"A lot of sharp objects," Catalina noted out loud, a hint of amusement in her voice.

"Okay, I've learned some of the things you can do, what are some of the things you can't do? How much damage can you take before you're at the end of your rope?"

"Does your blood regenerate as quickly as your skin? If so, that is very powerful. Otherwise, there are plenty of things on this island that could spill that amount of blood."

Politeness dictated Catalina say, "Would you like to know anything about me or my people?"

Fae of the Unseelie court rarely gave away their secrets, and never without a price. It was the rule.

"Like most of my kind, my abilities are subtle. In general, the magic that surrounds us is subtle but always present. Most of my magic revolves around the mind or the forest. For instance, I possess the unique talent to adapt to any environment, save the ocean, and survive. I intuitively know who and how to find food, water, and shelter."

Catalina debated something, then said. "Some of my magic is less effective when people know about it. So I do not often go into them."

Catalina laughed. She actually laughed at this. It was pure and joyous. "The fae are not druids. I am a Spriggan, beware what you call my people. Most Spriggan would be offended to be considered among the druids. And no, many of my powers are based around the forest and other such landscapes, but I have a few very useful mental abilities."

Catalina thought about his next question. "To love or hate my powers I would have had to experience other things. I have not, so I cannot say. When I spend my adolescence in court, more often than not I did know the extent of people's powers. Some humans say you can tell the strength of a fae by how innocent they look."
