Index took in this information carefully. “1450 years....is that not....” Index thought long and hard before suddenly uncurling. “I do believe I have some theories but I would like to discuss with Selkiris first.” Index quickly grabbed Selkiris before they could even react and quickly slid down into their den.
Once they reached the bottom of the den Index released Selkiris, who was certainly less than thrilled to have been dragged the through tunnels unwillingly. “Ugh. First of all, never do that again. Second of all, what is so important that we couldn’t have discussed it above ground” Index was quiet as they formulated their thoughts. “I inferred that your companion...Morgana as you said..would most certainly not handle the information I would give her well, and you would not either. All of the evidence Morgana has presented me has led me to the probable conclusion of reincarnation, and I do not believe I have to inform you of who was reincarnated.”
Selkiris was dead quiet, their thoughts were muddled to say the least. This is why he didn’t want to see Index, because he knew that serpent would have probably said something like this. “Don't you do this to me you damned abomination! You had told me that nothing comes back from that hex, and my ascension further proved that. Morgan is dead and never coming back. You made that loud and clear.” Index made a strange hissing sound, almost like a sigh to Selkiris’s outburst. “You obviously did not listen. I told you I have never seen anyone return after being hexed. There is always exceptions and strange cases, and this appears to be one of them. Though I do not believe you trust I speak the truth...despite my inability to lie.” Selkiris scoffed, refusing to even look at Index. “You’ve withheld information from me once.. I would not be surprised if you did it again. Still why bring me here?” Index bent down, reaching as close to eye level as they could to Selkiris. “Because if I let you either jump to conclusions and my theory was incorrect you would have my head, and I would prefer to not die again at this moment. To properly prove this theory you will need to do something. Reincarnation can be a fickle thing, memories can be distorted or broken. You will get echoes of past lives yet unable to fully remember. However Morgana’s statement of when their dreams worsened has led me to believe if she was to perform activities from her past life...preferably with you...her memory may clear and she will properly remember who she was.”
Selkiris thought carefully of his options. He wasn’t ready to have his hope shattered again yet this time, with Index’s confirmations, Selkiris could not resist the possibility of seeing Morgan again. “Fine Index, I will play in your experiment. Take me above ground. But if you are wrong and this is all a fluke...you will feel my rage.” Index simply gave a nod before picking Selkiris back up and climbing up their tunnel, placing Selkiris back down where they originally were. Selkiris was quiet for a moment, trying to figure out what to say to Morgana. Eventually Selkiris finally got enough courage to turn to her. “Index has figured out a way to potentially help you deal with these dreams that you are having. I will assist you of course.”
