The day was cold, an overcast sky mirroring the mood of the woman who trudged through the forest in attire that was all too unsuited for such a task. Oriana was wearing one of her suits, a pinstriped charcoal affair with a violet tie.
Over her shoulders she wore a long brown raincoat several sizes too big for her. It wasn't to fight off the chilled wind, her inner fire kept her plenty warm. But it had belonged to her mate, and made her feel secure.
She thanked the gods of her old world that she had chosen to wear flats today rather than heels. No sense making an already difficult trip moreso.

Stopping to sniff the air, she pondered once again why she was making this trip. And cursed under her breath that none of the cowards in her clan had answered the call to accompany her. She swept her silver gray hair out of her eyes. She was here for a dragon.
A dragon named Trent, she had heard, lived in these parts of the forest. He was a teacher at the school, as far as she was aware, but she had wanted to meet him alone for the questions that she had for him. Oriana was hell-bent on bringing her clan back from the brink of extinction, and would let neither inane traditions nor the complacency of her kin stop her.

It had gotten quiet some time ago. No birds, no small critters. Even predators, who might den in such a place to keep their young safe, were nowhere to be heard.
Stopping to sniff the air, she found a scent that was quite familiar to her. She immediately recognized it as a Copper Dragon.
Adjusting her tie, she took a sharp breath and let out a small roar, a sound that seemed mismatched with her human appearance. It was not a roar of challenge or anger, but one of greeting. One that, she hoped, would be recognized. If this Trent was even in his lair at all.

Trent pinched the equivalent of the bridge of his nose as he looked at the large arcane Ley line map he had been working on. Though he had thoroughly scryed the lines himself the massive circle that he had been working on just had so many details that it had taken a year to get to this point. His smaller normal circles didn't require much energy or detail as they were again, small changes compared to what he was doing here. This circle was as wide as Trent was tall and that was a considerable amount.

Once the Ley Line Map was completed he would be able to being construction on his hobby of Golem manufacturing. Mostly as a time sink and to keep him busy when he wasn't grading papers. As he wrote another sigil in immaculate detail on one section he heard something, something he hadn't heard in too long. It was a request to come inside his lair. Almost everyone else had just stumbled in like it was some sort of Inn or Tavern. Turning his mass around he let out a roar of welcome, his large chest making the ground quake even though it was relatively quiet for him.

With that though he looked back at the Ley Map and scratched one more rune into the circle and headed towards the entrance to his lair. Not knowing who was here he decided to keep on his Copper Scales as he walked through the Vault that was his lair. The Ceiling was tens of feet above his horns and the walls were wide enough that he could flap his wings if he wanted to and only scratch the walls gently. But walking would probably take to long to be propper so putting his claw in the air he pushed forward and a sigil circle he was quite fond of appeared and as he walked through it he appeared near the entrance to his lair. He was a bit distant from it still but that was because his size would be too massive and he wouldn't be able to look down to see his guest.

Once he was there he lowered his head down so the person would see him on their right once they were inside. With that though his nose caught a familiar scent, that of a Gold Dragon, but slightly off... To Trent this was surprising for he didn't think there were any Gold Dragons on this Planar Wheel. This...might cause a few issues later but he didn't voice them now as there wasn't anyone to talk to yet. So he waited for his guest to come into his home.

The roar came to her hears, and Oriana's heart began to race. This was indeed a dragon from her planar wheel. Or at least one like it. Had someone from the ritual made it through to this world as well? She found it unlikely, as she had been thrown out by her own machinations.

Boldly, her shoulders back, she stepped forward into the lair. Her eyes adjusted quickly to the dark, and what she saw was astounding. A Copper Dragon, as she had sensed, but far more massive than she had ever seen. She looked up at the magic creature, and noted that this is what humans must feel when faced with her or her kin. Still, fear was not the right word. Awe.

With a respectful bow, she removed the long coat from off of her shoulders and folded it into her arms. With a sigh, she stood once again and looked Trent in one of his massive eyes.
"Hello. My name is Oriana Whitegold-Yskaandrar, head of the Yskaandrar clan. I apologize for the intrusion, but I had matters that I wished to discuss."

Trent waited for a short period of time before he more felt then heard someone joining him in the hall. Draconian abilities making it easy but he waited until he could see this person. Trent watched as a female dragon in humanoid form walked in and saw his frame which was larger then most Castle complexes. "I welcome you to my Lair Lady Oriana. I am Da'Rrah Evonsiaah, most know me as Trent Evensman. Please allow me to assist you in any way possible."

"I fear that anything we might discuss might require some better accommodations." Putting his claw to the wall the same glyph circle as before opened up the air distorted and in a heat wave sort showing the room that Trent had been in only a short while ago. "Now Lady Oriana, how can I assist you?" As he asked his question he began to move into the study, even as he was going through there was plenty of space for Oriana to move through as well. "and please if you need anything let me know."

Oriana stood tall as she watches herself and the massive dragon opened the wall into a study. His magic was impressive, she noted, as she followed him further in.

