The woods were an ideal hunting ground for many people on the island. They also made foe a nice place for naturally large, non humanoid creatures such as Straga to assume their true forms without any real risk of possible damage to public property. And considering his own personal primal urges this was the easiest place to stretch out. In this case he lay just outside of a clearing, waiting for a herd of elk he'd been silently tracking to appear. He lay silent and out of plain view, hidden by darkness and foliage. His breathing had even become muted as he drifted off.
He woke up after a few hours upon catching the scent of his prey. Straga scanned the group, selecting the three closest to him as his primary targets. With that, he lunged forward catching the first in his jaw, the rest of the herd began to bolt. His second and third targets were caught more off guard than the rest of the herd due to their close proximity to the first one He slammed his left forelimb on the second one, instantly killing it. He snarled and pounced onto the third, once again killing it instantly then dropped the initial one from his jaws and sighed.
After scanning sniffing around for anything that might attempt to make off with one of his kills before curling around them and digging into one of them. He would save the other two for later, making sure they were thoroughly protected with his tail as well as covering them with one of his wings. Generally speaking no one would be foolish enough to steal from something of his size. And even by dragon standards he was easily considered imposing. Yet he couldn't shake the feeling especially on this particular day that someone or something was watching him. He would simply lie in wait, and see what happened.
