
The Manta Carlos Chronicles are a local newspaper for the island. You can read more about them here.
Sienna has one major rule she is adamant about. She expects her staff never to let their personal life cloud their professional one. The integrity of the paper must always be kept alive.
Beyond that, the rules for the paper are common sense:
1. Meet your deadlines.
2. Always be on the lookout for a story.


Rough outline of newsroom hierarchy.
Breaking News Producer
3 Spots AvailableThis position creates front page stories. They are given large scale stories and are a critical role in the newsroom. Consider them the face of the newspaper. Their article is the first thing people will see whey they grab a paper.
Community Producer
2 Spots AvailableThis position is all about social interaction, public relations, and marketing. Community producers ensure the newspaper is known and up to date with all the new methods of marketing.
Editors
Unlimited Spots AvailableEditors are just as they sound. They edit work before it's officially put in the paper, checking for everything from typos, to incorrect dates/times/names, and grammar. Editors are divided up into departments of the newspaper (IE: editor of Ask Allie, etc.), which are ruled by head editors. Editors may be in charge of responding to story pitches, assigning and editing stories and sometimes writing.
Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief heads the entire publication. They deal with the difficult decisions and ensure that everyone is doing their job. Their roles may range from designing the entire editorial line-up or managing the whole editorial team to ensuring the publisher’s goals are met or dealing with decisions of journalism ethics and integrity.Editorial Assistant

Freelance Writer
Unlimited Spots AvailableThese are writers who do not directly work for the newspaper but submit articles for money, recognition, and experience.
Interns
2-3 Spots AvailableInterns are students or trainees who work in the newsroom as assistance for experience. Interns at the Manta Carlos Chronicles do get paid a small wage, but it's less than they would make at a regular minimum wage job.
Managing Editor
1 Spot AvailableThe Managing Editor reports to the Editor-in-Chief while managing the rest of the department. They also stand in for the Editor-in-Chief when the latter is not present. The Managing Editor's duties include but are not limited to assigning stories, overseeing each section of the publication, staff hiring, writing, editing, and enforcing deadlines
Photographer

Reviewer/Critic
Unlimited Spots AvailableA reviewer or critic is a staff writer or freelance writer that evaluates the quality of a particular product, service, or genre. They tend to specialize in one area, such as books, film, theater, technology, restaurants, or other interests.
Sponsors
Unlimited Spots AvailableSponsors are those who provide funds for the Manta Carlos paper. Naturally, sponsors are offered ads for free or at discounted prices (depending on their donations) and other benefits and attention/free advertisement.
Staff Writer
Unlimited Spots AvailableA staff writer is employed by the publication and works to report and write constant articles for the paper. Like the editor position, staff writers tend to write for one department, of which there is an editorial head.