She stood near the entrance, head held high as she watched him. This was a moment of utmost importance. Metallic dragons respected grace and dignity, where their chromatic cousins only showed deference to strength.

"I need nothing, thank you. If I may, I will get right down to business. I know you are not part of any clan, but I am here to offer a branch of friendship with mine.
We were nearly wiped out by dragon hunters a little over a decade ago. We survive, but I wish for us to thrive again. And my clan has little faith in my ability to lead. I need all the allies I can get, right now."

Once Trent was in the room he did the equivalent to a dog or cat circling the spot he was going to lay down in before finally setting down and gracefully putting all his weight off of his claws. While he did so he listened to Oriana's request but he waited until he was laying down before finally responding. "Unfortunately Lady Oriana I cannot agree to joining any one clan in full. It is true that I do not have a clan connections here on this world. But I am the last of the Copper Wing from my original home. Other then some of the artifacts from there my name is the only thing I have left to remind myself of my family."

Putting a claw out in front of him and pulled up and a small grain silo appeared. He punched two holes in the top on opposite sides and began to drink from it when he put it down the next time he exhaled . "I can assist in anything you might need. I have a lot of resources at my disposal and I'm willing to aid in any other form you might wish. If it's a new place to live I'm more than willing to share my home here if that is what you need as a Safe Haven."

Oriana nodded once and stepped slightly deeper into the study. "I did not mean to imply me wishing for you to join my clan. My counsel would not allow such a thing at this time regardless. They think one outsider in their midst is enough."
With this she gestured to herself, making it clear just who this outsider was. "I would appreciate any aid you are able to lend however," she added, giving a deep bow.

The Copper Wings? She did not know of this clan from her world. Perhaps he was from a different, although similar, planar wheel? She pondered for a moment, then spoke up, "I am not familiar with that clan name. However, I am familiar with Copper Dragons as a whole. I am relieved to see that I am not the only displaced metallic dragon on this plane."
At least, she hoped that she was right in her assumption that Trent was from another plane. She did not want to look foolish if this were not the case.

"My Clan was that of Evonsiaah. When I refer to the Copper Wing I was talking of the Copper Dragon Race entire. I am both the last of clan and race, sorry for the confusion. Though I'm not so much displaced as 'chose to travel elsewhere'. I've spent the majority of my life exploring the vast rainbow of Planar Wheels that are in Reality. I only decided to teach here at the school about a decade ago or so." Trent took another swig of his custom drink as a purple smoke cloud was produced when he exhaled.

"But yes, I'm willing to assist in any way I can. But it seems like we are dancing around the subject. How may I assist you and your clan today Lady Oriana?" Trent spoke in a casual tone as he began to take another long gulp of his drink.

Oriana took a deep breath and clenched her fists. It was hard to talk about still. It felt like only yesterday, she and Bastion were celebrating the birth of their youngest. And then....

"As I mentioned, my clan was attacked a short number of years ago. Dragon hunters stormed our compound and killed several members of my clan. Most of my children and my mate were among them. The hunters who survived and fled also took my youngest, only a hatchling at the time."

Taking his invitation to make herself at home as permission to take her draconic form, Oriana did so. She stretched and flapped her wings once before settling down and folding them over herself like a blanket. Her white scales were streaked with gold, and the golden jewelry that she wore to compensate the bleaching of her scales glittered in the dim light.
Even in this form, she was still insignificantly small when compared to Trent. She was not intimidated however, and held her head high.
"I am still in the process of pulling my clan back together, but I need to make a show of force. I brought my clan here because I have information that led me to believe some of the hunters are here on the island.
But my sources stop there. I need allies, those who know the island to keep an ear to the ground for any signs of the hunters. Likewise, I wish to expand our archives further, if I am able. I would, of course, compensate you with any knowledge we have that you wish. Or gold from our hoard, if that is your preference.
Or anything you want that is within my power to give. I will pay any price to find the people that did this and bring them to justice."

Being in the middle of a sip when he heard Oriana speaking of dragon hunters made him breath in some of his drink which made him cough for a second. Once his coughing fit died down he gripped the container harder and the metal groaned under the pressure of his strength. As he glared a hole into his drink his scales began to change, a rainbow of color and energy warped around his body. Reds, Golds, Greens, Lightning, Fire...hundreds of different scales warped over his body. In a way this was his 'True' Form revealing his ability to change into any dragon type he wanted to be, so long as he met a dragon of the type.

"Bahamute damned dragon hunters and you say there here on the island?!" Trent was furious. In a way he had claimed the island as his 'territory' in a way of protecting it but he didn't need to from other dragons it was more just him saying this was home. But these dragon hunters were something he would not, COULD not allow to be on HIS island.

Eventually Trent's scales settled on a blood red color. "Do you know where they might be on the island?" His voice was now filled with hate towards these hunters. Mainly for the fact that they liked to kill his kin, and the fact that he had just adopted a young dragon who had lost his family to dragon hunters.
