Iaemor stood firm in the face of the blast, fully expecting to take it in order to protect his sister. He had seen the destruction the attack could commit, but figured if either of them had a greater chance to survive it it was him. Maya was weak already and he was unwilling to risk her safety. He heard his sister twin scream for him to run but ignored them, only to suddenly be knocked aside by surprise. Turning in shock, Iaemor saw as the clone was struck. The jellying effect from before taken to the next level. He breathed a ragged sigh of relief that it had been the clone and not the real Maya that had been struck.

"Are you well?" He called to his sister just in case. He knew that she was still weak but the last thing he wanted was for her to have been injured even more. Looking to the assassin, clearly spent Iaemor had bigger priorities. Rushing to his sisters side, and picking her up gently before dropping to the streets below in hope that help would arrive soon and the the wrath demon was too weak to keep following.

Maya was shaking in fear, not just pain. That spell was deadly. And it was so close to getting her brother. She would have been alone. With Iaemor gone, she wouldn't know what to do anymore. He was such a big part of her life... she would be better off dead at that point. "You... idiot..." she managed to say after he had taken her from the roof top.

Maya was crying now from almost losing Iaemor. "I told you to run!" If she weren't in so much pain, she would have hit her brother for being so stupid.

"Cursed bastard!" The assassin forced himself up, his skin flaking and cracking, making it look like the chasms of hell. Still enraged, he stumbled towards the edge of the building and jumped down onto the street. "Enough running!" he screamed out in a raspy voice.

Iaemor could hear Maya's sobs, and the wrath demon behind him. However his mind was more focused on being practical and remaining calm. Not only to be strong for Maya, but because he knew that losing his cool could only make things worse. Looking down the street, Iaemor saw it. The ambulance, and a cop car heading in their direction. He had to get Maya to safety.

He ignored the other demons demand, and did exactly the opposite. He ran as fast as he could towards the approaching cars, his head looking over his shoulder to keep an eye on the other demon behind. He doubted that he would simply be allowed to run and needed to keep an eye out for any threat behind him. "Almost there Maya. Everything will be fine." He said in ragged ran not for his own life, but for hers.

(OOC: I am back at last. So so sorry for the long wait.)

The assassin was brewing another spell, making his condition worse. This time however, he was going to pour his life into it, since if he failed to kill them this time, he wouldn't have to suffer the punishment awaiting his failure. But if he died and took both royals with him, then he will be immortalized, and his kin will profit in his stead. Maya could feel her wounds burning yet again. She grabbed her brother and dug her nails into his skin. Her whole body was tensed as she clung to what reassurance holding her brother would bring her. And just then, she could feel a familiar energy emanating from somewhere behind them. She opened an eye to see a flaming spear fall from the sky, striking down the assassin. "Rima..." she'd groan out. Rima was her personal assistant around the castle. A dark-skinned, voluptuous woman with the limbs of a dragon. She looked like she had been through hell and back. For a brief moment, both royals would hear the soft voice of this dangerous creature. She would tell them, "My Queen, my King, we are fighting back. But it is too dangerous for you to return yet. If you do not hear from us, then we have lost. Please, live and don't risk your lives." The assassin crumbled to pieces, and the servant immediately retreated to avoid being tracked to where Maya and Iaemor were hiding. With the immediate danger passed, Maya fell unconscious in Iaemor's arms.

Iaemor was thankful and shocked by the sudden apperance of Maya's servant and the explination that they were fighting back. Making him wonder if they had been track and attacked because the king of wrath felt that without there leader alive to place back on the throne that they would submit once more. Iaemor didn't care. "Thank you." Iaemor thanked the servant simply holding the unconcious Maya more concerned by the need to get her aid, then any news about their home.

Nodding at the servant, Iaemor kept moving rushing Maya to the ambulance. A couple police officers were threatened by Iaemor statue, but let him past when he beg that Maya needed aid and he had been the one to call for it in the first place.

At this point, there wasn't much that Maya could do. She just hung limply in her brother's arms, her breathing shallow. Unconsciousness kept her from feeling the sharp pain in her diaphragm. She wasn't stable, that will become apparent to the paramedics as soon as they laid an eye on her. She was deathly pale and her eyelids weren't even completely shut. If they checked, her pupils would only barely react to a light shone on them. They had expanded to the size of marbles and the whites of her eyes were riddled with red veins. Her heart was still beating weakly, but there was hope. While her body seemed like nothing more than a ragdoll, a hand kept a firm grip on her brother's shirt.

Iaemor did his best to help the paramedic get Maya to the ambulance, even shrinking down to his human appearance once they were inside to give them more space. his hand moving up to her hand clinging to his shirt and taking it in his as he sat down beside her. He knew that he was still slightly in the way, but wasn't willing to let her hand go. Squeezing it tightly to reassure her that she was still there. "Everything will be okay Maya." He said trying to sound confident but it was obvious that his voice was slightly strained. Strained from both fear for her, and the mental exhaustion of the battle setting in.

Once Maya was safely laid down in the ambulance, he was glad by the fact that no time was wasted. The ambulance driving off rapidly siren blaring. He knew the trip wouldn't be a long one. Cars were not as commonly used on the island as they were on the mainland, and being an island everything was closer together then some places, which included the hospital. He just hoped that it was fast enough.

Maya's blood stained the ambulance bed. She wasn't bleeding as much as before. She wasn't responsive towards anyone, except to Iaemor's touch. Her hand, by instinct, kept a firm hold on her brother's hand. Her life was now in the paramedics' hands, and how soon they could get her treated and stabilized. However, the strength of her grip was slowly fading, either because she was almost gone, or that she knew for a fact that she'll be fine. Whatever happens next, she hoped Iaemor would be able to rest. Then she'd be able to reach out to him.
