Dalia wanted to scream.
It was only her first week back, and already things were bad. Her jacket, originally red, was stained with splashes of purple and brown from the soft drinks Argenta's group of friends had dumped on her while she was in the bathroom. The girl, Dalia thought she was a Fae of some kind, had told her, if she came to class there would be more waiting for her.

Dalia couldn't blame anyone but herself. Her first semester at school, not even a full one, had earned her a reputation as a brute and a bully. Even still, she had decided to make an effort to be better.
Back then, before the winter break, a teacher had told her that she was burning bridges. Now the spiderling knew that they had meant. She had a reputation, and no one was going to give her a chance to fix it.

Sitting alone in an empty classroom, Dalia shook with anger. She could beat these kids up. Roast them alive. Eat them whole. But not really. Not without consequences. So she was powerless, like she had assumed them to be.
Her claws tore through the fabric of her hoodie with ease, shredding the stained fabric and sending it fluttering to the floor.

Shoving a desk over onto its side didn't make her feel any better. Neither did the low growl of anger that escaped her lips. Dalia wasn't going to class today. Maybe ever again, if this kept up.
And Mal wanted her to join a club. Make more friends. Fat chance of that.

Today was frustrating for Joesph and it was his first week here. Great he thought to him self, the same thing that happened every time he went to school happened yet again. The other children were wary of him and even threw around the name creepy a couple times, this honestly wouldn't have bothered Joe if it weren't for the fact he was almost all alone a hundred percent of the time. Maybe it was the fact he carried around a crude looking jug full of blood or maybe it was the fact that he wrote down almost everything and who everyone he meet was in his note book.

His mothers words rang through out his head, "You'll be fine" and "i'm sure the other kids will love you there". The words were starting to sound hopeless to him, he was indeed in a grumpy mood."Bullshit" he muttered to him self as he walked down the empty halls. Joseph too was supposed to be in class but he was so caught up in his thoughts and reading his notebook that he had no idea where he was going. He just continued to walk until he heard noises coming from one of the class rooms and decided he would take a look inside.

The class room was empty which Joseph found weird at first, the school was so full of life it was hard to get any peace and quiet. Thats when he noticed Dalia, she was one of his only friends on the island and he had never seen her this way. Sure the other kids talked and gossiped about her being mean or scary but Joseph didn't see this. For all he knew that she was kind and really cool and honestly thought all the mean things the other kids said about her was just plain stupid.

He stood at the door way of the empty class room and watched for a while before deciding that it was time to do something. So he knocked on the side of the wall in between where the door would be."Hey.... ummm are you... uhh ok?" he said in a slightly more loud tone then his normal voice so that she could hear him.

Dalia sniffled, nearly in tears as she stared at the tattered remains of her hoodie. What was she going to do? Maybe if she could apologize. But no, Argenta was never without her friends, and they wouldn't likely let her get a word in.

A sound at the door made her jump anxiously. Had they found her? Instincts took over.and Dalia hissed a warning at the door, turning all six of her emerald eyes towards the source of the noise.
She blinked, confused. It was Joseph, really the only friend she had at this point. Dalia was suddenly embarrassed, her face flushing red as she moved to hide the scraps of her jacket.

"J-Joseph. I didn't see... hurry up and get in here, before someone sees you." Dalia's words were choked and uncertain, her voice shaking. She picked up the desk she had knocked over and stuffed her stained clothes in her backpack. But she couldn't hide the tears welling up at the corner of her eyes, or the obvious discomfort in her face.

But she still tried to put on a brave face. This was her friend, after all. So with a half-hearted smile, Dalia added. "H-hey buddy. How ya doing? Skipping class too? Total rebels, right here..."

Joseph jumped a little when she let out her hiss and put a hand on his chest. At first he though he had done something wrong and then looked down for a moment thinking and then looked back up at her. He then saw her face was that of one filled with discomfort, frustration, and sadness Joe was now filled with the desire to help poor Dalia, whatever her problem was because he absolutely hated seeing her like this. He watched her again as she hid her jacket scraps, standing still with a tiny bit of shock still left on his face.

Joe walked into the room and stood before her, his mind now filled with thoughts wondering why she was as upset as she was. But he wasn't that good at talking to people about there problems or comforting usually due to the fact that he never wanted anyone to see him as all kind and nice like his mother and rather dull and powerful. But he guess that he could drop his act, there was no one else around after all and he was comfortable around Dalia. He was also sort of eager to see if what his mother taught him about being kind and loving to others.

