<div align=center> It had been a long boat ride from the mainland out towards the island and if it hadn't been for the instructions she had found in the letter she doubted she ever would have found her way here! From the moment she set foot on the dock she had felt things she had never believed possible! Energies and scents that flooded over her and set her every nerve on fire

But she had come for a reason and she needed to complete just a little more work before she could have her fun, after quickly blowing a kiss to the boats skipper she had slipped through the city, making her way towards the school that she had been invited to attend, as she had moved a small smile had slowly spread across her lips, a smile that grew all the wider as she finally made her way into the main building and towards the admissions office, she couldn't help but wonder if those that had left her the letter knew just what she was, or whether they just knew she was gifted!

~

But quickly she was brought back to her immediate surroundings, thoughts of her trip to reach the island, and the school fleeing as she approached the admissions desk and gently rang the bell.

As she waited patiently she leaned against the desk before her, a short, pleated skirt hugging her waist, if the desk was short enough she would even perch herself upon it, kicking her legs idly as she waited, if on the other hand it was the taller style of desk she would lean against it, offering whoever came forward a nice look down the front of her blouse, the top two buttons unfastened to provide teasing glimpses of the supple flesh beneath.

A pair of white, lacy socks rose from her black combat boots and passed over her knees, but perhaps the most remarkable thing about the waiting young woman was her hair, it had been tied up atop her head, separated into a pair of ludicrously long pigtails that fell all the way to her backside. Thankfully though the succubus had more than enough a sense not to wander through the town or the school in her natural form, no, for this little task she had chosen a younger, human form, sunkissed skin unmarred by wings or tail, her hair unbroken by her horns, even surrounded by supernatural beings she didn't think they would be too accepting of one of her kind!

Naamah had little patience for tedious tasks though and she was quickly growing impatient, fiddling with the papers she had brought with her and the letter that she had found in her home as well.</div>

For the first time in what felt like forever, Aurora was starting to feel like her old self. The bug that had been plaguing not only her, but the entire school was started to wear off just a little bit, although new cases were still cropping up. Still; the rate was slowing down, and Aurora, having regressed 140 years in age was now starting to look more like herself.

Mostly. She was wearing the same blue dress and red cape that she normally did, albeit wrapped around herself a few times to disguise its actual length somewhat.

Aurora still appeared much shorter than her 5' 3" stature, but she had regained much of the maturity she had lost when the bug decided to make time spin wildly out of control. Frankly, Aurora could only be thankful that her abilities had not wreaked havoc on anyone or anything else.

Because she had been getting better, the mage decided it was best to go back to work. No doubt that Cytus had been busy trying to keep up, and may have been getting tired, so the least that Aurora could do was go back to walking new students around. Thankfully, she only had one today.

"Naamah Silus?"

She called, walking out from the back office.

"At least I hope I got that right, I'm certain that's you correct? Welcome to Starlight Academy. I presume you are here for the tour?"
Although Aurora hadn't read much into Naamah's file, wasn't she supposed to be a demon of some sort? Not as if it mattered, but frankly, she so far wasn't fitting the stereotype too well. That is of course, if stereotypes in the school were even to be believed.

<div align=center>At the sound of footsteps approaching Naamah perked up! At last she had a chance to play! Glittering eyes studied the approaching girl, suspecting that she was likely another student, but her choice of clothing made the succubus lift an eyebrow quizzically, shorter than average although that was rich coming from the five foot demoness. The aura that she gave off though and the way she carried herself spoke volumes about experience and maturity.

"Ah, yes indeed, I think I have to sign in somewhere but since you know who I am I guess I'm already signed in and ready to go?"

She smiled a bright and genuine smile at the mage and straightened herself, examining the woman a little more critically and with a deep curiosity! After all outside of this island the only supernatural being she had ever met was her 'father' and she had no idea what she was going to encounter, but she could feel her excitement mounting with every passing moment!

"And may I have your name as well miss?"

Deft fingers rolled the papers she had brought with her into a tube and tucked it under an arm before offering the woman a hand in greeting. It was all she seemed to have with her though, did this girl have no luggage? The demoness stretched out her senses as she prepared to follow the woman who had come to escort her around the campus and once more she felt that little thrill as she felt energies she had never sensed before, the feeling sent shudders through her spine and she could not help but wriggle slightly before offering Aurora her arm instead!

