Felix eyed the switchblade near his eye. Inappropriate bodily reactions aside, he acknowledged that this was, really, a dangerous situation. He couldn't possibly win this. He was severely lacking in the brute strength department. When Felix took down bigger and badder, it was with intelligence, cunning, stealth and careful preparation. None of that meant anything when the cards were already stacked against him.

Did his powers prevent eye loss? He had a gut feeling that it didn't, and he wasn't about to find out, no matter how arousing the prospect of getting his eye yanked off and cut off by a handsome psychopath was (god help him). He didn't feel fear, more greatly inconvenienced and disgusted at having to get a prosthetic eye.

"Would you really cut my eyes out? They're so pretty attached to my body." He batted his eyelashes. He had no power here, he knew, but he wasn't about to be bullied. He needed some semblance of control behind his sharp tongue. He studied Jett's face. He didn't know about his intentions, but it was becoming clearer and clearer that he didn't have any ulterior motives past chatting.

They were in the mall basement and he was threatening Felix at knifepoint. To chat with him. He really did attract the weirdos.

"You really want to get to know me, do you? Why? I can't say a man's ever crashed an elevator for me, but I'm flattered." He considered the request, turning it over in his lips, eyebrows furrowing. "I'm not that interesting. I'm twenty-eight, Hindu, a Pisces. My favorite color's blue. My favorite book is Siddharta by Herman Hesse. My favorite band is October Project. I graduated Starlight with a degree in Criminal Justice and a doctorate in Criminology, though I was originally in the Fine Arts course. I have a cat named Mittens and he has the cutest paws you'll ever see."

This was all idle chatter, of course, carefully watching if this was the sort of information Jett was looking for. He tipped his head back, exposing his neck and giving Jett a once over. "Is that seriously why you crashed the elevator? You know, we can just make out if you want."

Jett nodded in agreement, patted Felix's face and studied his eyes as if they were already out of Felix's body and in little glass jars. "They are pretty. And they're extra cute with that skin tone. If I took out the eyes, I'd have to go the extra mile and skin the face."Jett trailed off, bit his lip in contemplation. "That would be really fucking annoying."

When Felix mentioned that no one had ever crashed an elevator for him, Jett peered around before grinning down at his new friend. "I like to think outside the box." Yeah, it was a pun. Come at him.

He was silent as Felix listed off basic things about himself. Favorite color, book, college majors. Blah, blah, blah. He nodded, feigning interest in the things he already knew.

"Liar. You're not boring, but that information was. I know most of that. Except the kitty paws things. I'll need evidence of that." A thoughtful pause at Felix's next suggestion.

"Again, don't trust you. I'm going to let you up now, though. Don't try to shank me. This elevator is small, and I'm bigger than you."

With that Jett rolled off Felix, quick to put his own back against the elevator's wall and keep his eye on.. well, his date. Friend. Hostage. Same difference.

"C'mon, Felix, we shared a few classes. I know what you majored in. But if you wanna start with boring details," Jett sighed in exasperation before rattling off favorites. "Twenty-eight. Pink. Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. And yes, Felix, this is why I crashed the elevator. It wouldn't have happened if you just talked to me in the first place. I can't help but feel like we've drifted apart since college. And I am a gentleman. Thanks."

Nevermind that they were never officially friends in college. Semantics.

What was with psychopaths and this weird fixation with his eyes? He could've sworn he remembered Toby mention he wanted to put it in a jar, too. Felix frowned. "See, if you did that, I'd have to cut off your dick, and that would be unpleasant for you, wouldn't it?"

Ugh. Puns. Really? Still, he couldn't complain all that much when Jett finally rolled off of him. Felix muttered a 'thank god' and fixed up his hair, uncaring that he was stuck in here with a sociopath with a knife. "Bigger than me? We're the same height, jackass. And not in these heels." He stuck his tongue out at him.

Felix listened to him spit out favorites with an amused look on his face. He sat with his legs folded, resting his cheek on his hand. "Pink. Really? I never would've guessed."

When Jett was done, Felix was at a loss for words. It was... ugh, he couldn't explain it. It wasn't as if they were strangers. Felix saw Jett on a regular basis, but it was restricted to the classroom and the courthouse. He enjoyed him on some level, he liked his face and his mind, but when he thought of him in relation to Toby — it just stung. Felix looked away, frowning.

"Can't drift apart if we were never really close, can we? Look, Lavelle, I don't feel like we should be talking. Outside the courtroom, I mean. It's weird, and I don't want to get caught up in..." Felix gestured vaguely. "Whatever you and Toby and your other friend is in. I don't do romance, and it's bad enough Toby keeps asking me out. You too?"

"Woah," Jett said, making a play of acting genuinely surprised. "Violent. And when I say bigger, I meant I have more muscle mass. Look at you. Look at that waist. Someone could snap you like a twig. Very twinky. It explains my attraction."

In a true show of adultness, Jett stuck his tongue out in reply to Felix, squinting and making a completely ridiculous face as he did so. Notably, he didn't put away the knife yet, still not trusting that Felix wouldn't use his heels or something against him.

His face blanked at Felix's expression. He'd honed in on the stupid pink thing. "It's a bold color, jackass. Pink don't give a fuck that you think it's girly, s'all I'm saying. Also, you look like an ass, sitting like that." Speaking of pink, Jett's cheeks were colored in it as he grumbled something about this was why he didn't share.

Jett blinked when Felix looked away from him, sombering at the expression on the other man's face. "Firstly, boyfriend, not other friend. He's a boyfriend.

"And two, what is that even supposed to mean? Because it sounds like you're scared or something. I'm not going to stop trying to be your friend, or even getting you on a date just because you're nervous about personal connection. Besides," he opened his arms and motioned to their situation, "this isn't romantic, it's ridiculous."
