Private Finished The Break Room Incident

Kalvin was surprised that Zora asked. He might've been wrong to assume that Zoraida and her grandfather double-checked and learned about the employees they hired. "I do weight manipulation," he said easily. "Or rather, I can control my weight. My body can become light as a feather or heavy as a boulder.

"And, I guess the upside to that is I'm also durable and stronger than your average Joe. However, I guess 'average Joe' here in Manta Carlos doesn't have much meaning when I say it like that," he added as they turned the corner going back to the DB Holdings building. "Well, it's not much. Oh, and I can do superjumps too."

"That's true," Kalvin said. He laughed a little at how she referenced his abilities. "In a way, you can call it that. Though, I'm thinking I should probably start referring to it differently. Because, when you think about it, I'm not so much as controlling my weight but rather how gravity affects me. And I've always wondered, what will happen to my powers if I went to space? Will I be able to move my weight a specific way or will it become void completely because of the lack of gravity?"

They entered the building with Kalvin still speaking enthusiastically about his thoughts on his powers. When they reached the elevator, he quieted and bashfully scratched the back of his neck. "Oh, shit. I mean, oh jeez. I'm sorry, Miss Zora, I was rambling. I don't really talk this much, or at all," he said, recalling how he always wanted to seem proper in front of Rafael. "I guess all my recent theorizing has gotten to that point."

"That's good to know. To be honest, I only recently began to think about it when I saw this documentary on space," Kalvin said, a shy smile still painted upon his face. "I've had these powers for so many years, but I've only begun to study them recently. A few weeks ago, I joined a group in the academy where I could test the limits of my abilities."

There was a chime and the doors opened. He and Zora made their way back into the break room to restock on the pastries. "Let me bring this over to Rafael's desk," he said, taking the cinnamon drink. He checked his boss's office. Coast was clear. Rafael said he had a meeting and he was most likely still in it. Kalvin placed it on the desk. He added a note on top of it that said, 'thought you might want to detour from the usual'.

After that, he went right back to see if Zoraida was done in the break room or if he could help her out.

Kalvin felt a little disappointed at the news, too. However, he simply shrugged it off and smiled at Zora. "No, that's fine. We can be just as effective online in coffee maker hunting," he said. "Your meeting is more important, and we brought back pastries. It'll hopefully keep the coffee-deprived masses at bay for now."

He went to his desk to take his cup of coffee with him to where they were going to sit and shop. "I'm sure we can eliminate a ton of options we don't want in a half-hour," he added, pulling out his phone and opening up a shopping site.

"Okay. Let's check different sites so we cover more ground. Let me just do a general Google search..." Kalvin typed in 'coffee maker' on his browser. Their search continued. The two of them showed possible models to each other, adding comments back and forth on the pros and cons of each option.

It wasn't long before it was time for Zoraida to go. As expected, a half-hour wasn't enough time for them to find the kind of coffee maker that Rafael had in mind. Kalvin promised he'd check out some other options for a little while longer before he too went back to his desk. They at least eliminated a ton of no-gos.
