Archard worked hard to perfect everything for this meeting. Their ego was on the line if anything was even slightly below their standards. It was so important that they declined to mention most of the details to their family, in case they (specifically Béa) tried to "help." Henghai was the only one in the family trusted enough to know anything about this, which was why he was here to shadow Archard. Just in case Fweiu said anything that could be considered a command, and Archard needs to be held back by Henghai to avoid following it without a second thought.

Archard was in their cervitaur form, completely covered in the finest of jewels and cloth. They had facial piercings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, rings, and other assortments of jewelry that looked like an absolute pain to move in. The most apparent feature was the extravagant golden mask they had on. It was traditional for royalty and council members on Ilada to wear a mask when doing business. Oricenta had no standards when it came to mingling with lower and higher classes, but there had been enough instances of civilians interrupting business without realizing it. This was the easiest way to silently tell someone to go away. Archard's mask was shaped over their eyes and had a simple enchantment to allow the wearer to see through just fine. For clothing, Archard had on a golden top that was heavily embroidered. Overall it was flashy, but some others would call it excessive.

Just like Archard, Henghai was also in his cervitaur form, though his outfit was significantly less stunning. After all, how could he try to match someone as magnificent as Archard? He had forgone his usual black turtleneck sweater and gloves to wear simple facial piercings and a long-sleeved brown top that covered his neck and stopped right below his stomach. Henghai was somewhat annoyed that he had to wear his own mask. His was has bland as he could convince the crafter to make it. His were two large green circles that cupped over his eyes. Then there were two more identical ones on the top of his head. Outlining of all four of these circles were yellow.

With everything set, they waited in front of Archard's house for Fweiu to arrive. When she came, the two oricenta stood straight and crossed their arms so their hands to form a diamond, but Henghai was the only one to bow while doing so.

Once she acknowledged them, they uncrossed their arms, and Archard asked, "Shall I start making the portal? We are both ready. It'll only take around ten minutes."

Fweiu was frustrated - her formal wear wasn't designed for this type of weather. It had too many furs, which was great and cozy in good cold weather, but terrible in this heat. To avoid having a heat stroke on the way over she had to do something different.

She still had on her scale mail, made of the unmelting ice that some of her people's artisans could produce. Similarly, she wore a circlet made of ice, save for the single large sapphire it held over her forehead. It glimmered like it was made of crystal itself. Her shoulder pads and bracers, both also made of ice, were inlaid with gems from her own hoard. Instead of the cozy fur she normally wore with this, she had on a blue dress. She felt less like an icy warlord than a battle-ready Elsa, from that movie Frozen her family talked her into watching.

At least everyone else thought she looked good. It was probably the best they could do in this weather. And she looked at least as regal as Archard did.

Fweiu knew the protocol for this, for the most part. She saluted Archard as an equal, and she didn't return Henghai's salute. She would try not to give Archard any commands.

"As soon as you're ready. I'll be happy to be done with the weather here."

Archard gave a brief nod and a while to Fweiu before turning away to set up the portal. "Me as well. Even the cold charms can't change my opinion about this weather. But that's not important right now. Give me about ten minutes to get this portal finished. I need to focus."

In the meantime, Henghai offered Fweiu a cold charm and a language charm that translated Oscela for her, both in the form of simple rings. Contrary to Henghai's usual appearance, his face looked stern and stressed, yet his happy tone never disappeared.

"This is a cold charm, and this is a language charm. These will only work on Ilada. We thought the trip would be easier for you if we avoided the language barrier. Our first stop will be Lehora, the hub of Ilada. Don't be overwhelmed if people come to approach you, our masks will wave them away. We can take a quick tour around, but if you'd rather skip that part, we're going to have you meet the council so we can agree on the trade. After all, Archard should not have all the power." And then, a quick smirk at Archard, which got a tense groan in response.

"Do you have any other questions or concerns while we wait?"

Fweiu understood exactly what the plan was. She gave Archard a sympathetic smile. She never knew if she should be thankful for having a council of dragons at home, or to curse them for their capacity to challenge her authority.

And Fweiu was definitely going to want that tour. Leaving the ice dragons' original home had stirred something inside of her. A taste for adventure. There was a whole world out here, with so many things to see in it. Now she could make an excuse to spend time seeing it.

After a short while, something occurred to Fweiu."I do have one question, actually. Once you are in Illada, can you just open a portal to anywhere on the planet? Or is it not quite that simple?" She imagined how much more convenient that would be than traveling by plane. Assuming she wasn't missing something.

Both Henghai and Archard looked pleased that Fweiu accepted the tour. It gave them both of an excuse to have a relaxing vacation back on Ilada. Then Henghai made a subtle frown at Fweiu's question. Not out of displeasure, but from carefully considering it.