"Your sign in has already been taken care of. The school hasn't been exactly busy with new enrollments, so keeping track of the maybe one or two students we've gotten the past week isn't particularly difficult."

Cytus was rather efficient with those that had enrolled as well. When Aurora had come back to take care of any major paperwork, there was little to be had, and way too much time on her hands. Frankly, it almost made her a little ashamed to feel so useless for the past two weeks.

"My name is Aurora Silivasi-Awren. I am the Director of Music Education for the academy...and occasional tour guide in my spare time. You might notice the building is a little quieter than normal, but hopefully it won't stop you from enjoying the tour."

Aurora didn't question the no luggage part; she had seen stranger. Cytus had also informed her of an incident with a student whose snake tattoo had come to life and attacked her arm. Frankly, very little at this point was surprising.

What was surprising was the student offering up her arm, which Aurora actually took, strange as it was. Maybe it was just a custom, or maybe she had simply become friendly to almost anyone new, despite their small rituals or habits.

"I tend to do these tours based on what you've read or heard about. Is there anything you wanted to see in particular?"

<div align=center>To say she was relieved would have been a severe understatement, tedious things and the boredom that came with them was something she tried to avoid on a very regular basis, somehow though she was beginning to suspect that in this school monotony was not going to be a problem!

"Aurora"

She spoke the teachers name softly, in that voice as sweet and gentle as silk as though testing it before gifting the woman one of her trademarked dazzling smiles, the note about the quiet of the school though did make that brilliant smile dim a few watts as she turned to lock her eyes more fully on Aurora, enjoying the contact and the fact that the director of music was comfortable enough taking the arm of a student on her first day! Oh how she hoped all the teachers were as easy going.

"I did notice, has something happened?"

Just a short little question, after all as a new arrival she was completely unaware of the illness that had been doing the rounds of the island, messing with peoples abilities, she was completely unaware too that the very woman she was about to be led around the school by had been infected!

"But I suppose if you're the director of music we should start in your classrooms hrrm? I don't actually play any instruments myself but I have given serious thought to taking voice lessons, after that perhaps the gymnasium? I suspect I'll be spending a bit of time there"

Whatever Aurora felt like showing her though the succubus was excited to see, she had never really attended school in the past and had always wondered what it was like, now she had a chance to discover first hand, she knew that her weaker subjects were of course going to be those often considered the most basic, maths and english, but she had acquired more than her share of knowledge in her time back home. From learning how to penetrate security systems and mess with computers to displays of athletic and acrobatic skill as she slipped into places she had no right being, even to an independent study of the sciences through the internet, her education might have been more than a little patchy, but she learned fast and knew she would catch up!

"I also must admit, I'm very curious I've never met other people with abilities before, may I ask what yours are or is it considered private?"

Etiquette and a sense of privacy had never really been her strong suits, no she was a creature of passion and curiosity and the more she learned about this strange new world opening up before her the more she would be able to work with it, the more she would be able to play with it! </div>

"A couple of weeks ago before you arrived, a virus seemingly without a natural host infected many of the people on the island. It was kind of like the flu, except it made even those well in control of their abilities lose that control. I normally stand a few inches over you, but it'll be about a week before that happens again."

Sometimes the mutations that came with the disease related to the person's ability, and sometimes it didn't. In Aurora's case, it did, but in a very strange fashion. The normal resonance she carried around had actually amplified, and during the height of the bug, couldn't even be around her own house. She had had to camp out to make sure the foundations simply didn't collapse.

"The classrooms are something of a bore right now, and probably a mess. The auditorium is probably a better destination, provided no one has made that a mess as well."

The walk was short however; the auditorium was just outside the administration building, and their visit proved fruitful. The performing arts center had been spared from any sort of problems. Thankfully so, as its grand presence held firm, despite the lack of anyone taking care of it.

"If you want to take voice lessons, this is where your performances will be. And your accompaniment will be on the Steinway D-274 you see on the stage there. I'll probably have to retune it again soon."

Just as she had to do daily.

