Whoa! Anna watched in delight as the keys bounced back and forth between the two portals that materialized right in the room. "That's so cool!" Shadow powers. She wondered if she had any powers like that. Probably not. She was a siren, which apparently meant her talents all lied in music. At least she liked music. "Can you send people through them?" Anna stepped closer to one of the portals and eyed it curiously. She wasn't about to try without an okay, but man, would it be cool to go through one portal and come out the other.

She looked back to James as he offered her a small object. Taking it gently in her hands, she examined the dove that was made with surprising detail. "This is amazing! You made this? You're sure you want me to have it?" She traced the lines of the dove's wing with her finger. How cool was this kid?

"Maybe," smiling, he focused, the two ports grew in size, he hopped through one and came out the other, catching his keys as he did. "It can be useful," James wasn't a show off, but he felt like showing her his powers anyways.

He blushed as she complimented his statue, he hadn't told many about his little hobby, even though he'd grown really good at it. "Yeah it's all yours," he said with an embarrassed smile, "a gift."

"I could show you the few others I've made," he had them back in his dorm. "I wasn't sure if anyone would like them."

She watched in wonder as he disappeared through one portal and appeared from the other almost immediately. "Awesome! I wanna try!" Wiggling with excitement, she jumped through the portal he'd stepped through. It was disorienting and made her head spin a little, but she appeared through portal's twin, safe and sound.

"Why not? This is really good," she replied, holding up the dove. "You should really take pride in your work. I don't know anybody else who can make these kinds of things." And he had more. "I'd love to see them," she said earnestly. James was nice, and super talented. She liked him. They were going to be good friends. Her first friend at the academy! So far, so good.​

Smiling he chuckled as she hopped through the portals. Not many would just let a stranger teleport them like that. "It's cool, took me a while to get used to it though," he took a step closer, he knew that it could be disorienting the first time.

He couldn't help blushing again as she complimented his starving skills, he was good. "Thank you, but it's not much compared to your music," he continued smiling, James was normally shy, but he couldn't help but be more social around her, "but yea I have more."

"If you want I can show you around, both the school and the city," he was actually really surprised that he made such an offer, by she seemed really friendly.

Her smile brightened further, "Could you? That would be awesome. I haven't done too much exploring; between unpacking and all the info they threw at me, there hasn't been much time for it yet."

Anna put the little wooden dove away in the purse by her hip, the strap slung across her body. "Where to first?" she asked as she bounded towards the ballroom door. This was exciting! She now had a guide for her first true exploration of her new home.​
