Daenmor got a few more bites in, doing his best to tear up Fweiu's back and set her up for further attacks later. He didn't even stop her from kneeing him in the chest, feeling some of his ribs crack in his chest and suddenly breathing was hard. time for step two.

Shifting back to his human form, Daenmor slipped out of Fweiu's grip but was met immediately by her massive knee which his him square in the chest. He flew like a punted football, bouncing along the arena floor with a significant dent in his torso. Then with a rush of adrenaline through his veins, he reinflated like a car tire and sat up, his wounds healing rapidly enough to watch.

"So you listen as well as the old man. Good to know," he said, standing up and resuming a fighting stance, still in human form.

Fweiu shrank back down to her own human form. The back of her top was becoming wet with blood. Ice began to lift itself off of the arena ground, floating back to her where it would orbit around her again.

She definitely took offense at his last comment. It also made her feel like, maybe, this wasn't working. She almost began to consider the idea that, maybe, this wasn't actually a smart plan. But she revolted against that thought. This island was making her think too much like a human, sometimes. Daenmor had Rukt'In blood in him. She understood her people, damn it.

"It's my turn for a question. Daenmor. Why do you think I'm doing this?"

Oh so now she wanted to talk. Of course she did. After a few more clashes like the one they had just had, she would be a bloody mess and he'd still be ready to go. He knew the answer, though the crowd was already getting impatient with this lull in the action. Not that he cared. This wasn't about them. This was personal.

"Fucking incredible. If I had to guess though? I'd say because you think this is how you solve problems. You beat the hell out of each other and that makes everything better."

Throwing his arms out, like he was waiting for her to come attack him again, he snarled. "News flash, chief. I fought everyone Akt'Anir who looked at me sideways and yet. And. Fucking. Yet. Here I am, still pissed off. Because at the end of the day, blood spilled doesn't make shit right."

Fweiu hissed with frustration.

It made sense that fighting wouldn't help Daenmor work through his feelings. That actually explained a whole lot about him. But it also meant that, alright, maybe this wasn't actually a good idea. It made her think that Frysta might have known more than he told her. If only he had brought it up in any other way than announcing his 'disapproval' publically, she might have asked him about it.

Now she actually had some anger to work through.

"So here's my dilemma." She circled him, keeping her distance. "I want to make this right. I want to give you a chance to join our family. Officially. But I could never do that if you're just going to treat us as your enemies. Half the time, I think that's the last thing you would want with how much you hate us. So... what should I do about you?"

The crowd was starting to look, and sound, quite confused. One of them, who must have been able to hear their conversation, shouted "Kick his ass!"

"Fucks sake, you really don't think do you?" Daenmor cracked his neck and began to circle. "What are my complaints about you and yours, Fweiu?"

"Some of you are straight up assholes, sure. But my main complaint is that you were all and are all cowards. You act like you're excused from the shitty behavior of your community because Eehol was the one who started it."

He ignored the crowd. He didn't give a shit about them right now. In fact, Daenmor gave a middle finger to the guy who yelled for Fweiu to kick his ass. They'd get back to that when they were done with this.

"You act like your fucking hands aren't as dirty as his, because you were just following orders. That's what you don't seem to realize."

"Daenmor, do you even know what it would have meant to be my brother? With the ways he made us compete? We would have been mortal enemies. And I would have needed to risk everything, just to make you my enemy."

She knew, right as the words were leaving her mouth, that they were only making things worse. So she changed to something that might actually help

"But none of this changes how I treated you. I could have tried to reach out to you, or any of our half-siblings, but instead I treated you like we were nothing to each other. I should have done better."

She waited for his response. At least some of the crowd were getting interested enough in the drama to shut up, but she still hated that there was an audience for this. Their fight, and their argument, should have been private things.

Daenmor didn't exactly falter, but he did stop pacing. His legs shifted, increasing his muscle mass so that he could close the distance between the two of them so that he no longer needed to shout to let her hear him. "And I would have blinded the old fucker for it. For treating my mother the way he did most of all."

"But at least you get it," he said with almost a smile at the corner of his mouth. "Now, we are in the arena. If we don't start hitting each other again, the crowd might come over the rails and beat us up themselves."

Daenmor put his fists up, grinning a bit more now. It didn't fix everything, by a long shot. But it was a hell of a start at least. "If you can manage to beat me, I might even consider changing my hair back to blue."

Huh. That actually seemed to work.

But they still had to finish their fight. A nonviolent resolution reached in Punch City (as Daenmor had called it) would feel like a kind of blasphemy. Plus, now Daenmor's hair color was on the line. "Now I'm really motivated!" Fweiu smiled. "White is awful on you. It makes you look like an elderly human."

She burst forward, partial-shifting to the point that she was ten feet tall. She aimed a hammerfist strike at the top of his head - and at the same time, a block of ice would come flying in to hit him right in the stomach.

"Well I am older than you," he snarled back, grinning as she shifted and brought her fist down onto his head. What she might not have expected was for Daenmor to turn his head up to face her incoming fist, shifting so that he could unhinge his jaws to reveal his mouth now full of sharp dragon teeth.

He bit down on the incoming fist, definitely feeling some teeth break and caught off guard by the sudden punch of ice to his stomach. But he held on, like a honey badger. Refusing to let go as he dug his now clawed feet into the arena floor.

Fweiu could feel the sharpness of his teeth, warm blood against the skin of her arm. She was stunned for a moment as he dug in, and she roared, whether in pain or with the triumph of breaking his teeth, nobody could tell, least of all her. She couldn't believe he caught that strike with his mouth! The crazy bastard!

Her first instinct was to try to pull away, which was a bad idea. That made it hurt and bleed even more. What teeth he had left had sunk in deep. So she tried something else.

She would start to grow. Quickly. All the way to her true form. If he didn't react fast, she was pretty sure that would do something nasty to his jaw. Even if he shifted all the way to his full wyvern form to keep up with the size. Her foreleg, which used to be her arm, was about to get much bigger than anything she thought he could fit in his mouth.
