


Plenty of people were still out, and the lights and parties hadn't died down in the slightest. Shay didn't pay much attention to most of them, or so it seemed. She would tense when anyone got too close, and she was also moving a little too stiffly near the crowds they passed.

He was wary of the crowds as well, and would tug her hand gently to keep her closer to him when they got too close.





Again, Shay stopped at the door as she had last time and inspected it. "Thanks for the necklace, it was really sweet of you to get it for me." She tried hard not to let her face betray any emotion here. "And walking me home and taking me to the beach, and...buying the gloves." Her eyes flickered down to his hands.
