Rory thought about this. Failed to contain. Kind of sounded like that was going around. "If that's the--" but she stopped herself. Aren didn't look too good. She sighed, then forced a smile. 
Rory nodded slowly. She knew what it was like to have a second family (she'd had a first but most of that was lies. Something she didn't need to get into). But her team had never really hurt her. Fucked her over a little? Sure. Most definitely. But really hurt her? Never.
Rory looked off to the side, thinking. "I suppose... just because someone loves you and you love them doesn't mean they aren't toxic for you. And you need to cut toxic things out of your life. You don't have to be angry or hope they're hurting, but you need to understand that your wellbeing needs to come first. You have to love yourself."
Rory remained quiet. Aren seemed to be thinking hard about this. Odd. She kind of got it, but Rory had always been about moving forward. She'd had to be. If she hadn't pushed herself up time and time ago, no one could have done it for her (not for lack of trying, but her mother hadn't been the strongest person emotionally speaking).
Rory tensed up at first when Aren jolted forward. When he hugged her, though, she hugged him too and pat his back to boot when she felt the briefest hint of tears across her cheek. He didn't sound like he was crying.
