Desperate times called for desperate measures. Already, Jericho had been enrolled for several months at the academy. And even though he was a frequent party goer, he really hadn't applied his outgoing attitude towards much that mattered. Basically, the boy only had a handful of friends. Being as though he was a firm believer that there was never such a thing as too many, he of course would go out of his way to make more. By any means necessary.

So with the people he did know, he was randomly hooked up with someone who knew a guy who knew a guy. They had set up a meeting place, time and person to hit things off with in terms of friendship. Maybe just that, maybe more. Either way, Jericho didn't care much about whoever sat at the table across from him. He just wanted to seize this strange opportunity while he could and hopefully get something out of it. Having a new bestie in a place like this would be more than great.

Naturally then Jericho had prepped himself just right for the occasion. While the Italian-oriented restaurant around him was mid-upscale, he didn't want to go too strict with it all. wasn't like he was going to marry this person, right? So he settled for a blazer and jeans, but at least he'd shaved. And his rusty-colored hair was done. That too.

Pulling out a phone from his pocket, he checked the time. 5:30. His 'date' should be here soon. His recently-preened wings did take up a lot of space behind him, but luckily he had tucked them away enough to fit on his side of the booth. His fingers drummed on the table as he breathed out slowly. This would all be fine. No need to be a Negative Nancy here, worrying about if this person would hate him right off the bat or not. He'd do his best to impress, and that was all that mattered, right? Besides, he was sure the other was just as nervous. Whatever would come out of the night would be a learning experience. Good or bad, fate was to eventually tell.

"Alright, there he is!" Dorito walked with an arm around Cheeto's shoulders, almost dragging her towards the restaurant. "B-But why do I have to go on it? This is more a 'you' sorta thing..." Cheeto's hair had been mercilessly shampooed and combed, her bangs tamed and now partially obscuring one eye opposed to the wilting mess they were before. She wore a black tank top with a dark green knee length skirt, quite far from her usual baggy pants and big shirt. "Because, Cheets, I told you I was going to help you meet more people and try to find you some more guy friends." As they moved in front of the restaurant, Dorito took one last chance to look over her sister. She had done all she could to gussy the girl up for her date, and she'd be nearby, it was up to Cheeto now. "I... I'm quite happy with the guy friends I have now!" Even now Cheeto protested, Dorito leaned in and crossed her arms as she teased. "Oh, I bet you do 'Chee'..." Cheeto turned a bit red as Dorito moved her to the door of the restaurant. "You have his name, he's the one with wings, go in there and make a friend!" Dorito shoved Cheeto through the door with one final push.

Inside the restaurant, the ambiance was quiet but relaxed. A waiter walked up to Cheeto and looked down at the diminutive girl. Though she was nineteen, she was still only a little over three feet tall. Her beady goblin eyes stared up at the man. "I... uh... there's a... um... winged man expecting me." The waiter looked at Cheeto for a few seconds, then picked up two menus and let her over to Jericho's table. As she approached she almost tripped up as she stared at the guy for a few seconds. Definite stud. Well maintained and handsome, and those huge, elegant wings... Cheeto gulped loudly and sat down in the chair across from him. "H-Hi, sorry I'm a bit late." Her voice came out as a soft, nervous rasp as she shifted in her chair. It almost looked like she'd need a booster seat as she nervously looked across the table at Jericho.

Another check to his phone. He wasn't being impatient or nervous, but with each passing minute the more he fretted they wouldn't come. Hopefully this guy didn't charge people for taking up space. It would be a shame if he got stood up and charged.

But before he could get to this certain worry, he heard a fragment of the last bit of a debate and a swing of the front door. Soon enough, he overheard the request for a winged man. Well, no one else here fit that criteria. Instantly he looked for the source of the request, expecting another human-like companion. Naturally then was he surprised to find his mystery 'date' was not that, but... A troll-ish looking thing. Or, was it a goblin? He wasn't very good with his species. But figuring it would be rude to ask and equally rude to stare, he'd push it all aside to smile brightly. Who was he to judge, anyway?

