Soujiro walked up the stairs and opened the door to the rooftop. To his liking, no one was there. As he walked onto the flat surface, he made it to the edge of the rooftop which he sat at no older than a month ago. He thought back to his first day at the school, filled with new people, love, drama, and good experiences. He, thought about Claire, the girl he kissed on that day and his current best friend in the whole school. It had seemed like a long month with getting to know people and signing up for the next school play, but the one thing that he always enjoyed was these moments to himself to be himself and be more open with everything.

He put down his back, took out his ear plugs, and turned off his music. He looked out over the island, with the sun in his eyes and the wind only blowing gently enough to make his hair blow like ocean waves. He took a quick look around to see if anyone was there, then he closed his eyes...and sang.

"I'm waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
I'm breathing in the chemicals

I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa

I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age."

Why did it seem that she liked to rooftops of the school so much? Was it because it was high up and away from everyone? Maybe, though she still wasn't sure of it for herself. Maybe it was the fact that the air was crisper, or better. Sighing softly as she slowly made her way up to the roof, she froze in lace when the sound of someone came from the rooftop. Someone was.... Singing? Who on earth would sing on the campus? Shaking her head lightly, she continued to walk up the stairs to the roof, but more quietly to see if she could figure out who the person was. Smirking as she recognized the person as she swung open the door, it was Soujiro. Waiting until he was done the verse he was singing, she crossed her arms impatiently. "Hey. What are you doing up here?" She asked coldly to him.

As Soujiro had finished part of the song, a familiar voice rang in his ear as he turned to the door to see Claire standing there with her arms crossed. "Maybe I just love the rooftop. It's like the only place in this school where I can be myself and not some mysterious guy. Wouldn't you agree, since we think alike and all?" He said to her with a smile, getting away from the edge and walking up to her.

Glaring at him, his reasons for being up on the roof were... Expected. The thing that surprised her was the fact that he stated that they thought alike, which she thought was highly untrue. "Where did you get that assumption?" She said as she kept a low voice. "I really don't agree because you shouldn't have to hide yourself. I mean we are on an island where pretty much everyone did that before coming here so." Looking away from him, she wasn't very pleased to see him up on the roof.

Soujiro was getting a bit confused from the way she acted and he gave her a curious look. "Is something wrong with you today? You know, I am your friend, so you can come to me with anything. He told her. He didn't really like the fact that she was treating him so coldly, but maybe reassuring her that he was her friend was probably one thing he could do. It almost felt like she was mad at him though...for some reason.

Was there something wrong with her? No, there was nothing wrong with her. Staring at him, she kept quiet as he asked her if she was alright. Moving past him, she then leaned herself on against the balcony, looking at the view. "I don't need friends." She didn't want to talk to him, and at the moment none of her friends had even talked to her, in a long time. She was perfectly fine with being on her own, and she didn't need people trying to barge into her life.
