Frysta was enjoying his time at the beach, several people he was pretty well acquainted with as well as a couple new faces. And then of course, there was Ysolda who he was admittedly the most happy to see. Since their date, things seemed to be going rather smoothly. They hung out, and had fun, well that is until the volleyball game came to a rather abrupt end. One of their opponents took a spike to the face from Ysolda. The mood was understandably a little soured after that. Everyone sort of dispersed after that.

There was a brief internal debate on whether or not he should let her be alone for a bit, or immediately go after her. Frysta decided both was the best choice in this situation. After about a half hour he began flying up the beach, away from the unseasonable warmth in search of Ysolda. It wasn't long before he found her in a rather secluded section. He'd made his descent, shifted back into his human form, and sat down next to her.

"I figured I'd let you cool off for a bit. But I also figured I shouldn't let you freeze."

Ysolda was, admittedly, having a ton of fun. This was one of the first times she'd come out in public and not been openly ridiculed or aggravated.

She was certain that Alexis was sggravaagg from being hit in the face, but it truly had been an accident. But much like herself, he just needed time to cool off. So she had taken a swim of her own and decided to come back on a lesser populated part of the beach.

She heard Frysta before she smelled him and looked up with an enthusiastic smile. "Frysta, darling. Sorry I didn't announce my leave. I just wanted to swim and clear my head. I was going to head back soon."

Her relationship with Frysta had been really pleasant thus far. He was kind and gentle, but he didn't patronize her. She patted the sand next to her for him to take a seat, smiling s bit wider up at him.

"There's no need to apologize, sometimes you just have to get away. But hey, looks like it was some good timing on my part," he smiled back at her and sat down beside her. For as noble and proper as she was, Ysolda didn't seem that different from most people he'd met on the island. Her upbringing was different, but then again a lot of people's were. Yet for whatever reason no one seemed willing to help her adjust.

Frysta, looked at her, then out at the ocean. "So, you're feeling alright then? We don't have to head back if you don't want to."

Ysolda shook her head as Frysta sat beside her, leaning ever so slightly against his arm. "I'm feeling fine. I realize I can't do anything but apologize for harming Alexis. If he doesn't accept it, I've done my part."

"I don't mind staying here though for a bit longer. The crowds are not bad, but being away from the noise is nice. And having such pleasant company to enjoy the relative quiet with helps."

Frysta nodded, it was about all that could be done about the situation as things were. Alexis was sort of agro, but he didn't seem like the type to outright refuse to accept an apology. Just sort of stumble through saying things were fine.

"Well I'm glad you're alright. I was worried you might still be um dwelling on it," part of him felt like he should do more. Lean on her a little, hold her hand, something. He inched a bit closer, just enough to hint that it was alright to lean on him a bit more. "You know, you're pretty good company too. And we make a pretty decent team... for volleyball at least."

"No, I have been trying not to dwell. Moving past my missteps."

Ysolda took that hint and buried her face against Frysta's shoulder, slipping her arm inside of his so that she could hug it a bit. He wasn't too warm and he wasn't hurt by her ice swimsuit, so he was arguably perfect for being this close to.

She smiled a bit wider and gave a small shrug. "Of course we are. We are dragons. You did well though. I was thoroughly impressed."

He wasn't quite sure when he'd started, but moving forward was sort of what brought him to the point he was at now. Their backgrounds were different, but they were still both sort of similar. Just trying to find their places to fit in. Frysta was admittedly still in mild disbelief that Ysolda said yes when he asked. That now they were sitting together on a beach just enjoying each other's company.

"Well it's good to know my efforts to show off for you paid off then," Frysta laughed and rested his head against hers. "Honestly though it's been a while since I've actually had this much fun. Or... rather let myself have this much fun."

"I haven't really stopped myself from having fun, but a lot of what my peers here find fun aren't the sorts of things I grew up doing. I feel like an Other much of the time. But today I didn't feel that way, in no small part thanks to you."

Something about the way Frysta said that he hadn't had fun in a while made Ysolda frown just a bit. She gave his arm a squeeze, nuzzling his shoulder ever so slightly. "You should let yourself have fun though. Marric says that taking yourself too seriously will give you a brain aneurysm. And you can't effectively lead your clan if you are a vegetable, yes?"

She gave a small, knowing smile. Ysolda could tell a joke, amazingly.

"I guess it is kinda hard to get your hands on a catapult around here. But maybe I could help you try new things. Everything's better with good company."

Frysta raised an eyebrow at Ysolda, that was definitely a joke. He wasn't expecting it to come out so casually, not to say she wasn't capable. Still, she was right. and it was becoming more and more apparent to him.

"Well, when I was younger everyone said I was a ball of energy. That all changed when my parents were killed. Something between that sudden realization that I needed to be ready, and that I was all alone. I was the "next chief" and not well... me. I thought fun was a luxury. Now I guess you could say I'm finding my way back..."

"I-I am not allowed to operate a catapult anymore, actually," she replied with a slightly nervous laugh and a brief flush of pink to her cheeks.

Ysolda watched Frysta, her eyes doing nothing to betray the concern she felt for him in that moment. She traced patterns along his arm with her fingers while she considered what he'd said.

"I can't imagine what that must be like. But you are wrong about one thing. You aren't alone Frysta. Even if you don't want the support of your community, you have my support. And I know my clan will support you as well if you need it."

She paused again, smiling softly. Leaning up s bit, Ysolda kissed Frysta gently on the cheek as she'd seen her mother do for her father when he'd had a rough day.
