Jen was in one of the towers, reading by candlelight. She had dusted off one of the many armchairs. She wasn't really expecting anyone to come, then again, how many people would climb all those stairs just to stare out into a dark night. The night was one with a moon. Hence why she had so many candles out. What she failed to notice was the very light sound of someone ascending the wooden spiral staircase that led up to her.

Caedo walked up the stairs, towards the candlight. He wasn't sure why, but it seemed that there might be something he could do up here. Something fun. Perhaps he would even get the chance to play a little trick on someone, but it was unlikely he would try anything too big. After all, he wasn't as confident without his sword, since Marine had broken it. He was already planning his revenge on that account; his interaction with Jen was just a side-thing to keep him amused. Worst come to worst, if there was nobody up here, he could practise.

As he came to the top of the stairs, an evil smirk appeared on his face. He knew who it was read by candlight. He pulled the sheet off a nearby armchair, sending a great cloud of dust into the air, and 'fell' into the seat. He smiled over at Jen when the cloud had settled. "Hi."

Jen looked up, dust blocking her surprised view for a few moments. She relaxed a bit when she saw it was Caedo. "Hi, Caedo!" she said, a smile on her face. She looked back down to her book, starting to read again. Her locket, unknown to her that Caedo had seen it yesterday, was safely hidden out of sight. The thin metal chain was in view, though.
But just barely.
