The other girl's comment made Jolin smile. It was nice to know she'd have someone to share the night sky with.

"Where would I find you though? Wouldn't you normally be in your dorm this late?"

She looked at her hair for a moment.

"Well, it's black naturally. But part of my powers is changing the physical appearance of things, so sometimes when I'm not paying attention it will change on me to reflect how I'm feeling. It's hard to say you're not sad when your hair and eyes suddenly turn blue or grey..."

She looked over at the boy once again. More to herself than the other girl, she said;
"I wonder why he doesn't talk..."

Ember at her dorm? Hardly. "Rarely." She said to the girl. "I'm always wandering around the school through every hour of every day. I sort of do it unconciously, but i don't care." She smiled at Jolin. "Well what about you, huh? What are you doing out this late?"

Ember looked Jolin to her hair then back to Jolin. "So you have the power to change the physical appearence of anything? That's wicked cool! But your hair changes with your mood, that would kind of stink, don't you think? Then everyone would know how you're feeling when you don't want them to know."

Ember sighed, "Well at least your power isn't as common as being a pyromaniac, like me." She conjured up a small fireball, no bigger than a marble, and flicked it inot the sky. Red-orange ball of flames went up and up until it slowly disintigrated into nothing but a line of smoke which, as the flame, disappeared.

Ember too looked at the boy,and sighed in defeat. "I wish I knew..."

Jolin took a deep breath. It was actually rare for her to be up this late, let alone wide awake.

"Well to be honest today was my first day here, and there was a lot that happened. I'm just thinking about everything and relaxing. After days like today I like to just let stuff sink in, you know?"

Jolin shook her head. "Not anything exactly, just living things, and stuff like eggs and fruit that came from living things."

A pigeon landed on the railing, and Jolin looked at it, changing its color from blue to yellow to hot pink and then back to it's normal color.

Jolin smiled as the girl demonstrated her powers.

"Well, your power may be more common but it's a lot better for defending yourself, let me tell you. Although... hey, I just got an idea! I've never tried anything like that before..."

By the time Jolin was finished talking she was talking more to herself than the girl. Jolin looked at her arm, and smiled as it started to bulge and turn into a large mallet shape. It turned back to normal and she smiled more widely.
"Okay, I have to admit that was cool..."

Jolin looked back over at the boy, and although she wanted to something she decided it was best not to.

Ember nodded in repsonse as Jolin spoke. "Yeah i get what you're saying. I do the same thing. It's good to just relax, and forget about all the troubles in the world."

"Oh, so you can't like change a lamp or something that is non-living like glass or plastic?" Ember asked, still a little unsure about what exactly Jolin could do with her power.

Ember laughed and awed as the girl changed the color of the recenlty arrived pigeon from blue to yellow to pink and then back to normal. "I think it looked quite good in pink, don't you?" She said with a laugh.

Ember shrugged, unable to argue there, but when Jolin tried something new, Ember was very impressed. "See, you can use your powers to make your hand into a ax or mallet like you just did. That is very cool."

Ember notcied the girl return a look to the boy. "Should we just let him be? Or should we approach him?"

Tsim merely looked down noticing a few birds fly by not really paying attention to them as much as he was to his thoughts now...he only sighed silently before resting his head in his arms on the railing just leaning on it and watching small families go by...

Jolin nodded at Ember's comment about relaxation and peace, then shook her head about the question about the lamp.

"Nope, not a lamp or anything." She sometimes wished she could though, it would make her powers much more useful.

She smiled at Ember's comment about the pigeon.

"Yes, it did look pretty good in pink. Grey's such a dull color."

She thought for a moment about the boy. She wanted to approach him, but wasn't sure if he wanted to be bothered.

"Well, I guess we could try to talk to him right? And if he wants to be left alone we can just come back here."

Tsim didn't even look in their direction just off into the vast area before him...not knowing why but feeling very relaxed...he knew he still wouldent talk so if they felt like talking to him then they could and he would reply the best way he could.

Ember smiled when Jolin agrred about the pigeon. "I know, it's very boring," The girl sighed and looked out at the stars for a moment, getting lost in its beauty.

Jolin commented that they could approach him, and if he didn't want to be disturbed, they could just return. Ember liked that idea, so she stood up and said, "Okay then, let's go" and headed towards Tsim.

Jolin nodded at Ember. She walked over to the boy and stood beside him, being careful not to get too close, and she just stared out at the stars and the world below for a moment so it did not seem like she was over-eager to talk to the boy.

"It's very beautiful, isn't it." She said, not making it a direct question, but also leaving it open for him to respond.

Ember followed behind Jolin and stood next to the boy, giving good distance, on the other side of him.

After Jolin had mentioned what a beautiful night it was, Ember decided to introduce herself. "Hi, I'm Ember."
