Tez Gann is reasonably tall, about 6'2, with a reasonably thin, wiry build. His torso and arms are covered in what appears to be tattoos, but are in actually part of his skin, and only grew darker the more he used his powers, the more they appeared on his skin, to the point where they currently look like tattoos. All of the images are in an aztec style. His fingernails are black and made of black obsidian as are his teeth, the incisors of which are about twice the length of a normal humans, similar to a jaguar's. His eyes are a solid, brilliant white, without pupil or iris. He has tausled brown hair, which more often than not will have some black and yellow feathers poking out of it, his avatar form attempting to poke through into his normal appearance. In moments of heightened emotion, black and yellow bands will appear across his face, running horizonally, and he will sometimes slip into his avatar form. Below the thigh, his legs are digitigrate and appear to be made of obsidian, reflective black stone, but can move as if they were normal flesh. He usually wears some form of short sleeved tshirt, and skinny jeans, the calves of which often end up ripped due to his obsidian legs.
Personality Description:
Tez is kinda a burnout. He always wanted to go back into the real world, but as he sometimes slips into his alternate form, thats not really possible. He finished high school, and since then has done barwork. The best way to describe him would be tired. He's sarcastic and sardonic, and doesn't have much patience (although he has learnt some by working on bars). Despite this, he is very caring and loving, and generally a happy person, although strangely, Tez has inherited some aspects of Tezcatlipoca's personality. He is quite caring, especially to hopeless cases and orphans, and dislikes the idea of people being 'trapped'.

Aztec Avatar - as an avatar of a god, the walking image, he is hardier than most humans and if he dies, he will be reborn at Tezcatlipoca's temple in mexico. He is also immune to disease.

Tezcatlipoca doesn't talk to Tez, and they have no mental conection, but Tez has gained some of powers as an avatar of the god. Tezcatlipoca is an Aztec god, one of the two central gods of Nahuatl, or more commonly known as Aztec, religion. He is one of the central figures, opposing the feathered serpent, Quetzalcoatl. Both often ruled over opposing realms, with Tezcatlipoca ruling over some of the darker realms, both human and otherwise, as well as several natural realms. Whilst he had multiple forms specifically embodying these realms, Tez has ended up with them all kind of forced into one being. Humanwise, Tezcatlipoca ruled over conflict, sorcery and divination, and those who practiced them. In terms of the natural world, he ruled over Jaguars and turkeys, 'bad winds' (such as the wind at night, and natural phenomenon such as hurricanes), the night sky, sickness and disease (and the healing of such), and obsidian, which many Aztecs viewed as a method of divining images in it's smoky reflection. Tez is made stronger in the presence of those actively using 'dark' magic, at night (and generally in very dark places), and around those who are sick. in terms of strength, he is more aware, slightly faster and in general 'ready for combat', like someone had given him a shot of adrenaline, and immune to disease. Because of this, Tez is very much a night owl, and struggles to sleep at night. One of the strange side effects, due to Tezcatlipoca's rivalry with Quezalcoatl, he is more on edge and more likely to acidentally shift around beings that resembled the feathered serpent: snake-like beings such as the lamia and dragons. Due to strange interactions between magic and his body, if Tez uses a glamour in his humanoid form, he will be uncomfortable while wearing it. after a period of twenty four to forty eight hours hours after he removes the glamour, he will become ill. Not enough to take him out of the game, just enough to make him vomit and feverish for the duration of the time he wore the glamour (if he wore the glamour for two hours, he will be sick for two hours ect.).

