Open Finished The Darkness Within

"That's good to know... since I don't really need much sleep myself," Vladimir informed Konpeito, smiling a bit more at the younger shapeshifter's obvious excitement. The way his fur became more or less vibrant, according to each situation, was a detail that had not been lost on Vlad, and right now it made him extremely curious to see how Kon would react in much more intimate situation.

"How about Friday evening?" Vladimir stated as he sat up fully in his seat. "We could see how things go first, and if we get along as well as I think we will," here he gazed at Kon knowingly. "We could do something Saturday too," Vladimir suggested. It had been a while since Vlad had had a completely willing partner and he had to admit that the idea of it tantalizing.

"I guess that it is a date," Vladimir chuckled softly. It had been years, even decades, since he had done the proper dating thing. Since taking somebody home from a bar or out to dinner did not actually fall under Vlad's idea of dating, to him those were nothing more than casual hookups.

"That's fair," Vlad reasoned when Kon explained his stance. "I mean I could be just as transparent and ask whether you only want to date me cause I'm "a doctor"." Here he did air quotes since to most the term implied - money, reputation, social status, etc.

Vladimir had gone out with people in the past, who only saw his prestigious profession and not the person, and quite often it ended badly - usually for the person using him. His "playroom" was a silent testimony to that.

The fact Kon liked money did not really bother Vladimir as much as one might think, not when he heard it wasn't the only reason he wanted to be with him. The doctor had had relationships based on just an economic exchange before, and while they had not been bad, they ended up being very one-sided - and expensive, very expensive.

"Sound like you are saying I'm a huge workaholic," Vladimir teased, his whole demeanor now becoming a little less severe. He was also not at all offended, especially since it was the truth. He did work a lot, perhaps too much at times.

"Maybe I just need, or needed, to find someone you can distract me from my work," he told Kon, flashing him with a slightly naughty grin.

Vladimir just smiled at Kon's assurance that he was a workaholic simply because it was true, he was. Vlad had always been extremely driven, in whatever he did. Whether it be a vampire hunter or a doctor, or anything in between. He always took a keen interest in things and threw himself 100% into projects. A fact that probably contributed to Vlad's need to let out his stress in such an unconventional way.

Taking an embossed business card out of his wallet and Vladimir slid it across the table towards Konpeito. "Work and cell phone," he said as he exchanged numbers with Kon. "You can call either number or leave a message. In the afternoons, I tend to have patient consultations til five, sometimes six," he explained, letting Kon know that he probably would not be available to get back to him right away during those hours.

"If you need to reschedule our date or something comes up at work, just drop me a message, we can always work around it or reschedule for another time," Vlad told Kon. He clearly understood, knew and had experienced how work (and life) sometimes had a nasty or unexpected way messing up schedules, dates or meetings.