That was a good question. Henghai felt somewhat bad for not explaining their portals in more detail. Throwing someone into their world without explaining the magic to getting there seemed careless.

"Our portals to this realm send us to an empty place area closest to our destination. Aiming for the forest would be more convenient, but since we all have our own means of traveling, one of the islets would be easier and more accurate. For the record, it takes us a period of two weeks to be able to make another portal, but I'm sure we can grab someone to make us a portal back if that seems too long to you."

Fweiu had not cleared her schedule for quite that long. "At the longest, I can stay five days. So it's good we have another option" She gave a wry smile.

She took a deep breath. "It's been too long since I've given myself the chance to stretch my wings out. I'm looking forward to that part of the trip - but I hope your people are prepared to see me." Fweiu knew that the sight of a dragon flying in could be terrifying to smaller creatures, and terrified creatures could be dangerous ones.

Either way, she was ready to get this show on the road.

Henghai gave a low chuckle. "I don't intend on staying that long either. Archard, however, could. It's where they are most of the time.

"And don't worry about it. If you want to, give Archard a warning and Ilada will handle the rest. Honestly, if you do, we'll likely gather around like we're watching fireworks. It'd be a fun experience for the younger ones too."

When Archard announced the portal was ready, Henghai took some time to stretch and return to their serious expression, then moved behind Fweiu. "Archard will go first, then you, then me."

When the line was all set up, Archard stepped through the glowing portal that looked as smoothy and icy as their own horn and eyes. Once everyone went through, the group appeared in the transportation district of Lehora where the portals were located. It was actually not very active right now, with only a few oricenta hanging out. When they saw Fweiu, they almost excitedly approached her like kids, then stopped when they saw Archard and Henghai's masks. As if they never noticed the three at all, they returned to their previous activities, taking only occasionally peeks and sniffs to get a judge of Fweiu's character.

Archard turned towards Fweiu to say, "This is the transportation district. I had it mostly cleared out for today to not overwhelm you, but it's not very active anyway. Not a lot of need for people to come here when everyone can fly or glide to where they need to go." They gave a hearty laugh. "Anyway, we have some time to walk around the city before going to the council, so follow me."

Despite the fact that the people weren't supposed to approach her, Fweiu couldn't help herself. She knew how amazed they were to see her, and that just felt so right, because she was aamazing. So she gave them a little wave with her fingers. As she passed, small ice sculptures that looked like flowers would sprout from the ground, each one waiting for a curious Oricenta to take.

Fweiu also took this opportunity to look around, taking in the unfamiliar architecture and the obvious instances of magic surrounding them.

She didn't laugh at Archard's remarks. It confused her more than it amused her. "If the transportation district isn't for people... that means it must be for goods and materials, yes? Or am I misunderstanding?"

Archard gave an amused expression at how Fweiu interacted with their people. They watched as some oricenta hesitantly approached the ice flowers to marvel at before picking them up. A few Fire oricenta—made clear by the apparent fire in their horns—were hesitant and watched from a distance. Two oricenta flew off excitedly, presumably to spread gossip.

"It's used for a few things. What you mentioned is only one of them. We also have it for situations like this where a clear area for people coming from the human realm to here is convenient. Recently, this place has mainly been used for Guardians coming here with their Companions to visit family, or people needing a place to land their mounts when coming to Lehora"

Archard continued to walk towards the more general part of Lehora before stopping again to let Fweiu take in the scene. People would stroll through, stop to look at Fweiu and her escorts, mutter some words ("Who's that?" "They don't smell human," "Are they a Guardian?"), then continue on. There were barely any young oricenta around, and there wouldn't be a lot more elsewhere on Ilada. Some people were riding particular animals. A popular mount was a large owlgriffon that looked fitting for a Pokémon design. Some looked like they had leaves growing off of them, and others looked like parts of them were made from ice. Each one looked to match their owner's main element.

"I see."

Fweiu hummed as she looked at the strange mounts, wondering what the purpose of those creatures was, but not wanting to ask too many questions and seem like a child. The mounts were probably faster than the Oricenta, and that was probably why the Oricenta would ride them. She wasn't quite curious enough to ask.

The dragon chief stayed close. She would keep leaving the occasional little ice flowers in her path. The people whispered about her, believing that she couldn't hear. Since they were curious about her species, she decided to drop a hint. Specifically, an icy statuette of a dragon, which sprouted by her feet.

"It sounds like I'm making an impression," Fweiu observed. She wasn't keeping her voice down. She glanced at a few Oricenta to see how they would react.

Fweiu was grinning and having a great time. Everyone seemed to be regarding her with wonder, and perhaps even a little bit of fear. She basked in it. Some of her fellow ice dragons still looked at her this way, and she had learned to savor it.
