The Philosophies of Animals

Remi stumbled back into a tree and held her face, then quietly muttered "What the fuck?" as she looked down at the kitty, no, the cat. She fell silent for a moment while a sickening temptation to just kick the thing grew within her, but she still couldn't get over the fact that it was a cat. Even if the cat was a child with the intelligence of an adult, Remi would still be hesitant to fight against them just because of their looks.

"Okay, Jones. Next time you try to hurt me I might have to show you my boulder." She sat back down, calming a bit from his previous action. Just in case though, she turned the vulnerable parts of her body into stone. "Since you don't live with anyone, do you have a family? Friends? Gotta be a bit lonely with a personality like that." She always had a small bit of pity towards those without friends or family, even if they were horrible people. Her moms could be pretty horrible, even her dad, but they still deserved family. Plus, her moms did worse things to her than just a punch to the face, so being angry at Jones for that didn't feel completely logical.

Remi had this small idea though. She was still pissed off at Jones just because of how unreasonably arrogant he was acting. Maybe he deserved to meet her little sibling. Arjean never knew how much to hold back when it came to playing with animals, but no matter what it usually ended with the animal trying to hide or Arjean crying... Actually, that was a bad idea. Remi immediately swept it away. Jones seemed like the type who would slap a child for simply being a child, and she definitely didn't want to be responsible for that mess.​

It was obvious Jones was trying to get the higher ground to look down upon Remi, but considering Remi was the shortest in her family, being looked down upon was something she was used to. In fact, she liked it at times because people often underestimated her, and she liked the feeling of having larger people around her to feel safe with. Since Jones was still so little Remi didn't see much to fear, but he did demonstrate multiple powers that she had little ideas on how to counter. Mental powers were absolutely horrible to encounter, and instead of planning ways to counter it she tried to pretend they didn't exist. Super strength or whatever the cat had Remi could deal with to an extent, but she still needed to think up a more concrete plan just in case. She wasn't going to have some egotistical and super-powered cat just scratch the joy out of the woods for her.

"Have you tried a pet shop for your clan? I'm sure you'll find lots of members there." Even she couldn't tell if she was being mocking or serious, but if he was having trouble finding members the place filled with animals would probably be his best bet. "Maybe if you were nicer more would come to you? Not a lot of people want to be around someone who's threatening, mean, and stuck-up."​

Remi considered his words for a moment, and had to give him a point, or perhaps just half. "You're right in a way, though I've heard stories of people recruiting those in holding cells to join their groups. Depends on the person though, and if they're fit for it or not. Not every holding cell has people suitable for certain groups."

"And I doubt being a cat is a reason why you can't be nice. I've met plenty of nice cats, and don't you find it a bit sad you're limiting yourself to one personality type because of your species? Personally, I'd be offended if I was forced to act like a deer or owl or some stereotype of my species just because of how I was born."​
