Anti-Aura Legislation Update
As announced late last month, the Manta Carlos Government has released new legislation for the handling of ranged passive effects, commonly known as Auras. The legislation will formally come into effect at the start of June, but all citizens are urged to familiarize themselves with the legislation ahead of its official rollout date. For those who now find themselves in need of a power nullification bracelet, the Manta Carlos Government is providing vouchers that will cover the associated cost. For those who are unsure of where their powers fall, the MCPD is offering consultations for those who are unsure.

"I'm just happy we got it out when we did," one official was quoted as saying. "When Minister Atti fell ill when he did, I was worried it would be put off even longer, but he came through at the last minute. This legislation has been a long time coming, and I hope everyone can recognize that."

Minister Atti Under Quarantine
After first being reported ill at the start of the month, Minister Atti, head of Manta Carlos's Department of Justice, has been hospitalized. While initially reported to simply be a fever, the disturbing set of rapidly progressing symptoms has lead doctors to believe that Minister Atti may be suffering from a mutation of last years March Virus.

"We don't believe this was intentional," one official was reported as saying. "But the March Virus had a high potential for mutation, and if even one person was still walking around with it, there was always the chance this could happen."

Several other ministers have been quarantined for observation as the Health Department aims to minimize the chance of a possible outbreak.

"This isn't going to be a repeat of last year," one official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity. "We know what the virus is like and how it works. We know what's coming. We're already moving towards addressing the possible risks and aim to have a solution as soon as possible."

Student Elections Underway
It's that time of year again! The first term of Student Council Elections are soon to be in full swing, so everyone get your fliers or pens ready.

While the last few years of the elections seem to have been hit or miss for candidates, this year is looking up with bright-eyed newcomers stepping up to the plate.

Manta Carlos is excited for what they bring to the table, and we hope to see some future ministers in this little batch!
