The Queerest Tackle

"LEI!" Chloe shouted across the busy courtyard, turning a bunch of heads. "I FOUND YOU!" The half-demon was out of breath from racing all over the school looking for her. She had tried texting Lei's friends to no avail and checked Lei's dorm.

Chloe didn't know how long this was going to last. This... curse? She was a walking magical hazard. She had hired out someone to magically change her body to be more female, and something went wrong. Now anyone near her was at risk of getting zapped with a magic sex change from the residual magic left on her.

There were people who would actually appreciate something like that.

Chloe was running towards Lei at full speed now, running along the perimeter of the courtyard, making sure to avoid bumping into anyone on accident. She bumped into a guy on accident, and what looked like an arc of purple lightning flickered between them as she passed by. "Sorry!" she breathed as she ran past.

The boy looked confused. Then, he began to quietly panic.

And then Lei started running. Why was Lei running?

Chloe vaulted over the ice wall and kept jogging after her, closing the space between them quickly without even losing her breath. "Stop running!" she called ahead. "You don't even know why I was looking for you!"

Chloe was looking away for a second when Lei slowed down. She didn't notice that Lei was moving slower until it was too late.

Chloe collided with Lei, reflexively grabbing onto her in a vain effort to keep her balance. Instead of keeping herself up, this only ensured that she landed on top of Lei.

"Ow, crap, sorry."

Chloe lifted herself off of Lei, stopping as she got up to her knees. She noticed a grass stain on her uniform and sighed to herself. This wasn't how she wanted this to work.

"I wanted to contact you about it first, but you wouldn't answer my texts and I didn't want to talk about it through text messages. So I tracked you down. Short version is, I think I just... ah, accidentally zapped you with a magic sex change. Would you like the long version?"

She hoped that Lei wouldn't be upset. She didn't know if Lei would be ready to change this much, or even if she wanted to. That's why Chloe wanted to talk first.

"U-um," Chloe stammered, returning the embrace and patting Lei on the back, "I think you mean rule 63. Rule 34 would mean we were having sex."

Awkwardness and self-groping aside, this was the exact kind of reaction Chloe was hoping for.

"I don't know if it's permanent. Nobody knows. Me zapping people with this is a side effect of a spell that did the same thing to me. It could last a minute or a day or a week or forever. I've been doing this on accident to people all through yesterday, and I thought it would be a waste if I didn't take the time to hit you with it before quarantining myself."

She untangled herself from Lei then stood up, offering a hand to help Lei as well. "Speaking of which. I should probably go to the infirmary now and see about that quarantine. Also I need your cellphone number."