"Ah, no it's cool. You're just in time actually." It was he who was the one that was ridiculously early. On any case the poor girl looked nervous. Jericho folded his wings in a bit more, hoping that the fact that he was a lot bigger than her didn't contribute to that anxiety. "So, you must be.." Shit. What did the guys tell him what her name was? Quickly and casually he looked in his lap to glance at a crumpled up post-it note that had her name on it. So she was named after a snack chip. Gah, now he was really hungry. "Cheeto! Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm Jericho, in case ya didn't know." He greeted pleasantly after his brief pause, not sure just how blind their little meet-up was. "So Cheeto, tell me about yourself a little bit. I'm still sorta new to this island, so I just wanted to get to know as many people as possible. Never hurts to make a friend, y'know?" He hoped she agreed. She looked a little shy to him, and though this was of course no problem, he didn't want her to feel totally uncomfortable. After all, this was supposed to be for the good of both of them.

It was easy to feel reassured by Jericho's introduction, but Cheeto found herself feeling a little intimidated as well. As he gave his introduction she almost repeated his name, catching herself before she could come off as creepy. "Y-Yeah, you too..." Fucking smooth, Cheeto... She shifted a little in her seat. He was talking. Cheeto almost missed the words at first, somewhere between worrying about how she was acting and just listening to his voice. Oh, he was asking about her, and about making new friends. She thought for a bit, making a small 'ummm' before speaking. "W-Well I tend to keep to myself mostly, I mean... I tend to focus on my classes up at Starlight, and I do..." She trailed off.

Cheeto was an avid gamer, collector of comics, miniature figurines and models, and insatiable bookworm. While her sister was quick to dive into the social end of human society, Cheeto was enthralled by culture and history, especially geek culture. "Uhh how about you? I mean, You, uhh..." Cheeto's big emerald peepers quickly roamed over Jericho's body, taking in his face, his eyes, his jawline, his toned body... "Do you do sports?" She gave a small grin, trying to hide how much she was struggling with this.

The more he realized it, the more the Nephilim felt sort of bad for the girl. Though she seemed to be one for solitude, he felt she may have honestly needed a good group of people to at least have for friends. Wouldn't hurt, right? She said she was more concerned with her education, whereas Jericho was almost the exact opposite. Sure, school was important. But parties and ladies and gentleman were all better. Still he respected that opinion, and leaned back casually with a nod, after she explained herself a little bit.

"Gotcha. Cool." He confirmed, smiling. Upon her question, Jericho shook his head with a bit of a chuckle. "Nah. At least not competitively anyway. I just run and lift a bit. And fly. Sports just aren't really for me." He was a built guy considering, but he didn't want to but that to the test. He went at his own pace, followed his own path. "Music is more of my forte. I play guitar a lot." Soon though he figured he'd shifted too much attention on himself. He looked back to the goblin, leaning in a bit as he rested his elbows on the table. "So, uh... How'd you get into this thing? You know, the blind meet up." He asked. Clearly as she was so shy it really wasn't her decision, or so he thought. So who's was it? "Not that I really mind your answer. Just curious is all."

Cheeto's smile grew a little bigger and seemed a little less nervous. She was warming up to Jericho a bit, and it was starting to show. Maybe it was how laid back he seemed, or his interest in music. Her voice came out as a sandy rasp but she didn't stutter like before. "My sister, she's interested in getting me out of my room and trying to get me to meet guys." Cheeto seemed to hunch a bit as she spoke, crossing her arms under her diminutive bosom and pouting. "Just 'cuz I'm not some big social butterfly like her..." She shifted a bit and gave a worried look up to Jericho, hands suddenly on the table as she hastily interrupted herself. "N-N-Not that I don't mind being here, with you, at this time! Hahahaha." She laughed nervously, quite embarrassed and worrying that she had offended Jericho.

Dorito, on the other hand, pursed her lips. She had remained nearby and was listening in through her bond with Cheeto. Things seemed to be going decently enough, no one had died yet, but they were not progressing fast enough. She'd need to act in order to save Cheeto from herself, and Dorito had a pretty good idea on how to do it. It was for Cheeto's own good, after all. Dorito quickly entered the restaurant and caught a waiter's attention. With a few quick words and a brief use of her power, Dorito had gotten a table near Cheeto and Jericho, allowing her to see Jericho but keeping herself tucked out of view from the unsuspecting couple. From there she'd watch and wait.

