“Oh yeah, I get it,” The black haired guy nodded and seemed to be understanding of everything he had just explained. “Yeah man, I didn’t think they could. Though when I was younger I thought that they had as complex thoughts as us humans do but we just couldn’t understand them. Imagine if that had been true.”

[color=BA0009]“I think I’d like it better that way,”[/color] Gareth muttered instantly, his thoughts pouring from his mouth before he could think better of it. His gaze remained narrowed and he glanced off toward the side. Being gifted with the ability to speak to ‘nature’ wasn’t all that great, at least not for him.
<p>
Both of his ‘magical powers’ were infuriatingly inconvenient and there wasn’t a day that went by that he wished he hadn’t been born with them.

"Mmm, yeah? " Gabe answered, not really sure how to continue this conversation. All this talk wasn't really going anywhere and Gabriel could feel his attention starting to drift elsewhere. His eyes were darting around the courtyard, not stopping to focus on any one thing for too long.

"So I never found out your name....?" Gabe changed the topic suddenly, turning to face the other man. In fact he didn't know any information about this guy at all apart from that he could hear animal's thought patterns, and that he seemed to have a bit of a temper to put it mildly.

'Introductions were never really given,' the other man was right about that, neither of them had really mentioned who they were. Gabe had kind of just started talking to the man without any sort of warning. He tended to do that a lot, he had an awful habit of rushing into things without thinking. This situation hadn't turned out too badly, luckily.


" Gareth, " Gabe repeated with a little nod. "I'm Gabriel, he answered, "though you should probably call me Gabe. " Very few people actually called him Gabriel unless they were mad with him, or feeling other sorts of extreme emotions around him.

"New here?" Gabe asked, with a tilt of his head. He hadn't heard of the boy before, let alone seen him around. But it was a big school, so that could have happened regardless.

The dark haired guy introduced himself as Gabriel and went on to tell him to call him Gabe. Gabe? He'd probably forget the guys name all together let alone his nickname. Hell, he'd probably never run into him again—the school apparently housed high school and college all in one. There were so many different students walking around here it was just bloody damn ridiculous.

When Gareth asked him if it was obvious that he was new, Gabe nodded. Perhaps the more polite thing to do would have been to tell a white lie, but Gabe wasn't very good at those. He always felt the need to tell it like it is.

"Yeah, I mean dude sitting on his own, looking a little bewildered and lost? Usually means he's new." Gabe paused, "or high. But I doubt you're high. " Then again Gareth had just been yelling at some animals, now Gabe was aware that that was because of his powers so it made sense.

"You don't stick out too much, you just look lost. " Gabe shrugged. Then he realised that perhaps the boy was lost. " Are you?"

"Alright, alright. No need to snap, dude. " Gabe answered, raising his hands in front of him in mock defeat. "I was just asking. " He had picked up on the fact that Gareth was irritated, although he didn't associate it with his own actions. He wasn't really very good at filtering his thoughts, and that was what ended up getting him into a lot of trouble with people.

Gabe was beginning to feel like it might be time for him to leave before he irritated the other boy even further. "Well if you don't need any help then I guess I'll be off. " Gabe told Gareth, "I might see you around sometime?"
