Aren had spent days trying to find the location of someone he met in the community center. Right now he was the only chance Aren had of understating what he was and why he had his powers. It took a very long time but Aren was eventually able to learn that Jude was currently in a local library. Aren rushes to the library as soon as possible and frantically searched for Jude. Once Aren found Jude he quickly rushed over. “Jude! I’m so happy I found you! I have a lot of questions and your the only one that can really help with this. Your the smartest guy I know....that is still alive.” Aren muttered that last part.

Jude was just reading. Really, just reading. He wasn't expecting anyone to storm up, talking excitedly and more than a bit too loudly for a library.

"Aren," Jude said, his flawless memory reminding him of literally everything he'd spoken to Aren about before. "Shh." He flipped the book shut, abandoning it on the table. He knew what page he was on, and it wasn't like he couldn't come back later, but he gestured towards the door, ushering him out as he did.

There was no point talking in a library.

"What did you want to ask?" Jude asked once they were clear of the entrance, heading over off to the side.

Aren happily followed Jude to the outside of the library, his mind was brimming with questions he wanted to ask but Aren didn’t know which ones he should ask first. “Well there are just so many questions I could start with I don’t know where to begin. A lot kinda pertain to you and your god’s relationship as I’ve been thinking maybe I also have a god in me. I mean it would explain why I can’t die.” Aren had been thinking greatly on this, it was the only solution he could possibly come up with.

Jude, generally speaking, actually really liked questions. He liked answering. He had always liked explaining things, but not necessarily been great at it (especially low level questions - often it was hard for him to drag himself back down to a beginner level). Giltenn, though, really liked answering questions. It wouldn't have been incorrect to say that it was one of their primary purposes in life.

"Well," Jude said, trying not to sound as certain as he actually was. "You're not a god. Or at least you don't have one attached to you. I'd be able to tell, I'm pretty sure, unless it was going out of its way to hide itself."

Aren made what sounded to be a sigh of relief when Jude said that. “Oh, alright then. I suppose that’s good. That was my only real possible idea of why I have my powers but I’m back to stage one......” Aren looked at Jude’s arm. “For one, I was wondering how connected to you Gilten is. Is like two hosts sharing a body or one soul and the god quietly helping. Also, what would happen if the arm was disconnected from you?” Honestly Aren didn’t know why he was wondering about these questions but he supposed it was his environment raised him to question everything.

"I mean," Jude said warily. "Some people just have powers. Like, in my world it was like that, but here too. Some people have powers because they're things, or related to things, but some people just have powers because. Like, genetics don't really make sense. Sometimes you've got a family of redheads and then someone's randomly blond because six generations ago you had someone with the gene."

Really, he felt a bit like Aren was obsessing over the answer to a question that might not have an answer. Like, there might not be a solution.

"Me and Giltenn are separate beings," Jude clarified. "Technically their body is just the gauntlet, but they spread the gauntlet and joined it to my body to keep me alive. If you removed it, they'd be entirely separate again. We're only mentally connected as long as they're touching me, and that just happens to be all the time."

Aren was silent for a moment to properly process what Jude told him. “Jude. I believe every question has an answer. That has been drilled into my head for years apon years. Sometimes one must dig to extensive depths though.” Aren then went quiet for a second.

“So if Gilen was disconnected and someone else touched him would they be connected?” Aren asked, a very curious tone in his voice. Before Jude could answer Aren went wide eyed and spoke again. “Wait! I remember what I wanted to ask. I want to ask for your help, you are very knowledgeable so perhaps you could help unlock this hard drive?” Aren took the hardive off the necklace he wore and showed it to Jude, it looked rather ordinary. “This thing has tons of data from the facility I was at. Problem is that it’s lock is constantly shifting and I don’t know how I can unlock it.”

Jude didn't really agree. There were a lot of questions that had no true answers, questions to vast and unthinkable.

"Giltenn," Jude corrected gently, processing the question. "Yes. Well, Giltenn gets to choose if they want to accept a host. They could reject someone entirely and kick them out, and then it'd just be a metal gauntlet with nothing special about it for them."

Which would be unfortunate for them.

"I'm not a huge computer person, but I guess it depends on how it's encrypted. If it's math based or anything, I could probably just have Giltenn calculate."

Aren nodded quietly to what Jude said about Giltenn, storing every word he said somewhere in his mind folds. “Alright I see.....”

Aren nodded to Jude when he started talking about the hard drive. “Yea it is, they were still limited with modern technology for the most part. If you can open it your welcome to what’s stored on it, I’m sure your god friend would enjoy that. Just could you check my file and tell me about it? That’s all I ask.”

Jude considered the hard drive, trying to figure out how he could even handle it.

"How does it work?" Jude asked. "Plug it into a computer, and what pops up? Or... just, I guess, how does it work? I can do a lot of really complex calculations, but all the heavy lifting is done by Giltenn, and I need a way to get them to it... more or less."
