Rho walked up to the gates and looked first to Val and then to Bracken before advancing any further. She trusted in their ability to sense anything in the immediate vicinity.

"I can cloak us if you want," she offered as she glanced around them at the trees, DCA and at the ground too, attempting to get a better feel for their surroundings as she deftly unhooked her bow just in case she needed it.

"I could trap the place. Acid sprays and deadfalls to deter and crush intruders." Tanniv knew her place well. She stuck close to Val and Bracken, not going more than thirty paces from them as she surveyed the area.

"Or lure in beasts. Trap them here. Use them to deter by way of making the non-hunters fearful. And give us a menagerie to hunt and study."

Val thought for a moment about what options they had for deterrents. Tanniv's ideas may have been good back in Bramblesnare, but this island operated much differently. Too much deterrent would have them on the radar of the authorities, if nothing else.

"We need to be non-lethal and discreet. Remember, we don't want to draw unwanted attention to ourselves," he sighed. "It's not exactly our territory. And no matter when we come out here, our real prey will always be whoever father sends after us. We may be hunting the beasts of this forest, but we're also hunting more experienced hunters. Normal tactics aren't going to cut it."

"Non-lethal and discreet is my...second, no, third middle name," Rho remarked with half-smiled as she wove her glamour on the whole group so that they'd all blended in with their surroundings, and would continue to do so like magical chameleons that changed their colours as they moved.

Bracken nodded along as he kept an 'eye' on their surroundings. Watching for even the smallest hints of minds creeping near them. It remained safe but vigilance was required. Although he let a smile cross his lips as he casually observed the camouflage taking effect.

At this point he switched to only using mental communication with the others.

"What about disguising the entrances from easy location. This place is supposed to be abandoned, why not lean on the collapsed nature? No one really knows if the authorities sealed it up or not."

"Disguising hmmmmmm...." Tanniv repeated, mimicking Bracken's voice for a split second as she rooted through some of the debris and underbrush around the old school. "Could make... reverse... traps? Stays closed until triggered, then opens. Finds somewhere underground. Cover with masonry."

Devolving into a series of contemplative clicks, she hopped up onto a low lying wall and looked around, seeing if she could see anything further that might help them.

"Or up high. Harder to come to us. Less likely for cave-in."