"If you wanted to meet someone with abilities, you're in the right place. It's not just the academy, but the entire island is filled with supernaturals. I'm a mage myself, but I prefer not to make a habit of divulging my exact skills unless the student has roughly the same abilities."

There was power, but more important, there was subtlety. It was the latter that had kept her safe for the most of her life, and although she would admit to being magical in more than one way, it was extremely rare that anyone saw the effects of her magic in action directly.

There were definitely rumors though.

"And how about you? Do you share the same privacy? I am not an abilities professor by any means so you need not share."

Even better was that Aurora didn't like digging through people's files unless she needed records about a full name or something.

<div align=center>"A virus?"

Naamah was a little taken aback by the information the mage had given her, the fact that this pathogen seemed to lack a natural host meant it was perhaps a contagion in magic itself, she found herself immediately curious about it, had it only affected supernatural beings with 'magical' abilities or had it also infected those whose abilities were more 'natural' in nature, she couldn't help but theorise as Aurora led her from the administration building, and if she looked at the Succubus' fine face while they strolled she would see that the newest arrival to the school was deep in thought!

As they passed into the auditorium however her attention came back to the here and now, she whistled in admiration, but a bright smile spread over her lips as she listened to the acoustics of the space, she was not a performer, but she knew how to tell whether she liked the way things sounded! Perhaps not thanks to any kind of training, but there was an instinct there that could be moulded.

"I understand why you wouldn't want people to know everything you can do, after all they might make judgements, or use it against you, but you were at least willing to tell me you were a mage so..."

She grinned then, already she had prepared a bit of a cover in case anyone needed an explanation for what she could do.

"I'm a tantric energy manipulator miss Aurora, it makes my gifts difficult for a lot of people to accept, but they're a part of me and I'll never be ashamed of them, even if they do open me up to a lot of teasing and rumors"

She could only hope that the school didn't know what she truly was, otherwise she was certainly going to be under a great deal of scrutiny so she didn't take any liberties, feeding on male students. But if Aurora and the other teachers bought her story then she could operate with a lot more freedom, she wouldn't have to concern herself with looking over her shoulder every five seconds.

But after the little revelation she offered the teacher Naamah took in the sight of the auditorium again, humming to herself and smiling at the way the soft notes floated through the air. She was even tempted to sing for heavens sake! But instead Naamah turned those dancing violet eyes on the teacher once again, offering her a little wink after that sample of her naturally sweet, if untrained voice.

"Well we should probably move on Miss Aurora before we spend all our time in this place, although I think I will definitely have to take some voice lessons, especially if there are other students with more of a choral bent"

"I'm no doctor, but the infection seemed most like a virus. But I digress. Whatever is causing the symptoms is still going around, although rates are slowing. There's no guarantee that you won't get it as well being around me, but so far, the symptoms have proved mostly non-lethal."

Frankly, non-lethal symptoms were one of the best situations that someone could hope for. In a school loaded with supernaturals, many of whom who had the raw power to sink the island or worse if not for the massive number of wards and bans...the bug had actually been rather mild as far as problems went. Of course there were issues, but not the cataclysmic ones many would expect.

"I think I garner enough respect that nobody would judge me for my abilities, nor is there a reliable counter for it. It's more a...moral choice. It's kind of like Star Trek if you've ever watched it. Prime directive of non-interference."

Although of course there was always a time to break the directive.

Naamah's explanation of her ability on the other hand might definitely surprise a few people, Aurora included to an extent. The whole 'tantric' part was a large giveaway; and strangely, the Chakravanti were also derived from several ancient Indian rituals. Needless to say, Aurora had heard about it. Teasing would be almost certain in her case unfortunately, but that didn't mean that the school didn't support her.

Quite the opposite in fact.

"I can understand your hesitance. You may want to make mention to teachers however; I'm not one for suppressing ones abilities, so it's possible you may be able to strike an arrangement for training through other methods."

Although through whatever other methods was rather questionable and up to the imagination.

Aurora beckoned out of the room, opening the door and turning towards the gym.

"Choir, band, metal groups if you're into that sort of stuff. The students are rather self-sufficient when it comes to musical needs. If you need it, we can probably find it. Come on, lets go to the gym; it might be the only time you ever find the building empty, what with fireballs, and whatever being thrown around most of the other times."

