Ren grinned, raising his hand. A black staff appeared directly above his hand, and he caught it with expertise, spinning it around his hand twice before stopping it and catching it with his other hand. "Do I dare see your scary side?" he mused, quirking an eyebrow.

The staff had also been a gift from his Grandfather, and while it was wood, it had a very thin coat of titanium covering it's surface, then painted with black paint with diamond chips. The effect was beautiful, and made the staff virutally indestructable. He watched her carefully, allowing her the first move. He was naturally observant, so he knew by the way she handled her swords that she was no ammatuer, but neither was he. He'd practiced for hours with his Grandfather, and had practiced by himself when his Grandfather. "Promise you won't kill me?" he asked, sounding more nervous than he was. His true question was how much she'd start hating him if he matched her skill.

She smirked, "I think you should have enough skill to keep yourself from getting killed. But incase you should happen to not then I promise I shall not kill you. But if you dare to hold back I can't guarantee you shall be okay." She said putting it simply, she didn't want him to hold back because it wouldn't be any good for either of them.

She usually started off with one sword and worked her way up to two because she determined how much of her strength and what technics would be necessary. She learned this from her captain, you never jump into a fight blindly you first bluff and then when they think your caught you charge. She never held back if it would change the fight ending, she only held back when it was unnecessary to put forth all effort.

Her sword skills were amazing for one her age, she hadn't cut through steel yet. But she could cut through certain types of rocks which were of less density so far. But her aim was steel, iron, and other of the tougher things. She wouldn't do diamonds since they weren't really around much. But she'd start with what she had around her daily.

She looked at him determining to create a fake skill image in his head. She drew both swords now and quickly ran at him then pulled back and did a cross pattern variation of swords heading towards his chest. This blow could be easily stopped since it was visable and not ignorable. She would first test his skill and then move towards the goal which would be to put him in a situation he couldn't fight without hurting him.

Ren wasn't stupid. He saw the move, and blocked it with minimum effort, catching her swords with his staff, and sliding them down one end, moving his hand at the last moment. Swords off his staff, he returned to his position with his staff in both hands. Like she was, he was giving her a false taste. He was being simple. Using the most simple moves his Grandfather taught him. He wasn't about showing off. He'd never understood people who did. In his opinion, those who had the nerve to show off, didn't have the skill to do it.

She smirked realizing he caught on, she decided to bring it up a knotch not a huge knotch. But a knotch none the less, she hated to be the main attacker because she liked the danger it made her fight with more vigor. She decided to move quicker still using simple moves. She devised a plot to make him confused, she did a off harmonized slash of the swords at him, one slightly faster than the other barely noticable. Many would think she was harmonized this was something most amatuers did without knowing. She slashed towards his staff on purpose.

Instead of blocking with his staff, which she aimed directly at, he ducked completely under them, tapping her calf with the tip of his staff. Normally, he'd disapear to throw her off, but he didn't. Not yet. He'd learned early in life that in a fight, you didn't give away your tricks in the beginning of a fight. He slid back then, standing and swinging his staff towards her in one fluid motion. He was aiming for her shoulder, but at the last moment, he changed the direction of the swing to her side.

She brought up her two swords to block, one near her shoulder the other at her side. She knew tricks like that, she smirked pushing hard against his staff. She wasn't going to show her capacity in her weaponry or powers. She wasn't planning on using her powers because they wouldn't be of use against him. She could face anything with swordsmanship and that's the way she looked at it.

She smirked looking into his eyes, her eyes showed with a kind of confidence which was a bit overflowing for a girl. She had fought many times, even if he may be stronger or not she knew she wouldn't give up as always. Because in order to become the best she'd have to be able to bet anyone no matter what their power was. She tilted the sword towards him her eyes still locked on his, she didn't usually do this in a match but since she was going up against someone who knew she was a girl she decided to show how fierce a girl could be. The sword approching his stomach, she planned on touching it to make him realize she was serious and to catch him off guard.

He knew that look when he saw it. She was cocky. He hadn't been able to get his staff back into place in time to block, so he gave her a charming grin, winked, and disapeared just before her sword touched him. He loved the thrill of a fight, and had already made the decision that he didn't mind being beaten by a girl, since it was innevitable that he would. He'd made his assessment of her capacity already. His pranks were good because he knew what got people's goat. And he learned that by observing. Never was he not observing.

He reappeared at her shoulder. "Nice move." he whispered, disapearing before she had time to use her fast reflexes. He reappeared in front of her again, a grin on his face. He held his staff in what appeared to be an open position. "So, now that we've both deemed that we're hiding how good we are, shall we get going?" he raised an eyebrow, a feigned cocky grin on his face. His gold eyes glittered. He was enjoying this. And that was never a good sign. For his opponent.

She chuckled, "I know your power remember? Also it doesn't matter if my power can't counter your's all that matters is the fact I haven't been defeated without me being happy about it in the end." She chuckled she admited she was defeated before, but she didn't tell the conditions under which she was. Besides that she also was hoping he'd underestimate so she could see shock, she loved the thrill of a fight.

He reappeared at her should, she knew he had full range so she instead of going after him jumped forward and landed in a roll and stood crouching blades up like a tiger ready to pounce at sight. She wasn't going to show all her skill but she did only a amatuer move anyway so it wouldn't be too big. Though it did show a peak at the way she landed it, she rarely used the move since she liked more difficult landing moves which gave more protection to her while landing.

She chuckled, "Your powers are important to you, you rely on them for quick escapes. I would challenge you to not use it but I find it more enjoyable when it's harder for me to land a hit." She said her eyes showing out of the shadow in the moonlight. They gleamed with excitement, this would prove to be a interesting fight to some she had. Though she wasn't sure if she could make him unable to escape but she'd find away as she usually did.

His golden eyes caught her eyes for a second, they shined like a new sword out of the cooling bucket. The glittering orbs were something that were very hard to ignore at first glance, expectally to a person with a obsession with swords. She put it out of her mind she liked it when someone had the upper hand in the power area. It always made her more competitive and alive. She could be near dead and get up with the energy of a 12 year old if she was in a fix. She never let herself get beaten if it was for her own good, but if her opponent was physically unable she would give them the win so they didn't lose their pride.

Ren grinned. He wasn't going to tell her that he knew she was going to beat him, since that was no fun. He pondered for a moment if her comment was an insult to his intelligence, his fighting ability, or something else, but he wasn't particularily phazed by it.

He wasn't afraid of her, or even of a few cuts. He didn't really care, one way or another who won, it was just good practice. He crouched as well, before moving quickly. Very quickly. He slid his hand down his staff, launching it forward towards her stomach, but at the last moment, dodged it so that it narrowly missed her side.

She looked at him raising her eyebrow, she had made no move to block. That was a test, he obiviously wasn't willing to hurt her. She looked at him, "Aren't you even going to try and hit me? Or is it because you know I'm a girl? Don't tell me that your taking it easy on me because you made a vow you'd never hurt a girl or something." She said annoyed at the fact he didn't try to hit her, she wanted a true fight where hits happened. Not a to the death fight, but one like it would be if he was fighting a guy. And guys usually landed hits on eachother, this wasn't a true fight or practice if no one got hurt or got a bruise.

She looked at him almost tempted to hit him over the head with the hilt of her sword. She wanted to be treated like anyone else, not like a "girl" or a "weaker person". She wanted to fight a guy and have him fight back as if he was fighting a guy. This got her angry which wasn't good for her opponent since she usually would end up taking it harder on them.