Tezcatlipoca form - In his Tezcatlipoca form, Tez resembles a slightly humanoid looking jaguar (similar to how people draw werewolves, but he still walks on all fours), covered in feathers, pointing backwards. These feathers are yellow and black feathers, giving him the appearance of a normal jaguar, but with feathers instead of fur (a feather can be both black and yellow).These feathers cover everywhere except the paws and the muzzle forward of the ears, which look like a regular jaguar. His eyes are a pure white, with no pupil or iris. There is also a circular section on the upper under belly (like where the lungs would be on a human) which isn't black and yellow, and is the colour of abalone shell. The jaguar's teeth and claws are made of sharp black obsidian. In this form, with a decent run up, he can leap rather far, and often runs on all fours. His legs are still the same black obsidian digitigrade material as in his human form, and barely change as, in his human form, his legs are a jaguar's hind legs anyway. In this form, he can roar like a jaguar, a roar than can cause fear in those around him. This roar sounds half jaguar, half thunderclap.This form is not an absolute, and he can slip in and out of it as kind of a sliding scale. He can control it enough to be able to change his hands just enough to use his fingernail as a boxcutter or bottle opener.
Smoked Mirror - Tez can turn living objects, such as an apple, into obsidian, but he cannot turn people or animals into obsidian. He can now turn his entire body into obsidian, the same as his legs. He can also turn objects he has turned into obsidian back into their original material, and can do the same to his body, except for his legs. This obsidian made of his body can attach to any other object made of obsidian, and be detached at will. However this obsidian will only retain it's magical divining properties for around five minutes, but can stick to his body obsidian and be turned back to normal at any time. This obsidian has magical properties and can be used to divine the future, the present and the past, although it will always be the worst possible future of any given number, but as for the past while it will be painted in a negative light, is always true. The present displays things at they actually are, the creature behind the shapeshift or glamour. For example, if you viewed Tes either through or reflected in the obsidian, he would appear in his Tezcatlipoca form. This obsidian smokes as it if was made of dry ice.
Strife, Discord and Temptation aura - Tez has an aura that causes people to make bad decisions, puts people on edge. Its not so much starting arguments, but his presence makes things a little more tense. Arguments people are keeping quiet will come to the surface. People tend to be tempted around him, to do that little thing the voice in their head tells them to do ("go gorge yourself at the buffet" or "Push that red button" or "Go and talk to that beautiful person on the dancefloor"), and people are more likely to do what is in their nature. In a sense, being around Tez, especially when he's agitated, means people are more likely to speak their mind.
God of sorcery - Tez can do a little bit of magic, such as summoning small flames to his fingertips and holding up small objects using air. He has a natural talent for magic, being the avatar of a god of dark magic, but he never really put much time into learning anything that wouldn't prove useful, so his skills are quite limited. He can summon small flames, enough to light a cigarette or a flaming sambuca, and he can stop himself dropping small objects like glasses or a phone using a cushion of air. He can also condense water out of the air enough to drink. Nothing particularly intresting, just useful.

Tez is the son of renowned archeologist Tamsin Gann, who specialised in central american archaeology, and more specifically Aztec archeology. She was working on recording the carvings in a new chamber in Tenochtitlan, specifically in the temple of Tezcatlipoca. She had been working in a chamber that was filled with liquid mercury, and had been using a respirator. Upon reaching the far side of the chamber, she found something on the floor
An abalone shell. She bent down to pick it up.
All was black.
The next thing she knew, she awoke in the chamber atop the temple. Nine months later, Tes was born. For some reason, maybe post partum delerium, maybe the hand of fate at work, Tamsin named her son after the god Tezcatlipoca. Initially she assumed he was the son of an american archeologist with whom Tamsin had a brief fling. After a paternity test, it was proved that the american wasn't the father.
As Tamsin traveled the world, while still wishing to give Tez a stable childhood, she sent him away to a boarding school in Tamsin's home country, england. His childhood here was normal, until the age of ten, when during a fight, he accidentally shifted into his Tezcatlipoca form, and attacked someone who was bullying him, putting the boy in hospital. While the teachers merely chalked this up to children exaggerating to make a story exciting, the teachers still noted it down and the scouts found him, and explained to his mother why he had to be moved to the island. After this incident, the tattoos started appearing on his body, and he started randomly finding feathers.
On the island he had a relatively normal school life, but he was diagnosed with ADHD, and also had to attend special classes in order to control his Tezcatlipoca form. In high school he mainly studied history, general magic, history of magic and philosophy.
After graduation, he found work in bars, and eventually ended up working as a barman at Club Orpheous working for Gwyn Drakenhardt. He makes damn good cocktails.