<div align=center>And now her curiosity was piqued all the more, with the promise of an intriguing infection and the indirect allusion to the nature of her teachers powers Naamah wanted nothing more than to sink her teeth into such juicy mysteries! While she was by no means a scholar, or a trained potion crafter, she was not a doctor or a healer, but she was mad enough to want to research, to play with what she didn't understand, an untracable mystic virus? If she could get her hands on it, if she could find a way to sustain it outside of a host an perhaps with much greater learning modify it to serve her goals then it could be a powerful tool!

But perhaps the easiest mystery to unravel would be the teacher. She had mentioned Star trek and unlike some of her kind who had spent the recent past in the hells, disconnected from the mortal world she had been born up here, she had seen every episode of every incarnation so far and had enjoyed them all, but that also meant she now had theories to work from, either Aurora was incredibly powerful and advanced, possessing the kind of power that could bend the entire nature of a planet to her whim, but would likely cause immense repercussions even if she touched but a fragment of her power, or she had the ability to manipulate time, perhaps dimensions! Whatever the case Naamah could feel herself almost literally salivating at the thought of what she could do if she could find some way to harness Aurora's unknown powers, or Aurora herself!

As she turned to follow the teacher however her ears perked up at the mention of fireballs! Bright violet eyes widened in surprise and she scurried after the teacher in a most uncharacteristic lack of grace, her excitement most assuredly getting to her!

"Um... Fireballs miss Aurora? I take it the gym isn't just used for Gymnastics and Basketball like it is in some schools?"

She gave a wry little smile as she tagged along behind the teacher like a faithful hound and her sparkling eyes were taking in every aspect of the school as they travelled, she wanted to try and commit everything that she could to memory now so she could avoid any embarrassing delays in reaching classes she actually intended to attend!

"Let me guess, many students have abilities that can only really be excersised through combat, so the school has facilities in the gym that lets them blow off some steam and get in some practice at controlling their abilities?"

If there was one thing that could be said about the new student, it was likely that she was as sharp as a tack.

"Does no one worry about that? I mean, we have a huge number of superpowered beings all clustered and living together, and all training in combat? Couldn't some places think of this island as an army of superhuman freaks?"

She bit her lower lip at that, a slight blush coming to her cheeks and she tried to project an apologetic look to the teacher if Aurora seemed offended by her chouice of phrase, it was not what she personally thought, but in the world outside she had seen greed, anger, fear and paranoia, she had seen many things that she wished she could simply forget, but she was concerned too, she planned to make friends here, she planned to gather allies and test herself against enemies, but if some big nation decided to just nuke the island out of existence then... Well perhaps it wasn't the safest place to be.</div>

"Don't get me wrong, we still use it for traditional sports, but since the school doesn't exactly have any sports teams to compete against other than its own, some of the students resort to more creative means of competition. Hence the fireballs. Don't ask me why...I've never exactly gotten it myself."

Aurora rubbed her head a little bit and opened the doors to the gym which thankfully was as empty as predicted. That said, the interior was not quite as well taken care of as the auditorium. Although equipment and everything was intact, it was almost like there had been signs of a battle. Walls pockmarked with scorches, small chunks of wall taken out. The normal fare really.

"When I made mention of fireballs, I thought it was a joke, but apparently someone decided to host a war game earlier."

Aurora turned to her compatriot and explained the rather important questions she was asking. The same ones had been on her mind as well when she had taken her position.

"Having a large number of supernatural beings clustered together is inherently dangerous yes, but as far as I know, we certainly don't specifically train them for combat. But societal influence from comic books and video games often drives teenagers to seek releases through controlled violence. Most people here are dangerous, but don't seek to harm anyone else. As for other places, the governments of the world are keen to keep us sated. They pay for us to find supernaturals and keep them away from their general populous. Of course we can't find everyone...but it's in good interest for them to come here; we provide a good life, and of course, we're not a prison. Everyone is free to come and go as they please. I like vacationing back to Iceland at least a couple times a year."

Aurora started to head out, not wanting to deal with well...the mess.

"There's also a third-party training facility in the city if that tickles your fancy. It's a bit high-tech for my tastes, but all the kids seem to enjoy it. Sometimes they run some less violent programs there too.
