The best thing about the rain was that it had the tendency to keep people inside. It always made her wonder what it was about the rain that made people want to scatter. In fact, she even was even convinced that people were a lot like ants. They had social classes, worked for a central authority and pretty much all the other qualities.

Though, she'd never seen ants destroy each other to be queen, she wrote that off as evolutionary flaws. Things wouldn't need to evolve if they were perfect right? She could've been wrong though, making connections where that weren't logical. Still she sat on the bench her clear umbrella and rain coat keeping majority of the rain off her as she watched the people scatter. It was a color she always wondered about. The noise of the rain was always green with slight hints of yellow, the sound of people scattering and rushing to get shelter was always.... A reddish yellow. The voices always seemed to meld into each other.

To be honest, storms were always the worse for Kaitlyn. It seemed the louder the noise the brighter the color, the more likely she was to get over whelmed. Ironically, Kaitlyn's favorite time to be outside was during the storms. As long as they could get...she always found something fascinating about the grayish storm clouds.
She didn't try and draw them, some things were just better enjoyed if you didn't try and capture them. Instead she just watched, alternating from watching the people scurry from building to building, and the storm clouds that were quickly taking captive of the sky.

A drop. Then another. Artemisia felt as rain began to fall. Bellatrix flew around, trying to avoid the raindrops. The gray clouds reminded Artemisia just how terrible the world was. She'd accepted the darkness.

From the balcony that she watched from, Artemisia saw people running for shelter. The gray clouds shoved the light away, making even the brightest colors become dull. Red. Orange. Yellow. Artemisia named the colors people were wearing as they tore through the streets. Impatient. Trying to get out of the rain first. She didn't care though. They could fight all they wanted.

She turned around, leaving the view behind her. She wandered, without an umbrella, down the stairs. More and more people began to swarm around her when she reached the ground. Bellatrix desperately tried to fly around the rain and the people at the same time. A raindrop hit her, and she fell onto Artemisia's shoulder.

"Haha! Isn't the rain so much fun, Artie?" Bellatrix laughed. Artemisia didn't think so, but she said nothing. Instead, she just clenched her fists and narrowed her eyes. Bellatrix was playing her again. Mocking her pain. Explaining that to her, Artemisia's pain was fun. Artemisia's loneliness.

They managed to make it out of the mainstream traffic, and into a small walkway lined with benches. Artemisia noticed a young girl sitting on one of the benches, but quickly looked away. No more friends. No more family. No more anyone. Artemisia walked past the girl, stomping over a family of ants accidentally. They didn't get up, and Artemisia didn't notice. She just walked to an unoccupied bench and sat down.

"Come on Artie! The rain is fun! We should do something interesting! How about we play hide and seek in the rain! That's always fun!" Bellatrix said as she jumped off Artemisia's shoulder. She shook the rainwater off her wings, and flew around Artemisia's head.

Fun. Artemisia knew Bellatrix only acted happy to piss her off. How could anything be fun after what Bella'd done to her?

She remembered the time she and her brother'd played hide and seek in the rain. It had been fun. He hid, and she tried to find him. She remembered how much they laughed. His eyes, his mouth. Smiling. But those days were over. They wouldn't ever come back.

Artemisia closed her eyes. Her white hair was sticking to her head because of the rain. "I don't want to play. How many times to have to tell you, I'm not interested." She saw Bellatrix pout. Then tears filled up in the little star's eyes.

"Artie, you're so mean!!" She yelled, before bursting into tears and flying away into the trees. Once again, she was just playing her.

Artemisia looked over at the little girl sitting on the bench. For some reason, they reminded her of her brother. The brother she didn't have. Not then, anyways.

"Do you like her...?" Bellatrix whispered in her ear, darkly. Bellatrix was smirking, her eyes narrowed. Artemisia's heart skipped a beat, and her eyes widened.

"No." She said, looking away. If she did, Bellatrix would surely find a way to dispose of her somehow.

"That's good.." Bellatrix said, her eyes becoming normal again. She smiled again. "But I'm not so sure." Artemisia turned to look at her, but she'd already sped off towards the girl. Artemisia stood up, staring at the little star flew over. She clenched her teeth, and curled her fists.

Bellatrix flew in front of the girl. "Hello!" She said, happily. "Who would you be, little one? You might catch a cold if you stay out in the rain like this!" Bellatrix asked, spinning in the air. She was putting on a cover of kindness. Artemisia knew that behind that mask was a sadist and cruel being, who thought the pain of others was fun.

Kaitlyn stared at the little...thing that had flew up to her. It's voice was sickly type of green and it made her squint her big blue eyes slightly. She tried to guess what the little things was, a fairy perhaps? A sprite? Possible a mixture of both, it wasn't her place to decide what the small creature was...even if it had interupted her mental musings. She was unsure what to say, she knew that she shouldn't talk to strangers but surely the pet had an owner that missed it. She knew that her pet dragon was her best friend.

"Shouldn't you be the getting out of the rain? Your owner is probably worried" She said in her normal monotonous voice. She didn't like when strangers tried to cute her...it was weird especially when it was someone who could probably pass as her mom. She knew the island had creeps, just like France had keep. Always trying to pull one over on the naivee residents of the territory they prowled. Kaitlyn couldnt really be bothered to care, as long as they left her alone.

"I'm also not worried about a cold, it's natural to get sick" She wasn't sure what this lady's deal was but she knew that there was a such thing as toooo friendly. One didn't just go up to little kids and start being friendly unless they were parent's themselves or..creeps.
She looked towards the girl that was following around the fairy creature sprite thing and squinted. "Is she yours?"

Bellatrix was no one's. If anyone was a pet there, it was Artemisia. A pet to the sadistic star who she'd made a contract with.

Artemisia closed her eyes. "Bellatrix, I honestly don't care about that girl. Leave her alone." Then, to the girl, she said, "Sorry, ignore her."

Bellatrix frowned. She flew back over to Artemisia, putting on a sad act. "B-but Artie!! I was just trying to make a f-friend!!" Tears filled up in Bellatrix's eyes, but they were covered up when a raindrop hit her on the head. She fell to the floor with an "oof". Artemisia didn't laugh, though. She didn't even smile. That would've made her just as bad as Bellatrix.

"Come on!! It's mean to stop me from making friends!! It's so lonely! You don't want me to be lonely, do you?" Bellatrix wailed from the floor, as she desperately tried to get the water off her wings.

Artemisia wanted to scoff. Hypocrite. She'd taken everything from Artemisia. Left her without anyone, and then mocked her sorrow. Talking her about loneliness was ironic, which was probably why Bellatrix had brought it up. Cheeky bastard.
However, Bellatrix did put up a good show. To anyone but Artemisia, this little act might’ve actually seemed real.
