It didn't really take long to get home for Orsick. He generally did it out of sight, and just showed up places, but having portals was a nice handy trick he'd picked up. the portal opened up inside of his closet. He stepped out into his ever familiar room. A room that was arguably a bit too neat for a teenager at any point. His bed was made, and wrinkle free, a collection of action figures posed in a display case, a decent sized book shelf that upon closer inspection one would find all of the books arranged by series, and alphabetized. There was also a tv mounted on the wall with several gaming systems. Then there was his desk which again was meticulously organized.

Orsick immediately flopped in his gaming chair. There was a beanbag chair, for Andrasta to sit in. Titus was probably still working, which was often the case.

"So, I guess since there's no prying ears here..." he lazily waved a hand and closed the portal behind them. "Um... are you gonna be alright with this? Like helping Aedes? Because I dunno she said some nasty stuff to you and... yeah. "

When Andrasta jumped into the beanbag, she did a flip. This was normal for her. Ever since she started learning acrobatics she had been like this, doing flips and acrobatic maneuvers in all sorts of places, even when it seemed like a bad idea. It was fine. She wouldn't get hurt.

She was in high spirits - she had been looking forward to hanging out with Orsick. That question caught her off guard, though. She had been trying not to think too much about Aedes. "Uhhh," she frowned. "Aedes is probably the shittiest kid I know. But she doesn't deserve to die or anything. So I'm still gonna help you guys."

That didn't mean she liked the idea. Andraste crossed her arms. She could just imagine Aedes being shitty to them, even after they busted their asses keeping her alive. She could imagine her being ungrateful, saying the kind of shit that would make Andraste deck her again - and she would have a stronger right hook this time.

Orsick nodded in agreement. Yeah, Aedes had been shitty to th- well basically anyone she'd met. Orsick extended a rather measured kindness towards her. He had a gut feeling she was compensating for something, but until now had no idea what. He understood her lashing out, however it wasn't any excuse to act how she did.

"Well, I mean that is fair. I was just making sure. Well if we fix her and she's still an asshole we just treat her accordingly. The way Dalia talked though it seems like going to the islets was the ass kicking she needed," Orsick responded. He rolled his chair over to his desk, and pulled out a bag of chips from one of the drawers, offering it to her. "I uh didn't mean to make this about that, but it was on my mind. Why does this crap always fall into our laps?"

Andrasta shrugged. Now that he mentioned it, their group did have to deal with a whole lot of bullshit. "Maybe we're cursed."

As she said it, she felt a vision coming on. The outermost planet of the star system gave off a satisfying glow as it disintegrated, its molten lower layers being exposed.

It was excited, but taking its time. Savoring the moments order became disarray - as it used to be, as it should have remained. It reached out to the next planet and a primitive language was being spoken into its mind. Something from the planet shot out from the surface, piercing its core. It could feel itself shrinking, being pulled down onto the surface, extracted from its own body. The words were getting louder, more powerful, until-

She jolted out of it, almost jumping out of her chair. She had only been out for a couple seconds. "Shit. Speaking of curses... That was a weird one. I... think I got cursed before?"

"...I probably deserved it, though. In that lifetime." Some of her past lives were lived by shitheads. She knew this.

Orsick was a bit confused at first, then he sort of realized what was happening. He scooted a little closer to Andrasta just to make sure that she was alright. When she finally did come to he was even more confused. This wasn't the change in conversation he was expecting.

"That's... huh. I mean maybe? But... why'd you get it now? And you want some juice or something?"

"I think it's cause we were talking about death, and I just mentioned a curse, so it went, hey, this is a great time to show her some weird shit where she gets magically cursed to death. That won't mess her up." As if her memory had a mind of its own, and made decisions like that.

Finally, Andrasta would take a moment to accept the snacks Orsick was offering. And some juice, which she took a long sip of. "Thanks." Orsick was really considerate - she probably needed something sweet to help her recover from that.

"But, yeah. I dunno. There's all kinds of stupid crap happening all the time. I guess our problem is that we care enough to want to fix it."

"I'd file a complaint to whoever your management team is. Try and get them to at least send out warnings before they send out cryptic morbid flashbacks," he tried to make a small joke out of it. It did seem like a lot of his friends had stuff like this going all the time to some degree.

"Well I guess someone has to care. Or get angry enough, or whatever to try and do something," he sighed and shrugged. "Never a dull moment though..."

Andrasta nodded along with that and ate a few more chips. Orsick was great - he got it. Being angry about stuff was a good sign, because it meant you cared and you would change stuff. And the two of them were a grumpy couple of kids.

She shifted her position in her beanbag chair so she was sitting upside down.

"Orsick, do you think we'll still be friends in a hundred years? 'Cause... we can both live super long. I think."

"Of course we would," he answered, maybe a little too quickly. He couldn't really imagine a world where they wouldn't be friends. Maybe it was stupidly innocent, and optimistic. But he was also a dragon so there was also that strong instinct to hold onto people and things he cared about.

"I mean, when you think about it, we've been through a lot of crap. And I dunno, I can't really see any of us doing anything that would make everything fall apart. We care about each other too much to let that happen."

Andrasta was surprised by how quick he answered that - and by how confident he sounded.

Maybe she had forgotten that Orsick didn't have the kinds of memories she did, of being young, growing up, outgrowing old friends and dying. But it would take a few minutes before that crossed her mind. Her first thought was actually 'does Orsick really like me that much?' before she realized that he didn't mean any of that in a romantic way. Why was that even crossing her mind? Gross.

"I mean..." she was a little flustered now, but she tried to ignore it. "I don't know if any of the other, uh, destruction gods were ever friends with anyone for that long. Even when they lived way longer than that. But I don't have to be like them."