She seemed to be a bit more relaxed, which was good. He had encountered people on the shy side of the spectrum before, and rarely did he meet success in easing them out of their shell. Cheeto on the other hand may be someone he could help in this respect. He liked to think he was easy going and approachable, whether or not this was truly the case. With a mention of a sister, Jericho smirked a bit and leaned in with his elbows on the table. ”Oh, does she now?” He asked with a chuckle, looking on with interest. She seemed to be a direct contrast to this supposed sister, which he supposed was common in siblings. It was almost like she was perhaps playing matchmaker too. Well, then… ”There’s nothing wrong with not being very social. I used to not be, but that was mainly because I used to live among humans and had to hide what I was… But I’m different now. It’s all a comfort thing, so don’t feel like you have to be pressed one way or another.” Jericho assured almost gently before taking a swig of his water on the table.

”Just don’t be nervous. We’re here to try and become friends, right?”

"Yeah, she's so overbearing, you have no idea." Cheeto seemed to open up a bit, frowning as she seemed to pout and turn away slightly. "She really thinks she can get me a boyfriend with dates... Can you believe it?" She looked almost ready to laugh but then froze, realizing what she had let slip before once again giving a large, awkward grin. However it seemed as though Jericho's words had put Cheeto a bit more at ease. "Y-Yeah, we are." Cheeto's smile seemed a little less nervous as she leaned back in her seat, looking up at Jericho with almost admiration. Jericho was right, She was here to make friends and it'd be hard to get a better friend than Jericho.

Dorito leaned on the table, her head resting in her hands as she spied in on the couple. This wouldn't do at all. Just friends? If this was going to work she'd need to put some ideas in Jericho's head asap. As it always did, Dorito's power first manifested as a whisper, almost sounding like Jericho's own thoughts. She is kinda cute though... Dorito whispered the thoughts into Jericho's mind, ...Like a goofy little teddy bear. It wasn't much but it was a start, and she had the entirety of their little play date to turn it into a real date.

Jericho chuckled genuinely, upon being told about overbearing siblings. "Ah, trust me, I know the feeling. I had a younger one. Can't imagine though having a matchmaker like that." In fact, his sister was quite the opposite. Every time he tried to bring home a girl his sister would do everything she could to ruin it for him. Which was a lot. He smirked at the memory. Looking back at the goblin, and upon her comment on her chances he shook his head. "Well, I wouldn't say that..." He leaned on one elbow. "You could certainly get a guy if you wanted. Without your sister's help." Was what he said true? Well, honestly he believed it was. She had to be someone's type, like everyone else in this world. There was a person for everyone he believed, no matter what.

"You're nice. I think I like you. Now-" Suddenly his voice cut itself off, as something disturbed the back of his mind. Now, if he were a normal person, he wouldn't have felt a thing. But there seemed to be a slight 'itch' of sorts due to him being a psychic himself. Formerly an empath, the now psychokinetic teen had vague premonitions about that sort of energy. But he had no idea what it was, or what was going on. All he could think was hey, she is kind of cute...

Blinking for a moment Jericho was silent for a good few seconds. He snapped back into it though, and ran a hand through his styled rusted-copper hair. "Ah, sorry about that. Were you saying something?" He couldn't remember if she did or not. But as his scatterbrain eased, he piped up once more. "Oh! Well uh, I hope to meet your sister some day. She sounds like a fun girl."

Cheeto seemed to become flustered, starting to blush at Jericho's words. "W-Wait..." She seemed to be stuttering again, giving a nervous look up to Jericho. "Y-You saying that you think I have a chance of getting someone... like you?" She squirmed a bit in her seat, her voice seeming hopeful as she gave that shy, awkward smile again. However the topic change to her sister seemed to shut Cheeto down as she leaned back and rolled her eyes. "She's... an odd one. I mean, Dorito likes to hit up a lot of the parties around the school and tends to be better around people than me... You might have met her actually, she gets around a lot." Cheeto still seemed a bit shaken up, but talking about her sister kept her mind off that strangely awkward tangent she had stumbled upon before.

Dorito couldn't tell 100% if her power was working or disrupted, all she could do was send out her signals. She grinned a bit though and decided to slip a few more thoughts in. D'aww, she likes me! Still using her power to whisper to Jericho in his own inner monologue, Dorito covered her mouth to keep herself from giggling as she continued. She is quite adorable, might be fun to cuddle up to her after a movie... She let the mental image play out as well, slipping the idea of snuggling with Cheeto in a movie theater creep into Jericho's mind as well. It was insidious in its innocence as Dorito flagged over a waiter and ordered herself some rigatoni.
