Eroshay sat in the busy cafeteria, munching on an apple and reading a book. She sat alone at the far of a table, ignoring everyone else as they chatted away. She was about halfway through her book and completely engrossed by it. She took a large bite of the fruit in her hand, turning her head so as not to get any juice on the pages of her book, but her eyes never left the words there.

A small group of boys roughhousing nearby bumped into her, causing her to drop her apple. She glowered at them, but they didn't even take notice of her. Shay huffed and stood with her book to get her apple and throw it away. She hated eating in the cafeteria. It was too noisy. Too many people.

The loose apple rolled up to Kenta as he was crossing the room. He crouched down and picked it up, looking for its source. When he caught Shay in his sight, he smiled, waved and walked over to her. He had a pocky stick hanging from his mouth.
"Hey Shay." He greeted her happily, his pocky stick almost seeming to defy gravity as it stayed in his mouth. "Yours?" He asked, holding up the apple. He soon realized it got filthy.
"M-maybe you don't want it back."

Shay stopped, hand halfway out to take the apple from him. Her smile was a hint tense when she realized who held her apple. "I was going to throw it away," she told him, dropping her hand and stepping further from him. Again, someone fell against her, sending Shay flying forward into Kenta.

"Oh, um... I--" His thought was cut off when she fell toward him. He dropped the apple and his box of pocky and caught her out of instinct, no time to consider her power or... anything really.
"Are you ok?"

Shay didn't answer him. Her body had tensed, and her eyes went distant. She saw flash after flash of death, like a fast forwarded movie of death and blood and lights. What were the lights? It was so sudden it took her breath away. Her breath hitched, her skin tingled. It was like a series of static shocks all focused on Shay's brain.

She groaned and pushed away from him, holding her head and wobbling like she was drunk. The room was spinning. Where was she? She smelled something burning; felt like she was going to vomit.

"S-shay?..." Now with more time to think out the situation, Kenta moved so his sleeves would droop over his hands and put his covered hands on her shoulders to help keep her stable. "Shay, do you... do you need a nurse or something? What should I do?" He was close to panicking, but trying his best to help her.

"I'm fine," she said in a weak, cracked tone. "It's not that bad." She had seen some weird glimpses, but Shay didn't want to talk about those. Her shoulders drooped in defeat. Every time something like this happened, it served to prove to her how she'd never get to touch someone. Never have that connection. Always careful. Always worried. She closed her eyes until the threat of tears had passed.

"Okay, I really am fine now," her voice was stronger, clearer. Can we just get out of here? So many people."

Kenta nodded and took her hand in his sleeve covered hand and lead her through the crowd, making sure to weave away from people. It was a slow and careful process, but they got out into the halls without making contact with anyone else.
"Anywhere you think'd be abandoned about now? People will be rushing back to class before long..."

Shay pulled her hand from his once they were outside. She wasn't that fragile. She didn't need him leading her around. It was then that Shay decided she would be skipping class. She just didn't feel up to going. That might bite her in the butt later.

The second mistake of the day that she made was what she said next.

"We could go to the forbidden forest." She was feeling... odd today. Angry. Shay was often angry, but the anger was different now. Colder. Harder. It had settled in her stomach and forced her to act out.

"Really?!" There was a combination of surprise and excitement in his voice. "Sure, Sounds fun!" He didn't expect her to say something like that. She really was confusing, but hes totally on board with this plan.
