Cameron sighed. His stomach grumbled loudly. He had skipped dinner again. No matter. He could always ask Jonathan to get him something...

Truth was, he was kind of getting in the hang of things here. That didn't mean he liked it. He had a few "friends" and maybe a few enemies, too...but that didn't make it like home...not at all...

He loved it up here. The way the hill just stopped suddenly, and the gray granite walls dropped straight down into the forest below. The wind rustled his hair.

He thought he heard something behind him, but dismissed it...it was probably nothing...

Caitlin was what he heard. She was coming up the cliff read her letter from her dad, and then saw Cameron. "Hi!" she said. She was carrying two blueberry muffins. (OOC. dont ask me why.) She was eating the other, and offered the other to the boy.

Blueberry muffins, eh? he thought with a wry grin. He looked up at the girl, holding out the treat. He couldn't say he was angry she'd come, but it might be better if everyone just left him alone.

"Sure..." he said, taking one. He bit into it. The taste jarred a memory, but he couldn't place it.

"So...what brings you here?" he said nonchalantly.

"My dad sent me a letter and I like to read them alone." Caitlin said. "If you want to be alone, tell me, I'll go."

Cameron stared. "So...you want to be alone, but you're asking me if I want to be alone? I'm getting the sense that you don't want me to leave..." he said, grinning. "Nevermind. You don't have to go. I won't bother you..." He turned, mentally tracing the curves of the mountains in the distance.

Caitlin sat down to read her letter. About halfway through, she read something that made her feel sick to her stomach. "Umm... I'm gonna go now. Nice meeting you! Bye!" She ran down the whole way, into her dorm room, where she collapsed on her bed, tears flowing.
