he had returned...last time it took all of their strength to end him, and that was when he had been unprepared. Now he had his tools, he had his armor... He was ready for them.
Weapons bounced off of his armor, spells fizzled against the stronger energy field he naturally produced. His weapon...toxic liquid mercury that he could control flawlessly... There was only one way to save his friends... Before me was a complex Web of ley lines and sigils...I was altering reality...when it was complete... The Mercury, in the air, in our blood, all of it. On this seperate realm of existance changed to innert earth and dirt.
The pain of pushing the solid through my veins tore through me was driving sanity away from me...but that had nothing on the spell HE threw. The first beam of pure heat and ionic energy hit me in the chest...I was dead...even with my own barriers that I had raised to defend myself. I was whole only because of them. The pain though... Excruciating, was distant as my body but the floor...my friends would have been able to save me... If HE hadn't hit me again... Turning my remains to dust...
Trent's eyes flew open as the dream faded... He was panting... The air in The Vault...Trent's home and lair, Deep underground below even the roots of the mountains that lay above his head, moved as he stired from his rest breathing different as his bulk changed Air currents. "I've been dreaming to much of my past" he wispered as he shook himself removing dead scales from his body, they crashed to the floor like steel rain.
Trent couldn't help but remember that a dragon never stopped growing in truth. Being an immortal dragon just meant you never died of old age...so the problem only compounded on itself. After these musings he stood up fully abs began to walk down the halls of his home.
Each was taller then some skyscrapers, abs wide enough for a large castle and its outerwalls to move through them with ease. But as Trent walked he felt something...off. His normal deep copper scales changed to a white almost mist like coloration as he turned into a Mist Dragon and moved faster then the wind through his halls in a cloud. The disturbance was in his upper halls and so he flew.
When he was upon the area his senses told him was the disturbance his scales changed back to a deep shiny copper and he landed on the smooth stone floor. What he found there was... A child, why was it always a child. Trent took a step back and lowered his massive head to look at this young one. "You seem to be lost little one." his voice coming from such a massive chest made the very air around him shudder and vibrate.
