his furry lips, his eyes dancing with the pale moonlight that fought its way through the trees. Amy smirked, she loved Shadow's sense of humor, it was very much like her own, and for that, well she seemed very much more like his family. "Here kitty, kitty." He cooed slyly, his muscles tensed as he prepared to leap away in case of an attack from his gentle taunts.

She laughed, the sound rumbling almost like a growl. "Maybe that could be your undoing." She anwsered and leaped. Wings spread and flames surrounded them, giving her a hellish glow as she seemed to reach for him. THe golden orbs that were her eyes held a laughter, not a seriousness you would expect of one attacking the other. At the last minute she twisted her body and landed gracefully next to him, head in reach of the girl. "I Wouldnt call me that, I havent called you pup or mutt yet, have I?" She asked.