He put both of his hands on Dalia's shoulders and looked her straight in her eyes before he spoke."..... Just drop it, we both know your not feeling well........ and perhaps.... i can help you. Now....... come here" the last part was hard for Joe to say. He then proceeded to hug her and he was shaking a little bit, he had never done something like this for anyone besides his mother and it felt weird and a little bit nice."Just....... let it all out.....".

Dalia had no idea how to react to the unexpected hug from her friend. So she froze, her muscles stiffening at the sudden contact.
She looked around awkwardly before slowly slipping her arms around Joseph as well, returning the hug. It was a simple thing, really. But it was oddly comforting. Dalia wouldn't cry though. She would hold onto that much dignity at least.

"It's nothing, really. Just some girls in my class, being jerks. Nothing I can't handle. I just needed some air, away from their stupid faces."
Despite the mantra of don't cry she kept repeating to herself in her head, Dalia's eyes weren't responding. The tears fell sparsely, but they still fell.

"Ah hell."
Dalia squeezed Joseph tighter. She didn't want anyone to see her like this. Weak. It wasn't even that big of a deal. As many clothes as they could ruin, she could make twice that many. So why did it bother her so much?

His breathing got more slow as got more comfortable with the whole situation and he took a moment to think about what he was to say next. When he had heard about the other girls that were being jerks to Dalia he was pretty ticked off. His mother said spite and hate would get him nowhere but he though a little bit of everything was fine, so long as he wasn't obsessed. His head was filled now with new thoughts, sure he would use some of his mother teachings but this was his friend and he would do it his own way.

"Hmm..... well your a spider demon correct..... now i don't know who they are but assuming they have a normal life span one day they will be dead...... and you will still be here living your life knowing that they are. Probably doing much more great things....." he said and then did a little evil grin. He also knew this would probably mean he would probably be dead by that time too but he didn't think she would point that out. After all little Joseph though about serval ways to prolong his life now knowing about the supernatural, the main way being letting some vampire bite him.

"If you want we could...... umm talk about other things? maybe that would take you mind off stuff........ and..... uhh you don't have to let go of me either.... if you don't want to let go that is...." he nervously chuckled, despite everything he didn't really want her to let go, he hadn't felt affection like this in sometime.

Dalia had involuntarily started to sniffle a little bit as she cried. His attempt to cheer her up wasn't very solid, but it made her laugh regardless. She would outlive most of her tormentors, after all. And the ones she didn't, well they couldn't bother her once she graduated. Dalia buried her face into Joseph's shoulder to muffle the sound.
"You dweeb. That's kind of funny though. Thanks."

Dalia didn't really need any further invitation. She wrapped her arms all the way around Joseph and hugged him tighter, being mindful of her claws. It wasn't often she felt she could open up and just be emotional in front of someone. Show weakness. It was really liberating.
Back outside with other people, she would never admit to this, and especially never admit to enjoying this. She pondered his question, the offer to change the subject. That would be nice, but she had no idea of what to talk about. The thing at the forefront of her mind was Argenta and the torement that she was putting Dalia through.

"What do you want to talk about? Or we could find something to do. I dunno...

Joseph patted Dalia's back a few times, he felt very mixed about this whole thing, it was really weird to him. He was upset that Dalia was getting picked on and didn't like having one of his only friends feeling so bad. But on the other hand the hug was really nice and he was happy that he was at least helping the little that he could."Yea..... i'm not really good at all this.... feelings stuff.... but i try" he said and did a little shrug. Though he felt good about him self in that moment, he was doing a good deed and enjoying it too, maybe helping others wasn't so bad and awkward as he though.

Joe too was a little wary of others finding him like this, though he didn't like the other children calling him creepy but it wasn't all negative since no one would pick on him and the other children were usually afraid of him. He sort of like this feeling, it made him feel powerful that no one messed with him even though he didn't try to look tough half of the time."This school is not filled with..... buddy buddy type of people. Could care less about them..... i got you after all..... and your great".

He though for a moment of what to talk about and decided on talking about their lives if she agreed to this topic of course."We could talk about all our experiences and stuff..... a life story.... if thats how they say it, if you want".
