TAG

<.>
TAG | 29 | SEPTEMBER 14 | MALE | YETI
STAFF | P.E./SUBSTITUTE | PRIMARY
appearance
An 10'1 foot yeti is might not the first thing that comes to mind for a elementary school teacher, but that's Tag. But since his glamor is rarely ever lifted, he appears as a scruffy asian man. As a human he stands at 6'11 feet with a build that's somewhere between athletic to husky.

He has typical features for someone of Nepali origin. His skin is naturally tanned, dark eyes, and a nose that lies close to his face with a slight hook. He has a strong jaw matches the rest of his build, and his lower canines poke out when he smiles even when they're retracted. For awhile he had a beard, without it he still looks his age, but can pass as a few years younger.

Tag sticks to loose, simple styles with lots of layers, similar to the stuff he wore back in the mountains. As long as it's loose fitting, his taste isn't really specific, he'll wear anything from more traditional garb to graphic tees depending on the occasion, but has an affinity for bandanas.

As a yeti, Tag stands at 10'1 feet. There's a vague resemblance of his human form in his face, but beyond that it's hard to tell that it's actually Tag. He is completely covered in white fur with a few calloused openings for his face, hands, and feet. Two large antlers poke out of his head, his two lower canines almost reach his nose, his eyes are dark and sunken, in other words, terrifying.

And then there's the awkward in between phase. Going in and out of his two forms takes a toll on Tag's body, and it's visible. Right before and several hours after he shifts, Tag's dark hair turns white. Even days after shifting, his hair can still have a salt and pepper coloring to it.

personality
Tag is in his own little world more often than the real one. If he's not behind the wheel, he's pretty spaced out most of time. Unless it involves cars, sometimes pop culture, he stays quiet for the most part. It's possible that he's a good listener, or just good at appearing interested. It's hard to tell. But by no means is he the stoic type, if anything Tag is kind of a man child; guileless and dim witted. Just the quieter variant. Still new to this world, he has an innocent outlook on most aspects of life. It's clear that he does not have the same sense of responsibility as most adults, in fact he actively avoids any form of it. Despite his large and intimidating frame, Tag lacks a spine and has trouble putting his foot down, it's easer to go along with the crowd. He looks to other people for leadership, whether it's someone telling him what to do, or his mechanics intuition. It's balanced out by having the temperament of a golden retriever; loyal to a fault, patient, sometimes stubborn, and an urge to look out for others, especially those who are younger or weaker than he is. His intentions are harmless, good even, but he loses sight of long term consequences when fooling around.

Tag's intelligence is debatable. Because of his gift, he has an in depth knowledge of most pieces of machinery, but he is intelligible about a handful of other subjects, along with what he teaches in school. Even at the yeti equivalent of thirty, Tag is still willing to learn about anything, and spends a good chunk of his free time reading. That said, Tag is deeply lacking in common sense. He means well, but he just doesn't think things all the way through. Like wearing his shirt backwards and inside out. Or stapling his finger together. Or most notoriously, arriving late to his own class.

Underneath it all, he has troubles bigger than just being forgetful, but he represses them. Basically, holding his breath hoping to sufficate before having to confront some of the darker matters of his past. Tag feels a tremendous amount of guilt for the one mistake he made that ultimately led to a mass extinction, and doesn't believe he can forgive himself until he can find another survivor. He also worries about others more than he is willing to admit. Simply put, Tag is a big man with a big heart.

ABILITIES
Yeti Physiology (Active)- Tag is able to shift into his actual form of a yeti, standing at 10'1. In this form his strength and powers not relating to mechanics are considerably stronger. However, shifting causes him a great deal of pain, and it's common for him to act more feral than his actual self in this form. The aftermath or right before shifting is when Tag is at his peak while still fully aware of everything. He is able to shift at will, though struggles at times, but also will shift involuntarily under heavy emotional strain or if he stays human too long. Typically he'll spend around two to five hours in this form, and without a bracelet have to shift at least once a month.

Cryokinesis (Active)- Either in his yeti form, right before or after shifting, or without his power bracelet, Tag is able to create and shape ice as long as there is substance that can be frozen around. He is able to create intricate designs within a one to five centimeter radius in volume which is helpful for quick fixes of parts and freeze up to five feet in volume of water.

Cold Adaptation (Passive)- Tag was made to survive harsh mountain conditions. His body has the ability to drop 0 degrees Fahrenheit, along with a thick very layer skin/fur that can protect him from wind/snow/hail. As a yeti, he also has a third eyelid that prevents snowblindess by minimizing the amount of UV radiation that enters the eyes, bright lights will have no affect on him. His breathing capacity is adjusted to handle pressure up to 50,000 feet without an oxygen mask, or around ten miles. Due to living in high altitudes, his body requires less oxygen along with being immune to vertigo and motion sickness.

