She'd giggle, running her fingers through her hair, trying to get any sand from it. "Sand or no sand it was fun," despite the bruises she likely had. "Sand is such a fluid thing, have you tried changing its shape into other weapons and tools?"

The half dragon would motion her to follow. "I hadn't sparred with anyone besides my parents in some time," she'd say, "I've sparred with a few of my cousins, but not recently." She'd lead her out of the building.

Once outside she'd shake more sand from her shirt. "Hopefully the restuarant won't mind a bit of sand," she'd giggle.

"Honestly I've never thought to try. They were swords when I found them... huh. Seems like something I normally would think to check." Seyyal was slightly puzzled. Testing and working around with various abilities was kind of one of her main things but the swords had always just been thought of as swords for her.

"Oh, if you've got any more sand than that on you ill have to blame the beach. I only used a couple handfuls from my pouches." She laughed as they walked towards the diner that had been mentioned.

She'd chuckle. "Maybe that's something we can play with next time we sparr?" she'd suggest. "Like, imagine being able to change the shape of the blade mid fight, changing it into a hook or other useful things."

Arno would giggle, sticking her tongue out at her a little. "That's all of it I think," she'd run her fingers through her hair one more time.

They'd arrive at the diner and she'd open the door for her, letting her enter first. Behind the counter a small, floating, multi armed being was working the kitchen. "What kind of foods do you like?" she'd ask as they took their seat. "Hmm....also there's something I should tell you if were going to hang out."

Seyyal kind of seemed to let the topic of weapon changing fade out as she failed to really respond to it. Whether because she wasnt interested or it happened to slip her mind though wasn't clear.

Once at the Diner Seyyal gave an appraising look at more or less everyone in there. Habit or perhaps instinct. It was good to know what she was dealing with. However Arno snapped her back into focusing on the conversation with the question.

"I'm really not much of a picky eater. I pretty much always order whatever the house special is, but the spicier the better-" she broke off as Arno added that there was apparently something to share. "Ok... if its that important makes sense you'd want to share it. We talking something that shouldn't be overheard or...?"

She was sitting with rapt attention now. Her mind quickly running through possible issues that could have come up.

"Welllllll.....," the half dragon would touch the ring on their horn and their sex would shift. "I'm genderfluid," he'd clear his throat, "the ring is my sex swap charm." He'd offer a nervous smile. "A few classmates got confused, thought I was my own twin."

He'd chuckle nervously. "I'm told it's not overly uncommon here but I get that it throws some people off," he'd brush a bit of hair from his eyes, his cheeks a little flushed.

"Anyways, spicy foods are good," he'd smile, "I learned to cook from my mom, we make these homemade sausages with peppers and onions on them." He'd look at the menu, ordering a drink as the waitress appeared.

"Oh."

"Well, ok then. Glad you saved me from making that mistake. Should I ask what pronouns you go by?" She asked, relying on what she'd learned from classes on how to adjust to things here. Fortunately she'd met enough people here thst she wasn't totally unprepared at least.

Seyyal ordered water for herself- the concept of just casually ordering clean cold water with ice in it still seemed like a luxury even now.

"That sounds similar to the kinds of things we can sometimes get to eat back home. But usually its roasted or stewed meat not sausage. I can mostly cook meat without burning it too badly myself." She smiled, thinking of the various makeshift spit roasts she'd arranged with the Lionesses over their travels.

He'd chuckle. "Just whatever I'm presenting as at the time, like I'm a guy right now, so he, him, I'm not picky though." The half dragon would take a sip of his water when it arrived. "Growing up me and my parents moved a lot in the narrow reality, so I usually ended up just having to pick one gender and stick to it in public until we moved again."

Arno would tilt his head. "Well......how about I cook you dinner one night?" he'd offer with a smile. "I like cooking, and well.....you seem fun to spend time with," he'd only cooked for a few people, so he was kinda curious.

The half dragon would set his menu to the side having decided on his food. "Me and my parents share a mansion with a friend, big kitchen, so easy enough to cook a meal." The waitress would return, taking their orders and vanishing again.

Seyyal nodded at the answer on pronouns, glad that she hadnt made an ass of herself. He/him it was, for the time being.

She effortlessly moved past the discussion about family life to consider the offer of dinner. A mansion definitely sounded extra fancy. "Sure. Why not? Just as long as its nothing too fancy. I'm not much for nobles and their tiny expensive dishes."

He'd chuckle. "Don't worry, I like simple foods with big helpings," he'd take a sip of his drink. "Homemade sausages and bread that I bake myself," he hadn't cooked for many, but he was looking forward to this.

Their food would arrive, the waitress levitating it to them via some magic, the plates would gently set in front of them. "I'll try to make something as good as the restaurants make," he'd say with a smile.

Arno would take a bite of his food. "So, I can pick you up from your dorm?" he'd ask, "I can have it ready beforehand, unless you wanna watch me cook?"

Freshly made bread sounded amazing to her. The judges were still out on the sausages but that was ok. Seyyal was nothing if not adventurous. By definition in fact, since she was still technically a professional adventurer when she lay her head down at night to return home with her friends.

"Hmm, how about you tell me where to meet you and i'll do that. No sense in you going all the way to the dorms just to show me how to get there. Besides, they have these strange magic boxes to use if I get lost and need directions," she laughed and pulled out her phone.

"I'll skip watching you cook though if that's alright. As fun as that sounds you'd probably have to fight me off from just stealing the food before it's done like some kind of animal."
