Did it seem like they were taking a long time to think about something? Tril pondered that as they looked back at Smokey and then realized... they didn't care. It didn't matter anyways. None of it mattered. Not the school, not the feelings of the poor girl who witnessed their death.
Tril didn't know what to do anymore so they just nodded sadly. Maybe Smokey would find the armor, maybe they wouldn't. Maybe the people at the school would be angry and come after them. If so, Tril would run and hide where no one would find them. Deep in the woods.
"We can meet here. It is easy to find. More like home than the school is," They answered quickly and shifted their head back to normal. Their large black eyes examined Smokey for signs they were going to be a threat or maybe they were going to gossip about their situation. No, that didn't seem true. "I don't care if she comes. But if it is a large group I don't think I will show up."
