Gyres took a long, deep breath. “So your the little thief?” Gyres asked calmly as he sat on his makeshift throne. Before him was a slim, harpy-like man who was pinned down to the floor by two armored Ashen. The harpy stuttered “P-Please Gyres! Have forgiveness!” Gyres rolled his eyes and groaned. “Oh my god can any of you say anything original? It’s all ‘Please don’t.’ Or ‘Have forgiveness.’ You know you’re getting punished so just...stop talking.” The harpy held his tongue for a moment before asking one final question. “W-What are you gonna do to me?” Gyres was quiet for a moment as he thought before finally making a decision “Cut off his tongue. I don’t want to hear him any more.” The harpy would squeal and panic as the men that held him down began to force open his mouth and pull out their tongue. Before the blade could come down though, another Ashen bust into the room. “GYRES SIR! Y-Y-You have a visitor. I think their here for recruitment.”

Gyres’s mood suddenly perked up as they jumped up from where they sat. “Finally! Someone interesting is finally here, take the thief to the back rooms and do it. I don’t want our dear visitor to be scared off, and there better not be any problems or else both of you are losing your tongues too.” The two ashen holding the harpy down nodded and began to drag him off through the corridors leading deeper into the building. Gyres meanwhile ran a hand through their hair as they began to relax. “Well what are you waiting for? Let them in already.”

Caissa hadn't heard specifics, but she had gotten the gist through the door. Blah blah blah, you have failed me for the last time nonsense. She didn't wait for the doors to be opened when Gyres told his lackey to let her in. She just nudged the door open with her foot the second the latch released.

To say she looked out of place was an understatement. Dressed in her school uniform with a bully, oversized wool sweater over it, she looked more like she was here for study group. She didn't carry a weapon in either hand, just an iced coffee that she sipped through her straw in a way that oozed disrespect. "Some set up you've got here. Got a real... king of the garbage heap vibe going on. Good for you."

Her eyes darted around the room casually, taking in all the sights. Making notes of faces and positions of the people present. And of the guy sitting on the makeshift throne at the far end.

"You must be Gyres. I've heard... well not a lot, I'll admit. Some rumors, hearsay, probably some lies too."

Gyres chuckled as Caissa entered the room and casually trashed on Gyres’s throne. “Heh, I like you already. Welcome to the Nest! It’s certainly seen better days but....we’ve made due with what we have.”

Gyres got off of the throne and made his way to Caissa, eyeing her up and down. “You’d be correct, I’m Gyres. But who might you be? My men say your here for recruitment but I’d prefer actual confirmation. I mean surely you came here for some reason and not just to call me king of the garbage heap.” Gyres chuckled again

"Maybe I did. That would be hilarious." Caissa smirked, taking a other purposefully long sip of her coffee, slurping obnoxiously through her straw.

"But no. I'm not here to join your boy scout troop. I dont get recruited; I recruit." She gave a flippant wave of her free hand as she paced around, keeping her vision floating between the various people in attendance. "You're talking to - arguably, of course - the biggest drug pusher on Manta Carlos. And - not arguably - the smartest person in the room. You can call me Betty."

Gyres carefully listened to what ‘Betty’ had to say, however his men didn’t seem to like it. One of them got up from where they were sitting, slamming their hands on the table next to them. “You come in here insulting Gyres and acting like you own the place as you talk about recruitment? Fuck you you little-“ Gyres watched the grunt, his happy smile not leaving his face as he did so. However for some reason Gyres turning his attention to the grunt caused them to quickly shut up and sit down, mumbling to themselves.

Gyres then turned back to his guest. “My men can get a little...excited. Anyway, ‘Betty’ if you are a drug pusher you’ve certainly come to right place. You may have heard I’ve established a little bit of a market, so I’ve certainly got a stockpile.”

Caissa' eyes flicked over to the man who had gotten all riled up about her. Her mouth widened into a grin as she analyzed him. Nothing special: easy enough to kill if need be. Giving her half finished coffee a swirl, she tossed it just so so that it would splash all over his feet and then gave a look of mock horror. "Oh, so sorry sweetheart. I thought you were the trash can. Clean that up though, will you? The grown ups are talking."

Turning her attention back to Gyres, Caissa went through the process of cracking her knuckles one by one. "Sorry about that. See though, here's the thing. I don't need drugs. I have drugs. Too many drugs, in fact. What I need, and what I think you can help me with, is distribution."

She pulled out a small vial containing a powder so dark red that it was almost black, but still unmistakably red as well. "We're still work shopping a proper name. I won't bore you with the chemistry, but it's synthesized from Hellion blood - those are the demons associated with the Catholic seven deadly sins," she explained as she closed the distance between herself and Gyres so that he could take a closer look.

"Each one is a little different. Gluttony gives you hella munchies, pride gives you big dick energy - but all of them give the best high with a nice, long plateau."

The man scowled at Caissa as her coffee splashed at his feet, however he didn’t make any noise this time and instead went to get a mop so he could evade angering Gyres.

Gyres meanwhile didn’t seem phased in the lightest at Caissa chucking her coffee at one of his men. If she truly was a big drug pusher then her help might actually be of use. “You need distribution huh? Well I’ve certainly got the manpower, and the contacts.”

When Caissa pulled out the sample vial Gyres immediatly tried to examine it as best he could. He was certainly listening to Caissa but his attention was focused more on the drug she had with her. “Well it certainly looks professionally made. However I been in this game for a while sweetheart, what is the cut? I’m not going to waste my time peddling this shit for free after all.”

"Straight to the point," she said, her grin fading into a cocky smirk as she slipped the vial back under her sweater. "Gods I'm glad to be talking to someone who doesn't mince words."

Caissa had already done the math: she had to keep the business profitable for Malakias or he'd have no reason to keep producing the stuff. They were paying their suppliers per pint, which was more than fine given the quantities they could make with that. But for this, they'd need to kick back a percentage.

"You have two options. You can run this operation yourself and get five percent. We'll just deliver the stuff and leave you to your business, checking in to make sure everything's going alright of course." She paced to Gyres' right, her left, keeping her eyes trained on him and her familiar's eyes trained on his men. The rat in her sweater had orders to bite her if any of them looked like they were going to do something stupid.

"Or, option two. You get twenty percent, but you don't make a move involving my product without consulting me first. You want to scratch your balls during a sale? You ask my permission first. That goes for you and all your men. The other stuff you do, I couldn't care less. But this is my baby."

Autonomy or profit. Those were the options she was giving Gyres. She didn't know what kind of man he was, if he valued not having someone breathing over his shoulder more than money. But either way, she would be getting what she wanted.

Gyres had to think for a little bit with the options given to him. Both were equally appealing but he needed to figure out which one was the better choice for the both of them.

“I’m going to have to go for the five percent. I kinda like the way I have things set up right now, and I’d rather not have someone mess it up. Besides I think it’s kinda obvious that my men don’t really enjoy you being here so the more distant we are the better. So when can I expect the first drop off? I need to check a few things before I get the shipment.”

"Deal," Caissa said, not even having to give it any thought. She already knew how she would deal with Gyres and his men if they tried to fuck her over. But she couldn't help but sneer at the comment about his men not liking her. "Well they can get over it. I might not be overseeing you directly, but you can bet your ass I'll be around from time to time. And of course I'll be watching to make sure that you don't run off with my money."

Not that she cared as much about the money. Her sneer turned into a smirk as she looked at the man who was mopping up the coffee she had thrown. She closed the distance between the two of them, a confident sway to her hips as she did. Leaning in, she whispered in his ear, "You missed a spot," as she kicked the half empty cup to send more of the drink spilling out onto the floor.
