Darkness had pushed the remaining light away. Night had fully taken over, with a crescent moon high over head shedding just enough light to see by. A gentle sea breeze rolled in off the nearby beach to the estate of one Zoraida Del Bosque.
The house was surrounded on most sides by forest, which aided the figure standing at the edge of the wood line. Dressed head to toe in black, the only parts not covered was a face. Hazel green eyes peered across the lawn at the house.
"Lights have been off for a few hours now."
"I haven't noticed any significant movement, maybe a pet but nothing we didn't see before."
The demon Nuxxau, or Nux for short, spoke frankly inside his vessel's head. Adryan's response was a little more laid back. It was a strange change of pace for the two. Usually the trickster demon was relaxed and the Human was ever vigilant.
The pair had been out the last two nights, scoping the residence out. Standard expensive security system installed. Unfortunately for the system, Adryan could move through walls. Some druidic runes protecting it as well had been tested last night. Seemed they were only against ill will and as Adryan didn't want to hurt anyone, he should be fine.
"Alright let's go. You know the deal."
Breaking into a long controlled stride, he covered the grounds of the lawn quickly and quietly. Pushing up against the outside wall, Adryan closed his eyes and listened. Hearing nothing, his body began slipping through the wall till he was on the otherside. Looking around briefly, the black clothed figure disappeared from sight.
Now that he was inside, Adryan could move about freely while invisible. His body made no sound. No footsteps, no breath, no audible heartbeat. One of his favourite abilities Nux had granted him.
Searching room by room carefully, making sure to not disturb anything that would give away he was here. Eventually he found a purse he assumed belonged to Zora. Returning to a visible form, he opened it with gloved hands pulling a book from it.
Keeping a careful ear out, the thief cracked the book open, revealing it was indeed one of the items he was supposed to retrieve.
"Tuck it. Invisible. Quick." Nux sounded frantic and Adryan responded with no hesitation. Opening the pocket dimension bag on his hip, he stuffed the planner inside quickly and vanished again. The purse left sitting where it was, opened.
Invisible hazel eyes turned, glancing upon what he could only describe as a....flower? This was no ordinary flower. Six foot tall, arms as long, and blades that looked as if they could cut a man in half. Adryan froze, not sure how this creature would react.
"Well this is an interesting development." Nux almost chuckled. Very deliberately, Adryan took as step to the side, no sound coming out. The creature didn't seem to change from its path. Keeping his eyes on it, the pair moved up the stairs searching for the final item.
A safe. Obvious choice. But this had a hitch, the owner of the home was there asleep in the room. Adryan became visible once more, placed a hand on the safe and waited. Seconds later, the door gave way and he pulled it open with ease. Without touching anything, he looked in the safe and found his target.
Deft fingers picked it up and slid it inside the pocket dimension inside the bag on his belt, pulling the drawstring to close it. "Time to get out." Adryan agreed as he quietly closed the safe, turned invisible, and made his way back downstairs. Watching for when the creature moved upstairs, he dropped his invisibility and slipped through the wall.
Turning back invisible to mask his retreat, Adryan strided across the lawn and into the forest. Now to make contact with his client. He wanted to get rid of the items as soon as he could.
"Job well done."
"Yes...yes it was."
