Chloe's mind was working too slowly. She still didn't see what kind of danger she was in.

"Rare beauties?" she slurred. "What, like... art pieces?"

She slumped over in her chair. Only as she was losing consciousness did she realize, in horror, what Firroth meant. But by that point it was too late. She only had a few seconds to begin to process her fate before she was out.

Firroth smirked a bit as he watched Chloe drift off from consciousness. "Something like that." He replied as the girl slumped in her chair.

He casually looked around for people before standing and approching the unconscious girl. Carefully, he scooped one arm under her knees and the other around her back, then proceeded to lift her from the chair. He held her close to his chest before unfolding his wings and immediately soaring to the skies in the direction of his isolated cave.

~~

The golden dragon arrived at his cave with the unconscious girl in tow. He carefully placed her on her back on a pile of various colours of silk blankets before stepping to the middle of the cave. The middle area was larger with a higher roof, which was well-suited for what he was about to do; switch back to his regular form.

The transition was a painful one, and long as well. But once finally completed, he was in his true form; fifty feet tall, forty-eight feet long, and about thirteen and a half tons. He took a deep breath and rested in front of the cave entrance with his head exiting it, deciding to wait for the girl to awake.

The first thing Chloe noticed was that she wasn't dead. This was a good first step.

The next thing she noticed was that she was not restrained in any way. She was lying on a stack of silk fabrics in a cave, and not chained to a radiator in a basement. She didn't know where she was, but at least it shouldn't be too difficult to -

oh.

That brings us to the next thing that Chloe noticed. She was sharing her room in this cave with a massive, golden dragon. That would probably make escaping a little bit more difficult.

She still had her cellphone with her, she realized. An oversight? Did he even know what cellphones were? In any case, she didn't want to risk angering her captor by trying to communicate with the outside world already. This was a powerful advantage, and she didn't want to lose it by trying to deploy it too early.

Slowly, she sat up. She was dizzy, not quite feeling comfortable enough to stand yet. That must have been a lingering effect of whatever this 'Firroth' had done to her.

"Firroth?" she asked. There was no panic in her voice. If this creature did mean her harm, she would not give him the satisfaction of acting like a scared little girl for him.

Firroth's eyes darted to the side at the sound of Chloe's voice, even though his head was not turned in a direction he could see her. He remained in his current position, staring outside. The part of his body inside the cave seemed a dark golden colour, but the part outside glistened when the light snuck through the trees and beamed upon his scales.

"You're awake." He replied, his voice booming slightly now that he was in his true form.

He moved his tail to rest over his hindlegs, in a similar fashion as he did at the café earlier. The muscles in his wings tightened a bit, as it had been a while since he'd flown while carrying a person.

"...Yeah," Chloe said. It was hard for her to think clearly enough to speak. She was still drowsy from his influence. But Firroth didn't seem to have any immediate plans to kill her or anything, which was a good sign.

God, even sitting up was difficult for her. She adjusted the silks around so that she could at least sit up a little while leaning back on them. Once she was done, she spoke up again: "So... why did you take me here, Firroth? And where is 'here?'" Her voice only reflected a casual curiosity. She remained calm, at least on the surface.

Firroth let out a deep exhale from his nostrils as he let his tail fall back to the cave flooring, which caused a slight rumble. The rumble caused many coins and trinkets in the cave to jingle together, a sound he enjoyed to hear.

"Well, my dear, I have already told you why. I like to collect rare beauties." Firroth's pupils became smaller slits as a couple of beams of light found their way through the trees. "This is... my new home." The golden dragon moved his head ever-so-slightly to keep the light out of his eyes.

Chloe's eye caught the glitter of light on gold. She began to understand. This was a dragon's hoard, and now she belonged to it.

This meant a few good things about her immediate safety, at least. He would probably keep her well fed and not hurt her. She certainly didn't like the idea of belonging to him, but she didn't plan on staying here for too much longer, either.

She let out a long sigh, echoing her captor's. Far fewer coins jingled. After some moments of thoughtful silence, she spoke, seemingly resigned to her fate. "What does... that mean for me, then? What are you going to do with me? Girls are a lot more active and needy than gold trinkets."
