"All my life I have be taught, not to trust anyone for many reasons." He said. "So, how could I know that you won't use it against my family, or you won't hurt my family because Trephas is in it?" He asked, eyes still blazed with anger, as he was on the ground again. Shouldn't have brought up Trephas, but who cares, he thought to himself standing tall, as it was normal in the family.

"I will not harm you, and will not look into your memory's, and will not deny that I could not take the pain of memory's." He said. Looking int another's memory was hard, and it hurt too much. As much as he saw when he first seen her memory, he felt the pain, and fear, and all of it, and he never wanted to see it again, but he felt it more then once, when he saw his mother's past, he felt it when his mother got stabbed but of course she lived, but he felt the pain. He was though, tempted to see her secrets, to see her past, but he didn't want to feel the pain. He has felt more pain then she could have ever feel. He has felt in in many ways, and every way was terrible.

"I do not wish to see your past...... as much as I know.... there is too much pain.....fear..... I-I cannot stand any pain, no longer...." He said, anger leaving him, though he hoped it would stay, hiding the bit of fear in his voice. If there was anything he feared, it was the pain of other's.

Lex sighed, feeling full stability returning to her. "Can I do anything to prove that I would do everything in my power to protect your secret?" She had chosen to ignore the fact that he'd brought Trephas into it, focusing soley on Eben. She knew the feeling of not wanting any more pain. "I can block my mind from yours if it will ease it, even in the least?" she offered tentatively, not really sure how he would react. She truly didn't want to harm him, and was mentally kicking herself for not having enough control over herself, though even she knew he'd been asking for it. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she waited for his reply, her eyes back to their normal, warm brown color.

Eben thought. Could she do anything? If so, he had no idea what. He knew his parents would know, but they weren't here, they were gone, somewhere, though, he knew they were alive, only missing, captured, in a place that is dark, and cold, where fear is the only comfort to find. He shook his head, unsure. "I do not know if there is...." He said. He would usually know what to do, but doesn't really know what to say.

His eyes widened, for what she said about blocking his mind from hers, he would like that, but he didn't really like the feeling of someone he couldn't see a memory, but still he nodded. "It would be nice, for my mind blocked from yours. I will be more at ease." He said.

Even as he spoke, her mind closed to him, sealing off her memories from him. She smiled lightly. "There you go." she said gently, shoving her hands into her pockets. She shifted her weight. "I really am sorry. I didn't know I'd find that..." she looked at the ground for a moment, "If it's any consolation, you guys are really good at hiding it." She lifted the culprit book to her, opening it to the pages that had betrayed them. "I can get rid of them. I can adjust the ink so that it says something else. Or even just erase the page completely..." she offered, not even looking down at the book that now floated open between her and Eben.

When Lex somehow sealed off her mind from his, he couldn't feel her memory's in his head, and it made him uncomfortable, why? He didn't know. Everyone he meets and he can't see there pasts, make him slightly uncomfortable. "Strange... how can you block of your mind from mine?" He asked, a bit confused, then his eyes turned dull once more.

He shook his head. "We are not that good a making sure that our secret is kept one..." He said quietly. He glanced around at the people who were still watching, shocked at the turn of events. He looked at the book and reached out a hand and took it from the air, and ran a finger across the spine of the book. "No.. don't worry about it... I'll take care of it." He said, not wanting the book to be destroyed or anything. "I'll just take to my dorm and keep it there... I don't like a book being... mistreated." He said, still running a finger on its spine.

Lex shrugged. She'd learned how to do it because her best friend was telepathic, and she didn't like having her thoughts read. "Well...I don't really know, I just kind of learned it..." she paused, looking up, trying to figure out how she'd done it the first time, "Basically, I just immagine I built walls around my mind. Invisible ones. The thicker I immagine them, the less people can see." she mentally thinned the wall, letting out her happy memories, "See?" she smiled, shifting her weight.

Lex nodded understandingly. "I understand. Well, since I've kind of become a guardian of your secret, since I stubled into it, I'll help you keep it that way." she smiled, then turned a dark gaze on those still watching and listening. "What are you looking at?" she snapped, her whole being radiating frustration. It worked, and they all turned back to their biddings, she grinned at Eben, "Starting with that." she said simply, all slivers of her well faked frustration gone with the wind.

"I see.... amazing, never knew that could work, but, I guess it could." He said shrugging, then again stared at the people, who Lex snapped at them, and he smiled. He looked back at her. I guess she isn't too bad... could be worse, he thought. "Since you know it, and your going to keep it... Then, I hope I don't hear people start talking about this." He said, in a dull tone again.

The door opened and Eben looked, and saw Tear slip in, Trephas, as usually, right behind her. Tear was smiling, and her eyes sparkled, and she put a hand to her mouth, to stop a laugh from escaping, and Trephas nudged her to be quiet, and with that, she let out a yelp, that was a laugh also.

Tear ran to Eben, and leaned on him, and whispered in his ear, then she pulled away, giggling, and she fell on the floor, laughing hard. Eben stared at her, and a smiled creased his lips. He looked up and looked at Trephas who was walking over to them slowly.

"Hey, Lex..." He said, and looked at the book in Eben's hands, then at his cousin questionly, and Eben stared back, then he break the gaze by looking at Lex. "So... Lex... I was wondering... There is the Valentine Hoedown coming up, and I wanted to know if you'd like to go with me?" Trephas asked, shifting his weight from one foot to the next.

After he said that, Tear laughed, quite hard. For some reason she found it very funny. She stood to her feet, a little shaky at first, and wiped her eyes, that had tears in them, after laughing.

Lex raised an eyebrow as the hyterically laughing Tear entered, followed closely by Tear. She threw Eben a look that said, 'I leave it up to you to tell them if you want to, if not, I'll pretend innocence.' before glancing back at the two.

"So... Lex... I was wondering... There is the Valentine Hoedown coming up, and I wanted to know if you'd like to go with me?"

The eyebrow went up a little further, not betraying anything of what she was thinking as Tear once again collapsed in laughter. Then she glanced back up at Trephas with a grin on her face. "Well, I'd have to say, it'd be a lot more effective if you didn't have a laugh track following you everywhere," she gestured to Tear, "But yes, I'd love to go to the hoedown with you."