Enhanced Condition (Passive)- In his yeti form, Tag has tremendously better strength, endurance, and durability compared to a human. His skin, muscles, and bones are denser, making it harder to take damage. Punches and physical strength would have no affect on him in this form, while a weapon such as a knife or gun, while it would be harder to get through his skin, can still affect him. In addition to his body being adapted for high altitudes, his stamina is unusually high, he can run for up to ten kilometers before losing breath, go a week without sleep, and perform at peak capacity for up to two hours before getting tired. Strength-wise, he can lift around 1 ton with ease. As a human, Tag's condition is about the same, if not just a little toned down compared to his Yeti counterpart. Tag has the same durability that he has as a Yeti, however, while the side affects of the physical attacks are mild if any, he will feel all the pain that a normal human would have several hours, days, or weeks after. How long it takes to feel any physical consequences is typically random.

Mechanic's Intuition (Passive): Without his power bracelet, by simply looking at any piece of machinery, Tag is able to sense any default to it, along with how to fix it. Any knowledge pertaining to the inner workings of a device that would be necessary he would be aware of has as long as that device is within a ten foot radius. The devices that apply are strictly non electronic, he would be able to fix an AC unit or a car, but not a computer virus. However, he would be able to fix circuits or a broken screen. Tag also has a general idea on how to use any non-electronic tool if he holds it, but does not have the handy work or precision that someone trained would have.

Common Magical Items
Nullification Bracelet- Tag's power bracelet prevents him from shifting into a yeti at all. As a side effect, it also takes away his cryokinesis and mechanic's intuition ability. It is necessary to wear while teaching, but he rarely takes it off in general.

biography
Considering that Tag was born a yeti, his upbringing was relatively normal. Yetis were closer to gods on earth than monsters, living on earth with a similar social structures and behaviors to humans. Their appearance did not deter humans from worshiping them as they lived too far up the mountains for the two to have face to face contact. In exchange for offerings, yetis would scare off the invaders and other tasks requiring great strength. All while out of the human eye. The offerings gave insight to human life surrounding the Himalaya's and affected their culture.

Growing up, Tag had an easy and sheltered childhood, but had big shoes to fill even at an early age. Thing was, he he didn't wanted that kind of responsibility, he didn't see himself fit to be a leader despite being one of the strongest in his clan. Instead, he screwed around with human offerings, his gift apparent at an early age. He became more or less of a local legend to humans and yetis alike for his ability to fix anything, even receiving direct offerings, mainly broken parts that needed repair.

All was well until his late teens. In a successful attempt to rescue an American missionary trekking too far up a mountain, life as he knew it would never be the same. After bringing him back to health, Tag decided to follow the missionary down the mountain. He settled down in a rural village for awhile, not too different from his home, growing close to the man, and the other bewildered residents. Most of his time was spent doing what would be considered hard labor to a human to learn about the many uses of money. He also learned snippets of human languages such as English, several movie plots, and the existence of cars which he became fascinated by. After hearing so much about what humans did, Tag wanted to trek further down and acquire a human charm.

Eventually, he came across some shady researchers who promised they could provide that in exchange for some information about his clan and species. Unbeknownst to Tag, it came at a hefty cost; the enslavement of his home, him included, for research purposes, or essentially torture. They wanted to see how the mythical properties of yetis could be transferred over to humans, and other ways to apply yeti physiology. Some were sold off and used to perform actual hard labor, others experimented on to the point of death, which left Tag as possibly the last yeti. Except he wasn't, Tag got his wish, he unwillingly became human after a series of procedures. In the process, his dignity as a yeti was taken, every time he shifts back he would feels pain and lose consciousness, having the mentality of a feral animal. After several painful years, he was able to escape.

He wound up in London of all places, spending his first few months homeless before joining his first gang. There he was taken advantage of for his strength, he felt that he was finally accepted among the humans and would do pretty much anything for them. Their treatment of his grew more manipulative, wanting him to shift into a yeti more often for the sake of heists even though he was uncomfortable. An encounter with a police officer drove him to step down, working as a cab driver for a few months, but he got swiped away by another gang. This one was more understanding and provided him a warehouse for him to do whatever in as long as he still acted as the muscle. He quit a year in, taking a job as a bus driver, later a garbage truck driver before getting involved in a gang, again. The cycle continued for several years and gangs later each in between and day job involving driving, soon it became more of a voluntary choice to join. His last gang was Fitz's Five, being really insistent about being the getaway this time. They had their doubts about a man who could barely even fit into a car, but after his first heist with them the position was his.It was one of his very first times not mentioning that he was a yeti in a crew, also the longest he ever spent in a gang.

When the gang dispatched, he went off grid to search for any survivors without telling anyone, but came back empty handed with more questions than answers. After finding out about the existence of Manta Carlos, he reached out to Sean and decided to pursue teaching. His interview went surprisingly well considering his lack of background and will start in a week
